not everyone can afford a $100 plus jersey. I buy my jerseys from dh gate. Some fakes are really nice.

theres a brilliant fake shirt shop here in hanoi, I love it. nothing wrong with fake shirts as long as you don't sell them as real

Aaaargh! Can we stop using the term “replica” to mean fake. A replica shirt is an official shirt sold by the club / manufacturer / legit sports outlets. It’s always been that way but recently people keep saying “replica” to indicate a non legit shirt. 😬

The issue for me is the £70 for a basic, new shirt, which is a rip off. Tottenham are still selling last seasons old shirt for £48.75. I saw Glasgow Rangers selling theirs for £10. Even Retro shirts in Spurs shop (with a Made in China tag in them) cost £40. If clubs were less greedy they could kill the fake market stone dead.

I actually don't care about whether their fake or not, some of the ones I have brought have been real, others have been fake. I've been buying football shirts since the mid 1970s. the cost of them now is crazy. the only thing I care about is the price, regardless whether their real or not.

You do realise that genuine shirts are also produced at low cost of probably around £3/4 max with the factory making kittle mark up on that with most of the margin going to the brand. I'm not advocating fake shirts but maybe it's a way for East Asian factories to increase their own margins by selling direct to the end consumer...

Love buying the new kit for 15 euros from the suppliers in China, with name N number, if I want official shirts I go for special shirts or proper deals, as far as workers rights they are same as adidas N Nike official

Its time to stop selling football shirts for 120€ (atleast my team, Real Madrid) with no other alternatives than a replica one. Like come on bro, I just want to support my team without getting broke, these brands (Nike, adidas..) really have no heart and obv they don’t care about us, so I really don’t care on getting “fakes”

Good video Ellis. I would argue that the quality isn't always horrendous as you say you can't always tell and the fact they are pretty good and 60/70 % Less in value so people tend to choose the good fake. But there is value in both sides to this. The clubs have and brands have some of the blame to sponsor. I bet the twelve pound fake will cost about the same as a genuine shirt but then they lump on an extortionate mark up on each Jersey.

I'm not pumping £80's every year (sometimes more if it gets ruined in the wash or even say a pet claws it whilst worn) plus I also like to get the away/third kit so right away that's £240 not even including shipping. Just for a trial I purchased an 'Authentic' Player shirt alongside the Official kit and the differences aren't blindingly obvious and for the price drop you can't complain. Let's face it the fact that it's not easy to tell that some of these shirts are fake means we're all being conned, I saw my mate wearing the brand new Liverpool kit and it looked damn near real sure okay if you're well into your clothing you'd be able to probably spot the very minor differences but for just going to the ground on matchday it's fine. I pay enough a year for my United season ticket.

Great video mate, will really help a lot of people. Comparing to CFS & product codes are the most effective way of spotting authentic shirts I've found, stitching & print quality, material etc. all worth looking at for anyone out there 👍🏻
