Let me tell ya something lil homie... I started cutting when I was 14 and I’m now 43 and own a very successful barber shop!! If you set your mind to it and stay focused it’s a very achievable goal!! My advice is baby steps... do something a little better each day than you did the day before!!! I wish you all the success in the world!!! We need young up and comers in our industry!!! Good luck and Barber love from Jeff’s Barber Shop in Michigan!!!💈☘️💈☘️💈☘️💈
Aljae Clarke good luck to you youngsta!!! If you stay focused and PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE you can definitely achieve that goal!!! Cut anyone that will let you!! Even if it’s for free, it only ups your game and sharpens your skills!!! I’m 43 and own my own shop for 5 years now but it only happened thru lots of years of hard work and determination!!! Best of luck to you and barber love from Jeff’s Barber Shop in Michigan!!☘️💈☘️
Great tips and good reminders on doing line ups. thanks

2. negative gapping
3. incorrect angling
4. creating lines without references
5. not brushing/combing

Jesus Christ loves you all ❤️Repent (change your mind to start living for God) and accept Jesus into your heart as your personal Lord and Savior for the free gift of eternal life(Heaven). Have a personal relationship with Him (as a child would have with a parent). God doesn't want anyone to go to hell! 2 Cor 6:2 KJV “now is the day of salvation. Tomorrow isn't promised!!!! God Bless!
"Caring about your client or caring about a picture on Instagram that your posting." Love that. Great tips 👌🏻
Yes that was so well put!!! Perfectly worded!!!👍👍👍💯💯💯💯

It's refreshing to see a brother speak publicly without saying the word "uh" in every sentence. Your words were well placed and thought out. Keep up the good work, and thanks for the tips.
Obama does it, quite often. Yet speaks very intelligently
Refreshing to hear a well spoken brother. I agree there is no 'uh' nor 'uhm' or 'you know what I'm sayin' and frequent use of slangs. He sounds intelligent and his message is clear and easy to understand.
Do you not notice all the edited cuts in the video? Why do you think that is?
Been cutting my own hair for almost 30 yrs and learned these same techniques over time, I wish there were videos like this back then, all the beginner and home barbers this man is dropping jewels 💎
Same brother.. some of those beginning self-cuts was rough 😂
@@samgunz1 For real 🤣
I love that you are detailed, you give very clear and precise reasons with explanations.
Perspective! Helped me the most since the client does usually look at me like “did you just mess up?” so i was kinda of insecure of stepping back looking from different angles once the client was walking away i noticed i could’ve done a better job if I had only walked around the head looking for different perspective. And also excessive brushing a lil ocd in my case. Thank you
I like what you said about perspective, “You have to constantly change it to make sure the moves you made were the right moves to make”. Can apply that to both barbering and life, a lot of jewels dropped here. Thank you 👌🏾
Great video. Super necessary for anyone that is cutting hair to watch this video. I’ve definitely picked up some pointers I never realized before I was even doing. Thanks 💪🏼
Thanks bro!!!!
The reference points and the finger under the clippers helped 1000%.
Thanks again and Peace and blessing!!!!!!
I like the video before it started. Love the fact you took the time out to put all of this information together
Definitely helped. I was bad about taking the hairline too far back and pressing against the skin. I appreciate you my man. Excellent video.
Appreciate the detail you go into explaining the rights and wrong of a proper lineup. Too many barbers go ahead and do something without truly understanding why things need to be a certain way. Wish i found your page earlier, dope stuff
you said it bro. It's important to know what to do and what not to do to efficiently understand why you do.
Your zero-gapping advice is spot on. There is a lot of misinformation out there. I followed another video and adjusted my blades with no space, tested it on my arm, and it cut me immediately. I readjusted the cutting blade to slightly below and now they are perfect... cutting sharp enough with no nicks.
Literally have 7 cuts on my hand lmao
Thank you for the game my brother! I’ve been cutting myself for years but this was great to hear. Thank you
I’m halfway through barber college getting my barbers degree and I absolutely love this I stumbled on this I subscribed and I will be definitely watching your videos thank you
Big ups from Toronto ! Excellent content my brotha. The way you break down your videos is really good. This vid was crazy helpful. Keep up the great work. 👍🏾
Thanx Kev.. Very clear and thoroughly articulated advice. Very helpful video! ✊🏾
This was very informative! I will work on improving my system with these tips ! Thank you!
The sound and the editing on your videos are on another level. Excellent info. I struggle with finger placement it just feels unnatural to me for some reason.
All you vids are straight gems! Keep doing your thing kev, we all appreciate it 🔋🔋🔋
Really appreciate that man. I’ll keep uploading as long as you keep watching, haha 🙏🏾

The angle of the blade help me out tremendously. Thank you 🙏

This is so valuable. Everyone who cuts new and old should be watching this 👍🏼
Man, that was so helpful. Thank you. Liked and subscribed.
Always been interested in cutting hair. I figured I'd learn on my own son head so i took it CZcams before actually ever going in on him just so i can see how to go about it correctly, safely & not leaving my kid bogus lol. Ive seen alot of tutorials weeks on weeks worth & only up until i came across some of your videos did i feel comfortable enough watching em bc i really do feel like im taking something away from each video & learning clearly. I am now binge watching every video you ever made lol & i feel confident in my progressing barber talents 😊
I let u cuty hair
Channels like yours inspire me so much bro!❤️🙏🏽

Loved the vid. Great intell. Resting the finger and angling top blade at 90° was an ingenious suggestion! Thank you! Very helpful as I can be heavy handed with clients.
You do an EXCELLENT job bro with your technical & communication skills!!
Do you have a video that you discuss point 4 (creating lines with reference points)?
Thanks again for sharing your knowledge

You said it bro 🙌🏾
Very good young man I love ur humblest and ur will teach others... I learned alot
Thanks bro I'm looking to get into cutting and this really was a nice intro for me #bigsalute
Future barber here. Thanks very much!!! Changing perspective and angling really helped me out. I realized changing perspective is something I fail to do and I think that’s where my hairlines go left!!! 🎉❤❤
Also glance away from ur cut every 30 seconds. I remember before I went to barber school I thought every barber just liked looking at everybody when it fact it's a technique so you won't develop tunnel vision. We were taught if we run into an obstacle turn around drop ur comb in the barbercide, clean off your clippers, retrieve your comb then turn back to the cut. Trust me it works. Quick restart now it's fresh to you and you will definitely see your problem areas. Wish u all success!
Broski...yo! I've been cutting for 20+yrs. Ive learned a ton from ur video about the Perfect edge-up...
you a good barber bc everything you say i already did in the 80's effortlessly

Makenson Badinga 😂😂 gotta be specific out here
Facts tho....hair not skin
Angling was is a real problem for me. I'd often cut my skin and leave scars. I'll put these references to the test. Thank you🙏
Yo started watch this because I have been cutting my hair since college and for the past 20 something years I have been cutting my kids hair as well. So now I'm in that stage in life of a change in things and want to start cutting hair for a business. I'm south of Colorado where have Fort Lewis College and there is not alot of barbers but one or two that cut the black athletes here so I wanted to change that look at class to take and get it moving forward.
Dropping Gems 💎 🔥
