    What Dave says in the beginning... Exemplifies EVERYTHING The Last Jedi got right about Luke and throws away the God-like misconception that a lot of "fans" have of that character....

    • @nineleafclover
      @nineleafclover Před 3 lety +3

      The Last Jedi utterly erased the meaning of Luke throwing away his lightsaber by having him almost murder his nephew for a much lesser offense than anything committed by Vader. It undid Luke's character growth in an unconvincing way.

    Just to point out the bleeding obvious that some may miss: Dave Filoni's words speak true to the core exploration of the Force and the Jedi and the Sith in the sequel trilogy as much as they speak to the heart of Rebels. The Force is not about abilities, it is more than that. Rey thinks it's about lifting rocks, and defeats the return of the ultimate evil with knowledge and defence, not attack. Filoni is a fan of The Last Jedi, just look at the parallels found in the last four episodes of The Clone Wars, and Rian Johnson taught him directly how to shoot a scene in live-action during the filming of The Last Jedi. It's amazing and if you love The Mandalorian and what Filoni and Favreau are coming up with, you have to admit that they are only doing this BECAUSE the sequel trilogy exists. They are going to continue to honour those films but slowly connecting the dots in interesting ways I cannot wait for.
    Star Wars is not about competition. It's about love and life and positivity. You can dislike something, but don't use love for one thing to tear down something else. That is only hatred disguised as love. A Sith trait indeed.

    • @Verebazs
      @Verebazs Před 3 lety +2

      There is no sequel-trilogy. It's rehashed, licensed fanfiction, and that's an objective fact separate from my subjective opinion of them being trash films.
      "Dave Filoni's words speak true to the core exploration of the Force and the Jedi and the Sith"
      Filoni says the exact opposite of what those trash films posit. He says the Light and Dark are about being selfless vs selfish, while the rehash-trilogy went with this mindnumbingly stupid misinterpretation of putting Dark and Light on a scale and balancing them out so that they're equal.
      "The Force is not about abilities" Yet the plot of the rehash-trilogy can be summed up "MaRey Sue pulls out a new Force ability from her arse every time she encounters something to overcome it without any trouble"
      "defeats the return of the ultimate evil with knowledge and defence"
      Knowledge she did not earn by studying, but by the virte of being the granddaughter of said ultimate evil.
      Now, I'll admit TLj has by far and away the best story in this trainwreck of a trilogy, (and anyone who wants to argue that, Spidermen: Into the Spiderverse is the same story, so you're wrong), but it's execution is still bafflingly incompetent. Like seriously, they have the nerve to put the line "Greatest teacher failure is." into Yoda's mouth, while talking Luke, who spent his entire first two movies learning from his failures, eventhough they never let MaRey Sue fail in any significant way? How can anyone be so tonedeaf?

      In return of the Jedi Luke sacrifices himself to try and turn his father back to the light side one of the most evil people at that time yet in the last Jedi he senses a little bit of dark side in Ben and immediately goes to kill him then later in the movie he taunts Ben and doesn’t do anything to try and turn him good why the hell would Luke do that!?
      if you say he changed offscreen then that’s extremely lazy writing that doesn’t show or tell us why he’s changed all it does is say he’s changed guys...

    • @dougalbadger4918
      @dougalbadger4918 Před 2 lety +1

      Rey grows up on a desert planet fighting a few criminals with a pole which doesn’t prepare you for what fighting with a sword feels like and yet she’s able to defeat kylo ren a highly trained first order sith with years of training and she beats him because she remembers the force exists and without any practice she uses it to defeat kylo who has years of knowledge and experience with the force to out skill her in everything she knows yet she wins.
      In the last Jedi she defeats a bunch of snokes guards still with no training mind you because the movie starts right after force awakens ends.
      she also knows how to swim perfectly because growing up on a dessert planet that she said she’s never left before apparently allows her to be a great swimmer...

    • @dougalbadger4918
      @dougalbadger4918 Před 2 lety +1
