Definitely works. There are endless videos on how to adjust the tension on Andis clippers because access to the tension prong is right under the blade. But there aren’t any Wahl videos because you actually have to remove the housing to adjust the tension. So great video!!!

My Wahl 5 star basically started tugging within the first month. I always adjusted the power screw, adjusted the blade gap and oiled it but it never really worked. I noticed that whenever I added some more length with the thumb lever it started working properly again, never knew it was because of the tension. This fixed my issues completely. I was literally at my wits end with this thing. Thanks!

Do you have the cordless one? Because mine it's like they repel hair. And when I use for example my 1 guard for a fade I must go multiple times to a point I have to push hard to the skin, left side is light than the right side... my blades are well aligned. But this issue about not taking off the hair is giving me poor results cause I have to dig into the hair to remove hair.. hope you can tell me something about it cause I haven't got any answer from barbers...

Thank you very, very much for this video. My clippers were making a terrible noise after dropping them and no adjustment could make them work normally again. For me it was impossible to adjust properly the two torx screws on the side.
I used a scale and put 2lb of pressure as instructed, as I'm not from the US or UK, we don't use imperial measures. After tightening the screws, turned the clippers on and they were back to normal.

Hi, when setting the blades up I was told to set the right hand side a fraction higher than the left, as when the clipper is running it doesn't move in a perfectly straight line, because the armature is on a pivet..
When you do this and turn the clipper on and look at the blades, it appears to be a straight line. Is this true or is it an optical illusion?

I went to a barber about 3 weeks ago and he gave me a fade that made my head really inflamed afterwards. He used a 1.5 guard, so he did get pretty close to the skin, but my biggest concern is that ever since I got that haircut, I've had huge patches of missing hair that aren't growing back. All the inflamed areas basically now have hair loss. Do you think it could be due to his clipper yanking out my hair instead of cutting?
