    You want people to push hard as they can to make the pex pipe bend? Sounds like they will push it through the bottom of the tank. Do you know how hard it is to bend cold pex pipe, especially with cold water running through it? And their tank is old.
    We can use.a lesson on proper black tank flushing on units with flush connections. Help them not to overflow sewage into their coaches. I read about this alot.
    Thanks

    I use that Pex the first of every month to deep clean our black tank. We are full time. Also flush it out with Dawn.
    My water hose which is a zero g type has the ball valve on it.

    Camco sells a hose adapter to do what you suggest. Can usually be found at Walmart.

    Good tips! I can't imagine they didn't at least check the toilet before taking possession!

      Our other old RV broke down on the way moving up from Phoenix, AZ so hitched a ride over to pick up this RV with no extra time to check it out. 35 year friendship made us think we could trust him. Turned out a nephew had stayed in it before it was parked. Yes mistakes were made & lessons learned.

    Hose valves are common in most hardware stores, in the gardening section!

    Really enjoy your content. You Rock it Todd! I'm considering your training. However, being full time I will be waiting until our next multiple month stay, when I have reliable Internet (use cellular and Starlink).

    I use 3/8” copper tubing in the same way. I crushed the open end to make it like a jet. You don’t have to though. Shoots pretty hard already.

    Thank you Tod for answering my question! And yes he is a former friend. We will be ordering the parts right after Christmas to give it a try.
    Thank you again!

      There’s one fitting that Todd didn’t mention. You really should add a check valve onto the valve. A backflow prevention device is required according to plumbing code to ensure there’s no chance that you’ll contaminate the source water. The check valve should be installed so that the water from your garden hose will only flow into the tank. Good luck with your project to get rid of the infamous “poop pyramid “.

    • @lowbudgetbob1155
      @lowbudgetbob1155 Před 7 měsíci +2

      @@allan6021 there's no need for a check valve when doing something like this. What Todd described is a way to flush the tank, not hook a permanent water source to it. There's no "code" for a pooper power wash...

    • @allan6021
      @allan6021 Před 7 měsíci

      @@lowbudgetbob1155 All permanent black tank flush lines installed by the RV factory have a vacuum breaker/check valve because it’s code! Even those tank flusher wand gadgets have a check valve. So if you’re going to do a DIY version you should have a check valve.

    Every time we leave a camp ground, we dump our tanks then pour 10 gallons of hot water with Calvin, tide and cascade dissolved in it. Half goes in black tank the other 5 gets split between our galley tank and grey as we, have 3. It sloshes around and helps clean up the tanks while we drive. When we get home we dump them. Our RV sits half the summer so I put water and RID-ex. In our black tank then in fall drain and winterize.

    Todd question for you we winterized our rig then went to FL. For two weeks we are going to rewinterize it to go back North the campground we are at I can't get a good clean out of the black tack so can I add the unique tank cleaner to the rv antifreeze so it will breakdown solids while driving back or will it delute the antifreeze and cause freezing in the black tank ??? It will be about 1/2 gallon antifreeze to 4 ounces of unique product
