I am currently owned by my 2nd greyhound rescue. They are fabulous animals and I LOVE this girl just as I loved her predecessor. They brighten your life.
Olliebic: I envy you.. ( in a good way) I do not have any, never have .. Yet since I was 11 years old I dreamt on having one.. I am old now ( over 60).. I cannot afford to buy one.. But I wish good families like you can adopt and care for such loving and beautiful creatures... Kudos..

They have such adoring and expressive eyes I melt every time I see one.. I always wish to have one.. But I do not have the money to adopt one! All my life I have wish for Greyhound not to be treated the way they are use for but for companions.. Their eyes are so expressive the first time I saw one when I was 11 years old and I fell in love with them.. I' am old now ( over 60) yet if I could have one I will give him/her all the love and care they deserve!
My sister used to adopt from the racetrack in Melbourne, Florida. She had a few over the course of about 20 years. The last one she had was named Leo...but I called him Doody because when he would go outside to tend to business, he would never choose one spot. He would drop a bit here and drop a bit there...anywhere from three to five or six spots. Lol! I miss Doody. He had the most splendid nose I have ever beheld! The Masters painted such splendid noses! My sister now lives in an apartment and it's not suitable for a pair of hounds...gotta have more than one! Three or four is ideal....but anyway, she looks forward to the day she can go back to the agency and meet foster families and take home the unwitting little creatures that will be petted and spoiled so bad they'll stink!
I have two massive boys and they use me as a pillow and demand to get their food delivered to them. They eat like Romans...lying down. They've trained me well...

But...when I got my hound, he would not stay under a sheet for more than a minute. NOW, however, he will come to bed, expect to get INTO the bed with me, under the blankets, and he will stay there all night..

absolutely adore this gentle giant of a breed. I have a whippet and a Greyhound. both display similar traits. BTW., what is the name of the background track. I simply loved it.
My greyhound jumps in bed with me and he pushes hard against me. So I have tears in my eyes, "he loves me so much." When in reality he is just trying to push me off the bed.
we had 2 that would get in bed with us and then stretch and push us out of the bed...i hit the floor in the middle of the night more than once....then I would get in HER bed......
I have 4 rescue-greys from Ireland. Wonderful creatures. But in Latin is Canis Leporinus ( meaning for Dog used for hare hunting ) from Latin to Italian : levriero
I owned a Whippet, a small greyhound, "my" Dear 13 kg Meggy. She died at the end of last June, by accident, and my heart will bleed for life. She was just adorable.

Surprising how most of the behaviors are size independent. My Italian Greyhounds have a similar operating temperature range. One of my girls roaches the other dose that whiny thing.

@@GreyhoundHomecare I'm currently on lock-down with them. They sleep in a crate at night and when I let them out in the morning, after doing their business and getting treats, they retire to the couch to sleep again. When they were young they'd have bouts of manic goofyness but they are 11 and 6 now and only the 6 year old will tear around the yard (once a day) but both have not really lost the puppy playfulness, just dialed down to about 5 from 11.
