Hey, Tony, thanks for taking us along. The Lucas sawmill, I easily one of coolest mills I have seen! Take care
Steve I thought so as well. Though it can’t make slab lumber like your mill it definitely processes dimensional lumber quickly and easily.

That is definitely a neat saw mill. I can really see the benefits of have a circular saw like that. It was very impressive on the speed of cutting them boards. Stay safe my friend
Tim, for production milling of dimensional lumber to 10” this mill is unbelievable.

Cool mill Tony. Thanks for taking us along, I have not seen this type of mill in action.
Frances it was a cool mill and though it’s been out there it’s not as popular as the standard bandsaw mill.
Hope you had a great TDay with Brittany and the Boys.

This machine is more impressive in person I’ve seen it many times. I do not own one but I’ve met people who use it and love it !
You are so right, video doesn’t do it justice. It truly is an impressive piece of equipment.

Thanks for sharing . Be sure to show Chris . lol. Craig. Pa.
Craig I showed this to Chris at the Paul Bunyan show last fall.
if we were doing Milling the Lucas saw would be something to try.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Tony - it is a little bit of work - but you can do 20" boards if you really want to - just turn the power head around and run it from the other end. Aussie ingenuity mate
Like the old saying “ if there is a will there is a way” you folks down under just figured it out first😂.
All kidding aside this is one well thought out piece of equipment!
Thanks for watching, sharing and commenting 👍TCT
Tony, great content as usual. Didn't know there was a mill that cut lumber in that manner. Learn something new everyday. Thanks. Have a merry Christmas my friend. Rob...
Rob, glad you enjoyed the video and content.
Appreciate you watching and commenting.
Hope you and your family have a safe, happy and healthy Christmas as well.

Years ago, I had 4 huge pines milled into limber with a LucasMill that belonged to a guy further down the valley. 400 10 ft 2x4s, all cut in one day. I built woodsheds, a pig shed, a chicken shed, and a bunch of other stuff. They are a superb piece of kit. If I had a woodlot, I'd get one in a heartbeat.👍🪓🇦🇺
I was memorized when watching them make different size dimensional beams and boards quickly, easily and accurately .
It definitely is an awesome piece of equipment.

I enjoyed it once again.
The Lucy’s Saw Mill is great and cuts faster too in my eyes.
$20,000 seems good too😊
Rick that’s a reasonable price for what that machine can do.
You can be proud of one of your Kinsmen who invented it.

Like Mother Earth News magazine, great mill, just don’t understand how the log keeps from shifting, maybe pegged to the ground? Thanks Tony🇺🇸
Mike I think they had wheel chocks in several locations at the bottom of the log.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
love my lucas cuts boards and slabs easily and so portable
The Lucas mill is definitely an awesome piece of equipment when processing logs into dimensional lumber.
Appreciate you sharing!

I don't have any experience with bandsaw mills but I do see where they both have there advantages and disadvantages.
Definitely different to what is the normal.
Thank you for taking us along.
The big disadvantage to a bandsaw mill is all of the rotating of the log as you are milling your boards.
Daniel you’re right everyone’s need and their equipment should match their need's.
No one mill will work for everyone.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Well Tony will we be seeing one in your wood yard 😮😊❤
Todd, highly unlikely. My Woodyard is to small and I’m happy with firewood production for now.

Memories, I have dozens of old TMEN magazines from the early years.

Thanks Tony, have a great day.

I met Alan a few years ago on a volunteer job, great guy plus I John Bailey the son of Baileys they started the company in small town in laytonville California great family owned business..
Baileys definitely has turned into a great family owned business that caterers to forestry products.

Tony Hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day😊
We did, do the folks down under have a similar day of thanksgiving?
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Correction, can cut a 20 inch board. Rest power head on log and rotate.
Dan, appreciate you noting the Lucas saw can cut a wider board.
I’ve had a couple viewers mention as well.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Very neat mill.
Allan it really is a different concept then a standard bandsaw mill.
It seems very proficient for dimensional lumber for sure.

Cool stuff
Dave glad you enjoyed the video.

It is hard to beat a swingblade sawmill for making finished dimensional lumber right off the log. Lucas isn't the only manufacturer or style of swingblade sawmill. For milling big logs they are certainly the ticket.
I agree after seeing several swing blade mills they are the choice for quick processing of trees to lumber.
Appreciate you watching and commenting 👍TCT
Nice video Tony
Larry glad you liked the video.

I think you should buy on and come up here and demo it in my yard.
Ha ha Dana if I had your money I would😂😂😂

Bob, glad you liked the mill.

Good morning Tony, Great video of a different saw, One of my favorites at Bunyan, Take care🪵👍🏼🇺🇸
Larry I was lucky to see the Lucas mill at both Bunyan and Mother Earth Fair and learned different thing about the machine.
It definitely is a nice piece of equipment.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
Where did this take place?
The Mother Earth show was in Sept (West Bend WI.)
There are a few more locations they have their show in the US.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
My dad has had one for 20 years. Far superior to the bandsaw mills we previously ran
I totally agree, after seeing the Lucas mill produce dimensional lumber extremely fast. Great piece of equipment.
Thanks for watching and commenting 👍TCT
It's too pricey to appeal to the home/ hobby sawmiller.
I agree unless you have a large supply of free wood to process into dimensional lumber.
