@@gavinm6720 that's a miniscule number of copies! Even if I'd been aware of this at the time odds are I'd not stand a chance of getting a copy it's pretty much an empty gesture. Plus I haven't had a working record player for years.
The first press single from ‘88 sells for around €300. On my wanted list, a banger, that brings back so many memories of Saturday morning’s
One day a version of this song will be the hit it has always deserved to be.
If it brings people back to the original it'll be worth it.

@@Bradbore70 A very limited press run I'd imagine, copies changing hands for hundreds of Dollars on Ebay almost right away! I wish they'd just reissue it properly and have a CD version, I've not had a working record player for years.
This song was way too good to only be remembered as a cartoon theme song.

This is the Evergreen Forest; quiet, peaceful and serene
Fun Fact: The music video to this great song was filmed in Downtown Toronto ( my home town) around Bloor Street and Yonge Street where the old Uptown Movie Theater use to be.
That explains why everything is blue, cause Toronto loves their blue.

I've loved this song since I was 6 years old. I've never forgotten it. Raccoons was one of my favorite cartoons growing up.
I remember the cartoon when I was younger. I jsut checked the top 40 website to see if it ever charted in the UK. It hasn't. This could have been a massive hit, even in 2024

Sadly, she never wrote this song. The creator of The Racoons did, Kevin Gillis. The first season's ending credits are the first version of the song. Seasons two and beyond is hers.

I have never hear of her or this song and I was around in 1988 listing and watching to music videos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Underated song, raccoons, one of the many great 80s cartoons
This is my first time watching this, someone on my stream suggested it to me (I make my own Retro 80s music), I love it!
She was beautiful back then! Such a shame she’s not really out there doing songs or anything anymore… She had a few albums and then just disappeared never being heard from on the internet or anything again… I would love to hear her again years later singing the songs like this from the show again! She’s much older now but I bet she sounds beautiful even now, I hope she comes out of hiding and does this for the fans one day… I’m suprised with Kevin being so involved with the fans keeping the show alive that nobody heard from Lisa, her songs from this are popular now from the internet more than ever yet, nothing…
Really hope Kevin can get her back again for a reboot of the show if it happens voicing Lisa Racoon and doing the songs again…

Honestly that would of been a great episode for an introduction towards Lisa and how she really is, the character is a singer for the show singing alot of the songs in the show, (4th wall break), Bert asks the narrator who she is, he tells him, and eventually Bert falls for her beautiful voice, and eventually finds out she’s actually Bentley’s sister, saying he can have her sign her albums and everything for him letting him keep them afterwards, he eventually gets to meet Lisa and everything that happens from “Spring Fever” eventually happens. :)

Such a great song ! sadly alot of Americans prolly never watched the show or heard this song, not to mention she did not write the song or the OG singer for this to be a smash hit, so many things stacked against this wonderfull underrated version !
This show was a massive hit in the states too. Disney even picked it up along with Under The Umbrella Tree (another CBC show), for the early Disney Channel lineup.

I'll be honest: my first exposure to this was in the end credits of "Hobo with a Shotgun," and until I saw a 1988 copyright, I genuinely thought it was a new, circa-2011 recording done in that late-Eighties style.
Same, we didn't have The Raccoons in the UK so Hobo's credits was my exposure. I was blown away by the song!

This really shoulda been the theme song to a cool action movie. LIke a chase across the US to get somewhere before the baddies too? Obviously the baddies are attacking our goodies constantly on their journey. This either plays at the start to get us in the mood or plays over a montage towards the end or maybe both? It IS a great song.
