Broke a blade on an OLD out of production Leatherman about 10 years ago. Sent it in for repair and they sent me a brand new model that was similar to mine.👍 Can't beat that kind of service
I thought they would have used leathermans to put leathermans together.
Wait what?
Machines will make more so more days can be saved.

That was a joke. An obvious one, at that.
But how did the homie make the first one?
damage you ought to look into how jokes are made
I've been fortunate to meet Tim and have some of my leathermans signed by him. He's as nice a guy in person as here in this video. Great tools, good quality. Nice to see they are still being made in the US.
Pretty cool seeing how my favorite multi-tool is made.
Also, Leatherman 25 year warranty is no joke. I sent it in because one tool was loose, and they just sent me a whole new Wave. 10/10, Leatherman has my future business.
i sent one in after a year with a missing screw and broken blade and they sent it back and told me it wasn't covered under warranty
Same with me.I had my original wave for maybe twenty three years and two of the tools were worn and loose.Sent it in to Leatherman and i recieved the latest Wave as a replacement.
Yep just got my brand new wave plus today after 20 years with an original wave. I let some moron borrow it and they snapped both knives at the base, I was furious. I just sent my broken wave to the uk distribution (fabulous service) with the form on their website and they sent me a new piece straight away with no quibbles, brilliant.
I did the same with my older version wave and they sent me a wave + as replacement. I just wanted my old one repaired, it had bit me out of some sticky situations and I'd grown very attached it with fond memories. Was quite upset, I mean the 25yr replacement is excellent but I'd lost my old friend. I suppose it would cost a fortune to strip my wave, replace broken item and refurbish the rest with the added cost of having older model spare bits in stock. I love my new one and LM but been recommend swisstool x so I'll check that out.
The "25 Year" Warranty is a suggestion. Even if it's 30+ years old, they've been known to still honor it.
Tim Leatherman seems like a genuinely good guy. Have been using a Wave since the 90s and it's nice to know it comes from such a nicely run company.
I love how leatherman has kept it's quality great over the years, whereas Gerber has gone to crap. Keep it up!
If it says Gerber its for babies. Leatherman (NOTE: last 3 letters MAN) is for getting the job done.
I've owned a lot of these tools. most were supplied to me, in the past. They al break and wear out fast. The one I've bought (wave in the late 90s) broke three times on me (one broke the pliers, the other two the tools inside). the supllied version wear out in 3 to 6 months of usage (professionally). I got a refund from my shop (not from LM) and bought a swisstool, that tool has been with me since 2000 til the present day. Its used every single day and it wil last for ages. My wife hase a wave (second one, replaced under warranty) and she likes it because she has smaller hands. If my Swissool would be lost, and I would have to choose a LM or a Swissmade tool... it would be a swisstool (after running through I think 25 to 30 LM tools that is). btw a lot of the current line up is produced overseas and essambled in the us faccility.
Bas
Grant Leben I just bought a Gerber prodigy and I love it🤣😂🤣
I have a Victorinox SwissTool X. The quality is phenomenal.
My Leatherman Wave pliers just snapped. I was kinda of shocked because the amount of force that was being used was minimal. I had the same tool for about 8 years or so but i didn't see any signs of a crack. I wanna stay faithful to Leatherman but it did taint my opinion...just a little
most durable product I have ever paid for
Wonderful endorsement!
*overpaid for.
+Ernest Wong Meh.... my Suspension is okay....
the sheepfoot blade is pretty much the best whittling knife i've ever used,
but it lacks a file.
And the scissors is a pain in the ass to use.
Just stamped sheet metal, no flat ergonomic surface.
Sooo,
you have much MORE durable products that you haven't paid for (i.e. stole)
??
And if it brakes at all? They WILL fix or replace it?
I got a wave for my 18 th birthday, im 35, its still good as new, I use it most days.
Got a wave+ for Christmas. Hoping it will last me many years! :)
Best ad I've ever seen, now I know that when my stepdad was praising Leatherman it was with good reason. Buying one this moment!
In 96 I bought my first Leatherman, the Wave, and I still use it today, absolutely love it!
Sometimes think about upgrading to the Wave+, but I'd have to lose the original first, sentimental value cannot be bought!
Also have the MiniTool & Micra.
I have several leatherman multi tools and I always have one on me. I use it all day, every day. I don't know what I'd do without it.
Excellent piece of kit.
And boy am I glad I have my Leatherman Surge!
How is it, Brandon?
+BRANDMADE.TV so amazing! It's versatility and robustness has helped me so much that I always have a hard time leaving it behind, even at home!
JustSimplyBrandon Had my Wave for years, thinking of upgrading to the Surge.
tgillies101 highly recommended!
What is difference between wave and surge?
I absolutely LOVE my surge and signal. I don’t leave the house without them.
I also love that leatherman’s are made here in the U.S.
That’s so rare these days
I am from Guatemala and in my last trip I bought a Wave+ and rebar, with screwdriver point set, driver extender and bit kit.....the best purchase ever. In the very first day they arrived I found use for both with my brother. Superb tools
When I was in the Army, our First Sergeant told us that we were expected to carry a Leatherman with our field gear. I've been carrying one everyday since then and my Leatherman is my most used tool.
I am a royal engineer veteran and we all carried leathermans. We were expected to have all the add on screwdrivers too, not joking they fixed 85% of issues we encountered
I just bought one a couple of days ago, and have already used it several times. I love and won’t leave home without it. I carry it at home too!
Thank you Leatherman, my sister give a WAVE as a gift almost 20 years ago.
The Leatherman Wave is the best multi tool ever made. Best bang for the buck 💰😀👍!!!
Thanks for sharing.
@@BrandmadeTv - You are welcome
I really love my Blast and Wave Leatherman MTs!. I'm a huge Victorinox fan, collector and everyday carrier but in the last year or so I've come to treasure my Leatherman MTs more and more.
I added a Doan USGI Magnesium Fire starter to my Leatherman Wave pouch and now have a great quality multi tool and fire starting in a single belt pouch that is my every day carry on my belt. The pouch that comes with the Wave has a compartment behind the tool which is the perfect size for the Doan Magnesium Bar and scraper.
I loved my wave! It was my first leatherman and i had it for about 4 years. Now i just got the sidekick this past Christmas and i gave s friend my old wave. Good stuff!
are u serious about giving up on wave because of an sidekick, thats bad...
My brother showed me his leatherman .....
I was so impressed I haven’t been without one since, unless I go to court, a plane flight, or concert or amusement park.... so I try not to go to those places
My wife is pissed I always have it on my hip.....
I told her RELAX if you ever need to be rescued I’ll be prepared
These things K I C K A S S !!!!!!
@@chrisgray3650 You won't be here much longer ... thankfully
I've had my leatherman blasts, for almost 20 yrs. It's a fantastic product. It's come in handy, countless times. I rarely leave the house without it. Top shelf quality.
U know this man has passion for his product when he says his name is on every tool so it has to be perfect. Could not agree more i love my leatherman wave👍
Ive had my leatherman Wave since 2003 when I was in the middle east, deployed with the US army! 16 years!!! great tool to have
My best buddie who recently passed away taught me the value of a good knife using a Leatherman ... His demonstration .... Shaving his arms ... Leatherman y'all rock
I can honestly say that the Leatherman Wave has been with me every single day 365 days a year for the last 4 years and it is a incredible tool that is never ever let me down in any way shape or form and I will continue to carry this product for decades to come it is one of the most useful things I have ever owned in my life
I really love these multi-tools.
Thanks for make it posible!
I'm a long haul truck driver and I don't go anywhere without my Leatherman. I have carried one for more than 20yrs. I gave my son his first Leatherman this past Christmas. Even dressed in a tux for my brothers wedding it was in my pocket.
I have had a Leatherman tool on me every day for the last 30 years. I like the wave best, , but presently carry the super.
It is a necessary thing.
I just got my first Leatherman, the Wave+, and I'm super happy to carry it around.
Same
The Wave is my Every Day Carry (EDC). A must have for every man and woman. You'll be happy you have it with you.
Every Royal Marines Commando wears one on his belt. if you don't have one on you are improperly dressed.
Give a Royal Marine a Feather and an anvil, he will breack the Anvil with the Feather. So if a Leatherman survives, it has to be good.
Very true. I had one as a Bootneck and still carry one to this day. Best multitool ever made.
That would be out of uniform, otherwise naked without a Leatherman.
I joined RM in 86, we all carried Normark knives then, and I still have mine, but I carry a Leatherman everyday now.
I work in construction and have a Leatherman Surge. That thing has taken swims in concrete slurry, been run over by heavy machinery, yet it continues to function. Keep the tool properly oiled and it'll last you a lifetime. You can spend $30 on a decent multi-tool, but under heavy use it'll only last a year, maybe two if you're lucky. Take it from me, if you are willing to put down the initial $120, you can have one that'll last you just about forever.
I got a surge two years ago. I'm still discovering new features on it. It's an amazing product.
I take my "Super Tool 300" with me to work everyday and absolutely pulverize it. It still looks decent and performs flawlessly. I'm a Welder/Fabricator/Ironworker so believe me when I tell you it's getting abused. I was shocked at how durable and efficient this tool has been over the years. I just bought the "Crunch" Two days ago as well, to add to my collection of soon to be 6 Leathermans. Haha Thank you Tim for all your dedication and hardwork to bring these wonderful products to the public.
which one in your opinion is the best tool for pocket carry? I really like the wave + and charge but they both have tiny scissors lol
@@drakejosh808 Depends on what you would be using it for most. For an industrial setting, I'd say Super Tool 300, or Surge. For smaller/less demanding jobs, the wave+ would suffice. They also have a few specialty multi-tools in their line of products, such as the Crunch, or Raptor. You could also add after market tooling to your leatherman. For example, I have the Wave, with a large set of scissors from Victorinox I put into it. There is a bit of fabrication and fitting involved, however it is fairly simple and straightforward.
@@theronpeavey5308 I plan on using it for my pet projects and odd jobs in and around the house. I'd get a surge but I wanna be able to take my multitool everywhere I go (eg. work, jogging, etc.) and I feel like the surge would be too heavy. would prob just end up getting a wave/charge and modding it like you suggested.
Also, do you have any tips on how to prevent rusting? i was thinking wd40 but i plan on using it to prep food as well so something non toxic like mineral oil ig
@@drakejosh808 Just keep up on your maintenance. Clean it with gun solvent, rinse it out, dry it up real good and add some gun oil like Hoppes number 9. It'll do just fine. 90% of Leatherman tools are made out of 420HC Stainless, so you MIGHT get some spotting after awhile, depending on what you're doing, but it's so little you can practically wipe it off. The only time it gets bad is when people don't use them often enough, or they don't do their weekly maintenance or something
@@theronpeavey5308 right on!! thanks a lot for your reply, appreciate it!! :D
I love my Wave, it's functional AND elegant.
do you keep it in your purse next to your tampons?
Thee single greatest invention and contribution to mankind. This is no exaggeration.
...got the 'Wave' when it first came out, then the 'Crunch'... with these two beauties
you can handle most situations in an emergency... brilliant tools!
Just bought the Wave+. Looked at gerber, dewalt, and coast version but they were all made in China, I'm willing to pay more for Made in USA! I'm a Canadian and am always looking for Made in Canada, USA, Great Britain, Germany, Japan, etc...quality not quantity!!
Good job Leatherman!!!
Dido duper, I just bought the Wave+ to replace the Rebar as my EDC. Country of manufacture is #1 on my list too!
Love my super tool 300 is the go-to multi tool for everyday use love the wave is well thanks Leatherman for making awesome multi-tool 👍 👌😁
I have the Wave but while repairing my glasses with the miniature screwdriver I immediately realized I could only use the pliers to hold the mini nut or the screwdriver to turn the mini bolt. I REQUIRED a second Wave, so now I own two. When not in use as a tool I use my two Waves spread out to raise my 17" Macbook Pro off the table to allow cooling air to get under it!!!
That's the 1001th use of a Wave!
I never really wanted one of your tools until the Wave was introduced,
Then at that time you introduced the Wave, I didn't have enough money to buy one,
I saved and bought your current edition Wave,
It has yet to disappoint me!
LOVE IT
I am one of the proud owner of an awesome laetherman wave +.
Stole my dad's old wave
best bit of kit you could ever own
I bought mine in 1990 and only had to send it in to get the pliers fixed I used in construction for years a quality product for sure.
Been carrying a Squirt E4 for at least 15 years daily and somehow just finally bought a wave. The Squirt maybe scuffed up but it still functions like new, no oiling, no care whatsoever beyond sharpening the blade, awesome tools.
I got the WAVE for Christmas beast add knife, really like the product 😊😊😎💪👍
Back around 20 years ago, for romanians (and probably all the eastern european countries) Leatherman was a dream. I live in US now and i own around 6-7 different Leatherman tools now. 😊😊😊
Lost my rebar of 3 years... Was on a fire in Oregon, opened my tuna can sat the tool down(stupid) and forgot to put it back on my pouch. Rip to my rebar 2017 to 2020. Buying the free p2 now. Love Leatherman such an amazing tool. Got me out of many problems
That Leatherman prototype is priceless , i would pay a fortune just to have it in a shrine
took one on two tours ,excellent for use in a Field hospital,in fact, used it to remove the engine id plate from a downed hind, and they are designed to survive(the plate and housing )
gutted a couple of thousand Uruk-hais with this multitool while i was in mordor
:-)))
Leatherman ™ is currently working on a limited edition Anduril model.....
Thousands and thousands
I have been carrying the Leatherman Wingman every day for the best part of 4 years excellent tool never let me down and at a reasonable price. The Sidekick, Wave and the Surge are on my wish list.
The Sidekick is the same as the Wingman with a saw instead of scissors.
Just got my Wave last week. Such a great tool.
Wave+ I EDC.
Surge in my 'go-bag'.
All I've ever needed.
I do hope LM will make the leap to *industry standard 1/4" bits* though!
They'll first make the leatherman PlusWaveChargeTTi-g10
@@urjnlegend 😆😆😆😆
The crunch supports 1/4" bits and the Leatherman signal(and mut I believe) can fit a 1/4" bit but loosely.
I work in film & TV and keep one on my belt which I use daily. Amazing product in a world of subpar manufacturing, shitty quality control and planned obsolescence. Kudos to your amazing product and the people who manufacture it.
So glad to see they're American made...gonna get one soon!!!
Thank you Tim Leatherman!
Truly the best quality product in market... I love all their products...
Just ordered a wave+, can't wait to get it!
I still carrying Leatherman PST 1997 every day on my belt
Letherman is amazing tool, i got 4 of them and happy with that.
The Wave is definitely my favorite Leatherman. I got my 1st Wave for Christmas 2013 and it instantly became my favorite, I carried it everyday since I got it. I still have my 1st Wave but I just put it into semi-retirement as I got a Wave+ for Christmas 2022. I'd love to one day vist and be able to take a tour of the factory.
Love mine great product. Thanks for the video
I grew up with a Victorinox pocket knife, but once I joined the workforce, I needed a tool with pliers. I saw the external knife blade on the Wave, and was instantly intrigued. I saved up and bought one, and have loved it ever since! The hardest part is keeping it clean and not jamming up the tension between the tools with grime. My favorite features are still the external knife blade and the pliers that are deployed with the flick of a wrist.
I carry my REV daily and keep my wave in my truck I’m a leather man fan for life
Awesome !!
I love my Titanium handled leatherman, I use it at work every day.
Still holding up?
I got my first Leatherman in the 1990s while serving in the US Navy and since then. I always have one on me at all times.
Never had an issue with my Wave and that little ikeda tooth designed saw really works fast and with such precision.
I love leatherman tools. Excited for what's to come
Tim Leatherman and Steve Berlinger were table tennis friends. I was in the same engineering class with Tim in Oregon State University. He was a much better player than me then. He was a very nice and friendly guy, quiet and hard working too, and everyone is happy and proud that he is successful. I own one of those knives, but seldom use it because it is too nice to mess up. Well done, Tim, and Steve, excellent product.
and now they make cheap fucking garbage. he should be ashamed of himself. completely destroyed his name.
My black Leatherman Wave was the best Christmas gift I’ve ever gotten from my boss
Keep making Waves, Leatherman! 👍🏽
my EDC is a leatherman Surge. Leatherman is hands down, the very best multi-tool company on Earth. I had a custom leather sheath made for mine, way back when I first got it, and have not spent a single day without it on my belt, since. I use it for pretty much everything!
you got duped my man
this is not just a brand , it should be a legend. best multi tool ever....
Leatherman Sidekick, my favorite. Compact with spring loaded pliers. Carry those more than the other four Leatherman's I own. The Wave is a good tool however.
Last Line of Defense got me into the Leatherman line up. I have the Skeletool, CS Style, and the Signal. I'm good with those. I have actually used it with some torque and was pleasantly surprised that it held up and didn't bend or break.
Love my leatherman ST 300 and I just today got my crater x33 delivered
Excellent!
Just bought a Leatherman Surge stainless steel finish. Brilliant piece of kit.
I’ve had my wave for about 16 years & iv used it for everything. Great tool 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 &&&&& I just had it restored by Leatherman, under their 25 year warranty and it’s like brand new..... the best Multi-tool ever !!!! 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Iceman 213 I’ve had mine 15 years ...how do I get it restored and what do they restore?
I don’t know of anything wrong with mine. 🤔
I think they keep the one you send in and just send back a fully refurbished one. That's how they turn around warranty claims so fast.
Indawg Wetrust when you send it in ... you have to specify that you want the same one . Too Some people it has sentimental value... if not they will send you a replacement.
I enjoy all my 3 Leatherman. Surge in the truck, Wave in the woods, Squirt Ps4 on me all the time. All of them are solid as rock! plus you have a peace of mind with their 25 years warranty. Will buy the Signal topo soon. Awesome company! Awesome quality!
I've carried a leathermen for 25 years. Lost one and broke one and my third is still going strong. Going to give it to my son when he's old enough to use it. He's 9 yrs old now. Thank you leathermen for always being on my waist side when I need you.
I'll bet Tim isn't driving no beater cars anymore! What a great American success story!
It's the best. And Mr. L is a very blessed entrepeneur!!!
Best of the best - leather man surge.
I have had my Wave for close to 16 years. It has been used for so many jobs I can not even begin to count. My collegues call her my wife and when she is in for repair or maintenance I feel totaly naked and lost without her.
You need a backup. Always work with a net!
Awesome video. The Wave is still their best all around multitool. 😀👍
Got the MUT, Surge, Sidekick, Tool, Super Tool, Juice CS4, Juice C2, Rebar, Skeletool, Style PS, Piranha II, even the Mini Tool... But still love my good old Wave. Respect Tim Leatherman and thanks for these super inventions ! Guy.
Р2, Р4
Glad to have a leatherman
I dont think i ever knew a Marine or solider who didnt have at least 1 leathermen when i was in Iraq. Almost everyone kept it on their belt and had a pouch on the vest to carry it when they wore a plate carrier. A solid very useful tool for anyone to have. Like a comment said below ive never sharpened the one i used to carry when i was active duty and it never wasnt able to cut cords or whatever i need it too.
I luv LuV LUV my Leatherman tools.
I had a cousin lose his to the TSA. He was boarding a plane and forgot he had it in his pocket.
It was a nice souvenir one too, given to him by a seed company rep.
What a great success story & well deserved Mr Leatherman!
@@chrisgray3650 was it plier based?
Had my wave for over 10 years now , wouldn’t be without it
Best tool I own.
I bought mine in 1995, a few hours after my job was closed off. My Super Tool has been with me around the world. It has fixed cars, firearms, cameras, video cameras & professional audio gear. At my cousin's wedding the bow tie clips were bent on their suits so out comes Mr Leatherman to the rescue. I still use mine to fix my computer if I am away from the office.
Awesome!
As the owner of many Leatherman multi tools, I can attest of the durability of these tools. Plus the warranty is unparalleled!
