How did Raccoons of all cartoons end up with one of the best songs in a Western animated cartoon?
It was also a single, though I'm not sure if the single was before or after the cartoon (I think after, but I'm not sure)
It was Canadian. 😋
The singer (Lisa Lougheed) did one of the voices on the cartoon (Lisa Raccoon).

Was there ever a racoon transformer?
As a kid who was bullied, had a hard time making friends, and found it hard to trust, I remember having a recording of this outdo from the raccoons and playing it over and over, absorbing the lyrics. I’m 37 now, married, and have some wonderful friends, but this song makes me wish I could let that kid know it’s going to be okay. Things will hurt, things will heal, things are better than you could believe that can be.
Somewhere in 1986 young me raised his head, sensing that one day he would see something awesome.
That day has arrived. :)

A proud Canadian that watched this show as a kid and this song hit me with a tonne of bricks. I wanted to run with them in the Evergreen forest. Then to have heard it years later at the freaking ending of hobo was such an amazing tilt of the hat to that special show mentioned before made me lose my mind.It instilled that same feeling I had many moons ago. Thank you for doing this song guys. Im in my mid 30's from Alberta im in tears!!!

I was watching this as a proud American as a kid on the Disney Channel and never knew anyone else knew the song other than me.....and I saw them this year at Dragoncon and they did this song and I was cheering and singing along as I would if I was still that kid in the 80's :)

Wow! This song brings back memories. I haven't seen 'The Raccoons' since I was a kid. I forgot what a great song that was. Hearing it performed by The Cybertronic Spree has heightened it to a deep, social anthem.

I can't believe I just watched some of my favorite 80's characters sing one of my favorite 80's songs. Sometimes everything's all right with the world.

Finally someone, other than myself and my wife who think the theme song to this classic TV deserves better airing and in no better way by another iconic Animated TV show group, who meld the old with the old with the foam and the new. Amazing and quite brilliant.

So, on a whim I decide to do a search for "Nothing's Gonna Stand in our Way", then I find what has to be one of the greatest covers of all time to the point that it stands on its own. And now I find out you cover this song on top of all that. I hope you designed those amazing suits with the ability to take a bow, and if you can't, I'd get on that.

I have no clue how exactly this video ended up in my CZcams feed, but I was just working on some reports, and only half-listening, but the instant that base line started, my Canadian senses started tingling.
There was a momentary mental hiccup when I first saw the band, as I did not expect to see a Transformers-themed band, performing Run With Us, and at the Bloor St. Theater no less!
I went down quite the rabbit hole as a result of this video, and I'm glad I managed to snag one of their Transformers 1986 albums before they went out of stock...I missed the vinyl release sadly.
Needless to say, they earned themselves a new fan, and I look forward to seeing them live...when things get back to "normal" at least.
