- Why did i want this knife? The quality speaks for itself, custom knives can be pricy and there are cheeper alternatives on the market like the Morakniv but having a custom made knife gives you exactly what you want. Knives are tools and should be used as such and in bushcraft they are put through their paces, from processing firewood, carving, striking Ferro rods or food preparation they need to hold their edge and be tough and long lasting. When we buy a cheep knife we tend to treat it as such but when you buy a custom knife you tend to look after it a little more. This is only a small knife, the blade is 70mm long and the handle measures 85 mm making the total measurement 155 mm. I call it my utility knife, weighing in at 195g it sit’s comfortable allowing me easy access to a cutting tool when I need one. Often handy for cutting rope, small branches and that tasty biltong I take out when wild camping. There is a funny stigma about knives these days and with all the crime we cant blame people for feeling that way. But as an outdoorsman knives are tools like a chisel is to a carpenter. We have to show responsibility when we cary a knife, set an example to the youngsters and teach them that knives are not toys and they not there to be used inappropriately.
