  • The River Severn peaked at just under 5m on Thursday 4th January 2024. This is below the record 5.25m recorded in November 2000 but it still caused considerable disruption in the town. Science is telling us that we can expect more severe floods more often in Shrewsbury as we head deeper into the climate emergency.

Wow that’s where we walked! Any of the houses flooded? Great views sadly too much water.

Becoming an annual event now, houses and businesses flooded and lots of nasty stuff in the water too 🤢

It wasn't as bad as it has been in the past. I think most people in the areas at risk are pretty well prepared now. I doubt their insurance still covers them for flood damage though! It must be pretty devastating to have all that dirty water invading your property or business.

Wait till it becomes a 15 minute city shortly, you'll permanently have to park your car outside & walk in lmao... You guys need to wake up to what your council is doing!

@@robinmager so you actually want to contact the council everytime you want to venture out of the area & get a permit?

@@neogirl37 that is not what 15 minute cities are about. Of course you can believe what you like, though why you have to comment about 15 minute cities on a video about flooding is a mystery.
