I think you should make a price list of the different services you provide and adjust as needed. If someone wants personalized one and is requesting more info, tell them you charge consultation because of past experience.

I can feel your pain,I suggest you create a price list according to category say from 20k upwards, e.g for ladies,(birthday, suprise, baby shower ,valentine Day) and same for guys. when the clients comes to you , present the list ,then they can select category then tell you which extra item you should add to the package they want.

I don’t think consultation fees would work but advanced payment definitely 👌. As a client if I came to purchase a gift basket, it’s more like online shopping for me and the consultation fee might just push your costumers away. What I think you should do is organise your business in packages and give the price list with packages like prestige, vip, luxurious for instance and let them know that after the deposit you guys will work together on what the basket will contain. The bonus you can give them is max pictures of your ex commands so the know what to except to avoid people trolling you on the internet saying you took their and gave them trash. In this way both parties have security and the client can always give feedbacks regarding their order like say what they don’t like so you can adjust. Ps: just my thoughts, hope it helps ❤

Whenever someone asks, especially when you think they're not going to patronize you, just tell them that when they're ready, you'll know what to do, or simply tell them you can't share your ideas anyhow. I accompanied a friend in 2012 to the American Embassy, she was denied (she was told she looks like someone who’ll deny coming back after her studies). A lady accompanied her 16 y/o son who had just gained admission, he was given but his mum was denied. Those people are just the way they are, they have their very good days and on other days they give a minimal number of visas.
