The Ocean Blue: Behind the Gear (Effects & Pedals Arena Corner)

- Billy Cardigan got to go Behind the Gear with The Ocean Blue ahead of their Underground Arts show in Philly before he slipped into his tragic Sleep Apnea induced coma. He talked with the Dave Schelzel, Oed Ronne and Bobby Mittan in an interview about the pedals and gear they use to make the jangle pop music that they made. Including pedals such as chorus pedals, reverb pedals along with may more, the Ocean Blue used those pedals to make the music that they made, and it was good.
Due to a technical mishap some of the pedals were not filmed, so Billy Cardigan drew them on paper to the best of his memory to provide a visual representation of their image. Those pedals were Strymon, JHS, Boss, TC ELEctronic along with other brand of pedals there. This was a great Rig Rundown on the music and effect they used.
God bless the patience of Bobby, Oed, and David...very kind men. Love is kind.

This is Billy’s best interview yet!! The Ocean Blue band nodded along and agreed with all his points and said he asked good questions. I learned so much, as always!! BUT I’m left wondering how Billy is able to make these interviews while he’s still in a coma? Is Billy Ok??

Ace band! I've been with them since the beginning. As a guitarist, I had high hopes for this clip. The interviewer, clearly a 5th grader with Asperger's, knew nothing about TOB or, seemingly, guitar pedals.
I must commend the band on their patience and kindness.

What a waste of a great opportunity to really get into their gear info. You have insulted their unique sound and talents. Don’t ever do this to another artist.... ever again please.

This is sad because I actually wish you had done a real gear review. I get it’s comedy. But sadly no one has talked about how they make theirs sounds.
Yeah, I get that it's comedy too and shows that often comedy isn't even funny. This was banal.
a miserable, failed attempt at comedy. every "joke" was as interesting as watching someone paint a room. and to boot, you managed to trivialize a band that produces some really excellent, enduring tones with their gear. congratulations.

Yes. 98% of commenters feel the same way you do. However, if you talked to the band, you'd find they have a different perspective. The video is not about the gear...its about what's behind it.

Great illustration of the pedals, Billy - altho when Dave played the blue plus red pedals in combination, you failed to ask him why he didn't just get a purple pedal. (It's all in the color, which you've rightly pointed out many times.) These guys are not from English? Coulda fooled me.

This is really funny to me because I don't give a fuck about some famous musicians "gear" (gear sounds like a secret homosexual term for penis and balls) ...I always find myself watching musician's instrument videos but these r funny so I dont feel like I'm wasting my life as much
