It’s watching scenes like this that make you realize that castle can be cold enough to be a villain. And he definitely has the right qualities and know-how to be the best, most effective, and most dangerous villain the show could’ve ever seen

You know, I like that we consistency with Jerry’s character and what he enjoys, just like he says in Probable Cause what he really enjoys isn’t the killing- it’s the set-up, the anticipation and tormenting and toying with the people he wants revenge on, and we see that in each episode he’s in after his episode debut- in Kick the Ballistics he uses Ryan’s gun to kill somebody, next time in Probable Cause is Castle and framing him for murder, in Disciple he makes clones of Esposito and Lanie, and Resurrection and Reckoning is Beckett’s turn and using her to mess with Castle- is 3XK the best returning villain of Castle? Even more than Bracken? Yes, yes he is.
Kind of reminded me of scene from the season 7 opening episode of NCIS with DiNozzo in Castle's spot and Gibbs in Esposito's. Epic scenes both of them.
Unlike Palent in Bones, I still liked Tyson as an antagonist. I could have stood to see him a little more because he would pop up and through in some twist and then bow out for a good while. Then, SURPRISE, is it him or not? Is he dead? Etc. Yeah he was interesting. But at least they didn't drag him out forever...
When the storyline in this show involved the main plot or sub plot those episodes where damn intense and brilliant ...the villian of the week episodes were good but the main plot like braken , loksat were done brilliantly i wished that it had more seasons so loksat could have taken 2 to 3 seasons to explore since castle missing time was unaccounted also i would have loved to see 3xk as the main villian of whole season rather than just 2 episodes the actor and his character was brilliant..he had pure hate and jealousy towards castle unlike other villians who wanted them dead to save their careers
After seeing this episode and how they closed out the 3xK storyline, I have NO DOUBT in my mind that they won't flawlessly explain Castle's disappearance! I cannot wait for that! When they were showing those scenes, I knew Castle was talking to someone else because if he were just talking to himself, he would've whispered so no one else would hear him. Rysposito always got his back! I love this show!!
I'm afraid, that we are going to see an epic cliffhanger at the end of the season on that topic and we will be hitched for the summer :) in fact, if I was the writer, I would write it the way, that Espo would, based on this episode, belive in Castle when Becket would hesitate (baby hormones :)). That's just me.
Shavawn92 it was a good show but those last two seasons in particular were pretty weak despite some good episodes. I kind of want a fan edit where they narrow it down to a 6 season story that takes the best stuff from the last 4 seasons to give it a worthy structural ending.
Castle got the satisfaction Tyson‘s girlfriend,Dr. Neiman,will never see her boyfriend again after all the trouble they gave to not only their victims but also to Castle & Beckett.
When he turns back castle didn't move an inch and watched him died.....he knew 3xk couldn't shot him after taking a bullet because he dont have much power.....that's what makes CASTLE a genius....he is accurate thug life...😎😎😎
i guess i'm not a sociopathic killer, but if i had faked my death over 2 years ago, i'd have stayed gone. i'd be in some tropical paradise drinking umbrella drinks and laughing at the people who couldn't catch me. i certainly wouldn't have gone back to get caught or killed.
It's like Castle said, Tyson had to prove that he was smarter than everyone else, so he wouldn't stay gone. Castle was just smart enough to use it to his advantage. Thank god for Ryan and Espo otherwise this would have never worked.
i feel like Tyson was like the riddler trying to prove he was smarter than everyone but because he was so confident and arrogant he walked into his own trap
Although Castle tells Tyson that he has written about killers like him, the line about Tyson needing to prove how smart he is harkens back to Season 2's Tick, Tick, Tick episode where the FBI profiler played by Dana Delaney said the exact same thing about some serial killers. Castle's line could have just as easily made that connection. I know I am being picky because the scene is great as is.
Plot twist: The person that they actually killed was Michael Budreau and the real Jerry Tyson is still alive. Just you wait. This guy will have more twists than Jigsaw combined. I really hope that isn't the case because such a good character would have ended at its peak, but this is television where they like to milk everything.
They tried to milk, Beckett's mother's murder thing, and they almost blew it. They wouldn't touch this one, if they know what's good for the show. 3xk is the one storyline in Castle, that has always garnered people's awe. And they truly did justice to it. I hope they wouldn't touch it. PS : There is one flaw though. Nieman was supposedly a black belt in two forms of martial arts (As stated in "Disciple"). As good as Beckett is, how did she get taken down with just one hand?
Subhadip Ghoshal If Beckett was able to control he scalpel (even one handed) all she would need to do is slice open an artery whether in the neck, in the arm or wrist or leg and creepy doc would bleed out in minutes and all the black belts in the world couldn't stop it.
Richard Cumberlin I agree, which is what she probably did, a perfect assassination move, slit the jugular. But she would have had to wrestle the scalpel out of Nieman's hand. I suppose she got the drop on her, and Nieman really didn't know how to react any more, as she didn't really have any combat experience so to speak of.
Remember the episode before this one? That tooth of Jerry Tyson didn't match the "Michael Boudreau". I think Boudreau pretended to taunt castle in this scene, as a step of Tyson being careful.....Tyson is still out there.....

I like that this wasn't an insta-kill. It was nice that Tyson had a little bit of time to fully recognize how badly he got out-played.
Even then, I doubt he recognized it since he was shocked at the fact that he played right into Castle's trap.
3xk was the best antagonist in the show. Had some Red John resemblances. Not only the actor but the way he played Castle and Beckett at some points.

This scene and when Kate escaped may have made this episode my favorite in the entire series. So awesome so so awesome.

They needed him alive, just in case, and they had a trained marksman who could have aimed for his shoulder. Poor writing.
