Are you sure? Red, Granny and Wolf looked fine but the giant is ugly; his harp is disgusting, Hansel and Gretel are abominations.
One little correction: Red was played by Anne Hathaway in the first film, but Hayden Panettiere took her place in the sequel.

I remember this movie was shown at my old elementary or middle school for fun. No one was happy after watching it, we all hated it so much because every kid had sees the first and we just said, "Why does this exist?"

They did Wolf so dirty. In the original movie, Wolf wasn't actually 'too dumb to live' dimwit they turned him into in this movie. Sure, his methods weren't 100% effective, but he knew what he was doing and he got the job done. Most of the issues getting between him and his scoop not being by his own doing, such as when Twitchy lights the dynamite while they're in the mine shaft. Even then, Wolf's quick- if reckless- method of disposing it saves their tails. He is remarkably clever when he wants to be at times, nearly even fooling the villain.
But in THIS movie, Wolf is basically the dumb sitcom dad who has a big fat crush on Red. Yeah, that's the only way to describe wtf is going on here. Wolf's whole deal is that he's a 'wildcard' who 'needs Red to reign him in', and is for some reason quite obsessed with her in this strange frenemy sort of way? Wolf and Red worked out their issues at the end of the first film. I don't know what's supposed to be going on here.
Their relationship in this movie was really weird. The dialogue between them was really... Strange. It just didn't feel right.
I find the whole crush on Red thing to be SUPER weird, like, she's a child god dammit.
One thing you didnt mention is that at the end of Hoodwinked one, Wolf was hired *SPECIFICALLY* for his skills with disguises. At the very beginning of this movie, the Frog is yelling at wolf...that he keeps putting on disguises?!? Like imagine hiring a maid to clean your house, then you're mad that every time you come home, the place is cleaned.
As a maid I find this hilarious bc you have no idea how mad people get if you don’t do sht their way, even if it damages their home.
I’ve never once heard of Hoodwinked getting a sequel and I can’t imagine that’s a good sign

Something I remember hearing about this movie is the voice actor for Twitchy said to writers (not exactly sure could have been someone else but someone who worked on the script) that Twitchy seemed out of character compared to the first movie. And they just gave him a weird look that made him realize that they didn't care about the quality of the movie

The paradoxe about the two films Hoodwinked is
The first one have bad animation but it’s a good movie and the second one have ok animation but it’s a bad movie
The first movie was really substance over style. I liked the movie cus it was memorable, fun, unique.. I watched Hoodwinked too and it's extremely forgettable.. I don't remember shit. 😂

I thought the point of the bridge troll scene was to establish Little Red Riding Hood's character flaw was a short temper and at the end, the villains try trashtalking her into loosing her temper again.

My first exposure to "Hoodwinked" was when my dad caught my mom cheating and yelled "I've been HOODWINKED" so thats a fun little thing i think about anytime this movie is mentioned. Otherwise i literally never hear or see the word. 😅

I remember going to see this in theater. And the film reel ended up burning up mid way through and we all got a refund. Maybe was the best scenario 😂

My family loves the first movie, it’s nostalgic we have a lot of great memories with it. One time we decided to watch both movies back to back. During 1 everybody was engaged and laughing and conversing. We started watching 2 and nobody cared and we all zoned out after a while and went on our phones.
There isn’t an excuse to be on your phone while spending time with your family

I remember seeing the trailer for hoodwinked 2 like 3 years before it actually came out, i dont remember what year it was but if it was around 2009 I wouldve been like 10 and I was convinced I dreamt it up then saw the exact same trailer when it actually came out and was convinced I somehow time traveled. Looked it up and apparently the film was shelved or completely rewrote or something like that and was in post development hell for a while because they knew how shitty it was and didnt know when to release it
I did the exact same thing, I saw a trailer for it once and was just about convinced I had just been dreaming or something because I never saw another thing about it until years later.
The way I understood the callback fight scene as a child was that Red was PURPOSELY doing what Hansel and Grettel thought she would do. Like she knew people would assume she'd be impulsive and prideful and the plan was always to let them eat the truffles to their own demise. So it's like, the idea that she can now choose her actions and thinks more vs being purely reactive.
If I rewatch the movie now as an adult I wonder if that idea holds up at all still lmao.
Some movies doesn't need a sequel
I remember just two moments where this movie made me laugh: When the witch was trying to get the recipe from Granny by just asking for it over and over again, and Granny saying "You didn't say please", and the interaction that follows that, and the DCT franchises with a blantant disney reference "Disgustingly Cute Toys"

When young and a lot less critical of films I honestly didn’t question a lot of the design and story choices but now yeah I questioned why this even needed to be made.
I'd like to throw Fern Gully 2 into the ring for title of worst sequel ever made.

I remember how Burger King released a kid's meal for this movie TWICE. Once for when this was supposed to debut in theaters, and again for when it actually debuted and bombed at the box office.

Omg, I hated this movie so much when I was younger 😅 I remember really liking the first one and was excited to see the second one, but everything was just awful. I felt like this movie spent too much time referencing other famous movies and not enough on actually writing it’s own story. Hansel and Gretel definitely looked disturbing and the times when Red just couldn’t walk away from someone saying something drove me up a wall!

I did hear rumors that while they got the og director of the first movie down as both part of the writing staff and the voice of Twitchy. They gave the directing role to a man who was open about the fact that he didn't watch the original before, during, or after the release of the second. This sequal was doomed to fail.

These old movies always bring back so many memories of watching em when your young. So much so it brings up memories of other old ass movies you watched. One of which was Valiant, WW2 with British pigeons, German falcons and French mice, that movie has just been brought back into my mind from the furthers depths of my memory.

I watched this movie as a kid but completely forgot about its existence. It might be because of all the new characters and break neck pace you mentioned. I still have memories of the scenes like granny's escape using hairspray and Boingos Hannibal scene. but other than that, this movie just faded into obscurity for me.

I watched this when I was in the hospital after having a major surgery, and I don't remember any of it, lol.
I used to watch this semi regularly as a kid, and the only parts I actually remember are: Granny getting handcuffed to the flying bike, the head secret ninja lady going "Oh my" (or something) at finding the recipe gone, descent of the beanstalk, and . . . Hansel and Grettle becoming round. Everything else had been blocked out from my comprehensive memory.I actually had no recollection of the yodeller guy or the spider scene, even after they were brought up in the video.
In short I think I just wanted filler noise that I could tune out.
