Thanks for the closeup views of the floods! I think you are quite correct that Shrewsbury is in a bad position and has always been prone to flooding. My husband ( who has a better memory than me) says he remembers flooding at the bottom of Mardol in the early 80’s, but the area near the Abbey never flooded while we lived in Shrewsbury up to the mid 90’s. So maybe it’s worse these days? Best of luck to Shrewsbury residents in these difficult circumstances though. Hope things get back to normal soon and you can all start drying out! Only a few weeks til Spring!!

Thank you Pam always a pleasure. I think there has been 3 really bad floods in the last 20 years or so (2 of which now covered on this channel) let’s hope this is the last for quite a while 👍

The area by the Abbey has flooded, the council put up boards for people to walk on with the workers helping them. .

Thanks for this video folks, weather weapon warfare/engineering has also been going on and been getting more advanced, at least since the 1950's, check out the patents and treaties, .. for this type of tech, ..

Could be interesting to investigate the Lynmouth (in North Devon) floodings 15-16 August 1952 resulting in much damage and a loss of 34 lives and research Operation Cumulus or Operation Witch Doctor, ..

Bearing in mind this is a fairly normal if infrequent event who are the halfwits that gave planning permission for the modern buildings shown in your footage?

If they put a couple of pence onto the price of petrol, the reduction in emissions would feed through and the water would recede. But our politicians know it would upset their dear voters too much.
