    Did the padauk ever lighten, almost loosing its color all together? I also have had padauk dust get into the maple grain. I never did get it all out. Did you have that problem? Also, the 45 degree cuts of the purple heart was glued tight all around the chess board, my question is did expansion ever damage the the corner's connections? Thanks, great looking board.

      The Padauk wood didn’t lighten for me. The Paduak sawdust did get smeared into the maple wood while sanding but as I went up grits it became less and less until eventually none of the dust was getting into the maple grain. I’ve glued up many picture frames in the exact same way as the Purple Heart and the corners have never failed on me. Thanks for the comment.
