- Billy Cardigan got to go behind the gear with the very cool Marc Okubo and Sam Applebaum from the Veil of Maya band. These very cool hard rock guys were doing a show at the TLA venue in Philly and took the time to show Billy the sweet gear they use, such as Axe FX and many different 7 stringed guitars. A wonderful time was had by all and very good and useful information about the stompbox pedals and effects was revealed as to how to make the rock sounding music and the djent and metalcore sound of music.

Veil of Maya is my favorite rock music.
They aren’t rock.
Rock? Really?
They do make cool rock music indeed

its actually "The Veil of Maya"
Probably the most awkward yet strangely hilarious interview I’ve ever seen.
Check out the one they do with dgd 😆 I totally thought were serious
marc was three seconds away from bitch slapping this guy in the beginning 😂😂😂
Dude I couldn’t even count with two hands how many times he passively dissed Marc like wtf lol bro there’s a reason HE’S being interviewed and you’re DOING the interview... fuckin bag O’douche if I ever seen one lmao
“You’re a normal looking guy with like a shirt” lol
This is without a doubt the greatest, most insightful "gear" interview (and even BEHIND the "gear") of all time. Rock that cardigan, Billy; it looks totally Rock!
"you are like a normal looking guy with a shirt"
Marc "yeah"
This is like if the weird kid wandered backstage with no prior knowledge of how bands or instruments work. I can't decide if I like that idea or not 😂
I'm both amused and mad at this interview.
You guys got me the first half ngl
I don't understand why these videos exist but I'm happy that they do
2 minutes in and I keep wondering what am I watching lmao
Damn and I thought for a split sec I finally found a real current veil rig run down...
Omg they are so stoned throughout this whole interview I love it lol. Plus Sam standing in the background holding Danny's bass is just great.
Thank u 4 this interview I have been fan of this very cool rock band for years and I had no idea theyre AxeFXBox played all the music from the computer. Just wish they built more muscles now
Very cool!!
This is very cool
best interview ever
Brilliant
Subbed. You guys give me gear reviews in the best way imaginable: Sarcastic and uncomfortably awkward. Fucking hilarious
Oh how I'd love to see Billy do a gear rundown with Joe Bonamassa. That could quite potentially turn violent. :)
Does this Joe Bonamassa have anger issues or is he known to be a violent person? If Billy is able to frustrate him to the point of violence, then that speaks more to Joe's need to seek professional help. We can recommend a licensed therapist here in Philadelphia named Cyti Gui.
@@SHYBOYZ Certainly Billy's rather, shall we say, 'rudimentary' gear knowledge would frustrate the vintage pedantry of a Mr. Bonamassa - which could indeed lead to violence (either from, or indeed against, Bonamassa). ;)
Nah I have interacted with Joe he is a very nice guy. (Then again, I'm a huge gear nerd who has played a crap ton of Joe's gear). He does make very cool rock music tho :)
My first time here, so i didn't get it at first, but even after i got it, i still didn't like it.
Very cool. Thier music isnt my cup tea but the guitar look really mfuckin rockin. thanks for the video brotha
God I love these. Please don’t ever stop.
I don't understand. These guys dont look like rock guys.
Right? They look like normal guys. But they are rock guys.
I met up with these guys in Norway back in 2009, Sam is just trolling as usual. And Marc is intelligently humouring the interviewers weirdness... ROCK music...hehe XD definitely Solid Rock Music...4 sure
It was awesome!
Lmao I *lost* it when he was talking about the whammy bar 😂😂 “is that just a piece of metal they forgot to take out when they built it?”
lol guys knows nothing about guitars or he was playing around
BEHIND THE GEAR!
This dude is a genius interview.. Reminds me of the Kyle interviews from Good Neighbors
How can he keep a straight face? I love this
These are really funny, you should do one with hail the sun or eidola
Something about your interviews oddly reminds me of Nardwuar. I dig it!
Best rock gear video. I only wish we could have heard that metruh-gnome (not sure how to spell it). 🙄 Sounds like it would have been rad. Rock on! Oh, also, which arena was this?
its metronome
@@jugalgogoi9113 hmmm. any ol' wayz, its rocl^H ROCK.
“So you don’t have a pedal?”
Wtf😂 this is hilarious!
Very funny xD
Teach me to be more rock.
My favourite part is when he called a clearly white guitar green
BIG MUSCLE BIG MAN HERE AM ROCK MAN AM STRONK
the funny interview still being done huh?
This was epico slap like now!
xD Took a bit of time to realise the joke...
yes
rok
why did i watch this whole video ?
This interview has me pissing myself
Rock xd
Please...tell me the interviewer was being a troll.....if not...wow....if so...bravo
You tell us.
Why would you assume that? He was just a bit nervous maybe, but did a great job!
Maya as in bawa Muhaiyaddeen fellowship warns of too much maya. ???
Seth & Todd are super talented musicians
This has to be a skit holy shit lol
I feel like he’s being interviewed by Eric Andre he sounds like a total tool trolling Marc🤦♂️ 🤣
Rock guy? Okay man
Illusory conditions = maya
2:00
It took me a minute to realize this was obviously all scripted 😂
This has got to be a joke right 1:56
This guy listen kpop!!!
Everybody should stop talking about Led Zepellin, and other legendary bands stuff and sound, cause it's getting to a point where that generation doesn't give a crap anymore. Im sorry but those questions over how the Fractal processor would make it sound like Roncanroll were very innapropriate, cause sounded like a guitarrist has to be enslaved to manage his effects directly during a performance for life, and now days that is something almost obsolete! You should to ask him HOW his main computer manages the chain of effects on time and what effects he uses out of the Axe Fx, since even the Grand dads of Metallica use it for their shows now days. Need to get more updated buddy. Don't waste your access to those artists by make him feel like the're being interviewed by and ignorant. They are here to entertain us and to share their artwork, not to educate us and remind us that classic rock is something already over talked and its also something that belongs to the past century... Greetings.
I'm new to this channel, I don't know the interviewer try to be funny or he SERIOUSLY don't know about rock
either way, the content is sucks, veil of maya have a great sense of humor to not let this video boring
man that's a fail
I don’t think the interviewer plays music
Veil of Maya Band? Bruh what the fuck dude?
what is this interviewer jesus christ
it's heartbreaking to dislike this video because of this cringey interviewer.
Cringey, and perhaps that's the point but good watch lol
I hate this.
You know you love it bitch
Bro what a giant waste of an opportunity to know whats behind the gear on the axe fx alone...
Oh my god, that's very cringy
I don't like him. He pisses me off, trying to be funny, but it comes across as rude and a waste of the bands time.
Love Veil of Maya though!
when you fail so hard at trying to be funny
This is by far the worst interview I’ve ever seen.
I don't think you know the difference between music genes and probably this is the worst interview I have ever seen and also probably in the career of this band they have ever given.
Agreed, there is a difference between humor and humiliation. Crossing the line for gathering views is not what you should do with an artist or a band.
This interviewer has no idea about modern music. Rock like seriously? The moment he said "it just looks, there's no reason why you would need such a thing" felt like punching him.
its all a joke lol its supposed to be ironic
The "interviewer" ....was sooooo lame
r/wooosh
Worst interview ive ever seen
The interviewer is not funny
hilarious :) Supremely uninformative
The bass player was wearing a pizza-cat shirt, balding, and "dosen't like classic rock"
