Hey mikecorazza, I saw the video 👍. If it’s just drops, I wouldn’t worry too much but it’s a warning.
Like you showed in the video if the oil comes from deep inside the propeller shaft, then your O ring seal will need to be changed. When you do the oil change in your lower shaft, if you see it’s not a brown to darker oil color, but more of a light to silver or brown with spots in the oil. That would mean your O ring seal will need to be changed. That means water is infiltrating into your lower unit.
For oil at the bottom in your engine is very normal. I have it too.
For the key part, my key Is installed in my dashboard. I have a kill switch where your key is installed.
I don’t think you have a choke controller on the handle, it’s only on the engine “pull to prime” button. That’s how it is on mine.

@@joetheboatguy5394 Hey Joe! Sorry for late reply. I worked late last night, and woke up early to fish (only if no new oil leaked into container) which it didn't, had to rush back home to come into another afternoon shift. I took propeller off early this morning, cleaned out inside excess oil/muck. Re-applied marine grade grease to shaft. Boat ran great most of morning. Then all of sudden kept cutting out. Found out the fuel line clip became disconnected. Found and clipped it back in and we were good. Until I noticed with almost full throttle we weren't going normal speed. It was a new thing I"ve never seen before. I've seen it where my old prop spins and we don't move temporarily. But I never heard or felt prop spin, but we'd be going slower than usual on calmer water that giving throttle on would go faster. It wasn't like it was choppy water and the blades kept jumping out of water. Anyways, when I get into the oil change later this year, I'll see about if it needs O ring. And the oil drops in bottom of bucket under prop were dark brown, more like blackish chocolate syrup. I felt kind of stupid wondering if props come with oil in them. I did wonder if somehow the oil coming out of prop was connected to the increased throttle not consistently speeding up the boat, or something wrong with propeller etc. I have a new prop in box I can try I guess... Is there a way to donate to your channel for all the time you're spending helping me? Thanks again

Hey mikecorazza, A spun prop is one of the most common reasons your powerboat may struggle to achieve appropriate speed at full throttle. Try this not one of my videos but check it out czcams.com/video/d7Lz7cI-srQ/video.htmlsi=0o2xX40t8zts8Idg
But also make sure you fuel line is well connected and not cracked, if your engine takes air it can cause loss of power. But if your engine sounds nice and runs fine and you still have loss of speed check the video above and try that.

@@joetheboatguy5394 Thanks again! Just watched the video and I'll do that little center punch test before going out on water again to check for a spun prop. It's a newer prop as the one that came with the boat purchase last Aug was older and already damaged and spun. This one not acting the same like last prop where I'd here the motor working fine, then get really loud, rev'ing super high but boat not speeding up (actually slowing down instead). That was the spun prop scenario from last year. This one, as you said above, motor sounds totally fine and I give it more throttle and boat doesn't go faster. I'll check again next time on water if I hear motor working harder with increased throttle. I'll be surprised if this new issue from just this morning is a spun prop but what do I know lol? Hi Carlo, thanks for watching, the year on this outboard is 1992. For the parts didn’t have much issues with it, where I needed to change parts. I do regular maintenance on it and the outboard is treating me right. I’m very happy with it 👍

I would still ask for a compression test to make sure the outboard is in a good state. But I can’t complain about mine.

Hi Charles, no i don't. but i do cover the engine in winter with a tarp.
