This season is the making of Leverkusen and the downfall of Thomas Tuchel. That man should be embrassed with his job at Bayern.
@@Hamilton8timeChampionyou really can’t be putting all the blame on Tuchel. He had a pretty decent run up until the Leverkusen match. From then on things started falling apart which definitely wasn’t a tactical failure on Tuchel’s part but rather the unwillingness of the team to put in a major effort in all of their games CL or Bundesliga alike. Has Tuchel made some tactical mistakes throughout their most recent defeats? He surely has. But you can’t deny that they’ve been overemphasized in relation to the player’s mentality problem which was already around when Nagelsmann was still in charge. Tuchel is gonna prove himself at his next club just like he has in all of his prior appointments.
Okay, at the this point getting the bundesliga title is easy now, but the main objective is even harder, an undefeated season must achieve.
@@rexwalter6775 He is playing Dier who sucks. His players don't listen to him, he is leaving kim Min-Jae on the bench, he broke up the partnership of kimmich and goreztka. He has made so many tatical errors. This failure is on him.
@@Hamilton8timeChampion he had stabilized the defense big time even compared to Flick and definitely compared to Nagelsmann. As I’ve said, you’ve gotta analyze his performance up until the Leverkusen match apart from what succeeded in the aftermath. Prior to the match they’ve had a really solid defense and their overall points tally was pretty decent even by Bayern standards.
The fact that after the defeat to Leverkusen the team fell apart in that manner speaks to a lack of professionalism and respect towards the fans on the players part. Admittedly Tuchel has apparently lost his authority over the players. Still you can’t pin point this particular constellation as a general weakness in Tuchels managerial career. He had to deal with probably the most ego driven cabin in world football at PSG and did an excellent job at that time getting them to the CL final.
Bottom line, Tuchel is still a world class manager who for the first time in his career has somehow failed to leave a better team behind than the one he found at the time of his appointment. No big deal. Happened to Mourinho, happened to Ancelotti, happened to Emery, Conte and many other great football coaches.

Whilst we can all acknowledge that Bayern have been poor in the Tuchel era, we mustn’t lose sight of just how good Leverkusen have been this season. Still unbeaten and would’ve challenged for the title in any other season the way they have played. Worthy champions and hopefully there is more to follow in seasons to come.
