    Thank you so much !!! Your content is excellent and the language you value deserves more attention that what it has today in Cameroon

    Omg I just feel like am listening to a Sierra Leonean and I've noticed the similarities in the way you say certain things in your videos. We have Lie tin, na wetin, whoside you komot, witch tin, waka, tif tin, nyanga, chop, and ashia in our local language Krio and they mean exactly the same things.

    You say those soft pidgins words/phrases in such a way that involuntary participation is invoked. I listened to myself doing the translations too. You so good at dramatic monologue.

    As a french cameroonian we should explore more this language. We're multilanguage but we just value french and a bit english.
    This cameroonian pidgn should be value as a third official language.

      Good morning. Please, I'm a Nigerian student carrying out a research on West African pidgin, one of which is Cameroon Kamtok. I just want to ask if there's any Kamtok based forum that I can join to gather enough data on usage and interaction of Kamtok for my research.
      Thanks.

    As a french speaker i did not know that nyanga,njoh, Waka and Assia as we say it in french were from pidgin. And also "mop" cuz the french speakers use it to say " to kiss" like " il m'a mop" for "he kisses me" but actually it means "mouth" so funny. Thks ooh so cool. I would love to be able to speak good pidgin english!

    • @kennakea

      Yes I feel like Nigerian pidgin is more like English

    • @benmowete5329
      @benmowete5329 Před 4 měsíci +1

      More like English because we tend to anglicise our spellings. The example u gave, a Nigerian would spell, "how far now?" But would pronounce, "ha far na?" Another example would be, "him dey lie up and down," would be pronounced, "im/in dey lie upandan," meaning, "he lies a lot."

    • @benmowete5329
      @benmowete5329 Před 4 měsíci

      Also depends on the class of the speaker and also part of Nigeria the speaker is from. In the Niger Delta region where I'm from and where pidgin English is usually a first language "thing " is pronounced "tin," "like this" is "laidis," etc. So yes, they are same with same meanings in naija pidgin except for loan words from ur local languages, which also exist in naija pidgin. Hearing words like bone, claim, feel...u could easily be speaking naija pidgin coz it's same meaning, same context.
