I was born and raised a Packers fan. After this game I will never forget the incredible class and sportsmanship shown by the Raider Nation out of respect for an opponent. Will NEVER forget it.
This is why I became a raiders fan tbh. As a kid. Watching this and seeing how they usually were but when it came down to it, class.
@@shaneleroy3529 Yup, y'all known as the worst of worst fans even I knew it back then...and the respect they showed that night was mind boggling. Mad respect to those in attendance that night. Getting slaughtered by a guy who lost his father the day before and cheering him is beyond respectable.
I will always respect Raiders Nation for this
Legit Raider Nation. No fans would have done it better
I still remember this night as a young cocky Raiders fan... thinking Brett was going to have an off night because of father passing. I watched the entire game in disbelief on how wrong I was.
I remember watching this game with a raiders fan buddy and he knew what was going to happen and wasn't even mad he had respect for what we were witnessing.
I watched that game too cheering my ass off for Brett alongside my Mom, Dad and brother. I'm not a huge sports fan now (same with my Dad and Brother), but that night we as a family cheered every throw Brett threw, the catches made, bomb ass runs and touchdowns as a family. I think Irv had more up his sleeve than his son having the best game of his life :) Packer Nation for ever
Even as a Raiders fan, that was remarkable to witness and kept us all in disbelief. It was hard not to root for the guy losing his loved one 💯
When Raiders fans are cheering you and you are on the opposing team you know you are loved by America
Yes
TRUTH
Wonder what would've happened if he played the Cowboys
I will always respect Raiders Nation for this
Apart from in Mississippi
Jesus one of the first times I've cried to an NFL video.
This one and the Sean Taylor episode of Football Life
I'm a die hard Steelers fan n even this made me cry!
You just know that every team mate was blocking for him harder, running their routes with extra juice and doing their absolute best for him
My father recently passed , about a week ago actually and this video always gets me ... before and after . Love you dad.❤️
I'm sorry for your loss
❤
Hands down one of the most emotional moments in football history.
#GREENBAYALLTHEWAY
I'm getting chills
Best line from Al Michaels: "You bring this script to a movie studio, and they throw it out." And you know what? He's totally right. If this was a movie, it would be corny and predictable as hell. It's the fact that it actually happened that makes us all appreciate what kind of a warrior Brett has always been.
This was undoubtedly the best game of Brett Favre's career
As A Raiders fan, this game was one of my favorite games ever, and this might have been the greatest moment in Favres life
Brett was not only a tremendous player in the NFL but also a real character. You watched the games and saw lots of talent mixed with Favre's ever-lasting charisma that inspired so many around him.
Arthur Drake he played like a kid in the back yard he had so much fun loved him
Favre is the greatest Packers QB of all time and one of the greatest QBs period. He always played with emotion and was real. Favre will forever be legendary.
i hope derek carr can be as great as favre. one of the best ever to watch
It’s kind of ironic, I never knew my dad before I was 25. I’m from Wisconsin yet watched this game with my dad at his house in Florida a week after I first met him. #GoPackGo
As a Packer fan this night is where I gained my 2nd favorite team. Oakland fans were amazing that night. Will always be one of the best games in the NFL period.
Not to take anything away from Favre, but those were some nice catches by his recievers too.
That was intentional. Donald Driver and Wesley Walls had this to say afterwards:
“I talked to the receivers before the game and told them ‘Anything he throws, we catch,” said Packers wideout Donald Driver. “I don’t care what it is - behind us, over our head, if we have to get on a ladder or jump on a guy’s shoulder, we’re going to catch the ball.”
“I just said, 'I love you,” Walls recalled. “He played an amazing game for us, and we all felt we had to do the same for him. Sometimes in special circumstances, you make special plays. I think it's fair to say we were inspired by Irv.”
@David Kollmansberger Yes, but that night...anything he threw they HAD to catch. Driver was an amazing WR and will always be, but it was all a tribute to the man who made Favre who he became, his Father. I was younger at the time, but now watching these...brings tears to my eyes and I'm a grown man. Seeing a team rally behind one of their players in their time of need, shows this was a TEAM. Not individuals displaying their talent but guys coming together and playing as a TEAM. This to me, will be the best Packers team we will ever see.
@Million Dollar Systems yea I was thinking the same thing
Dude just stop. Maybe one clip wasn’t a perfect thrown ball. The rest he put where only his guys could get it.
That first touchdown was actually filthy. Perfect ball. DB tried to reach but it was just out of his reach and only the receiver could catch it. Some of the others in this video... not as best of throws but still big time by him
I'm a Raiders Fan but as a Raider, this was Brett Favre's "The Dad Game" game!
If you like football you like brett favre 🗣
As a Raiders fan I will gladly take this lost.
I was at this game probably one of the best games of My Life in the opening when they called Brett's name the entire Stadium stood and cheered for him... the balls he threw that night were amazing...
RAIDER NATION ☠☠☠
RESPECT
I remember watching this game with my dad. Hard not to get emotional. Magic happened that night and I'm glad I got to experience it with my dad.
❤❤❤Amen..we screamed for Lynn Dickey as a boy too....Dad used to get up and hit the TV set. Miss his emotional volcano ....Specifically the GOOOO....BABY....TD.
One of the all-time great football games.
Born and Raised in chicago my dad moved to Kewaunee Wisconsin he was always a Packer fan. And i love my bears but Brett will always be my fav QB because of my dad. I remember watching this.. This was a few years after my dad passed and I remember watching and screaming for every TD he threw.. God a great moment for the NFL
Did your Dad get up and hit the TV set emotionally crying a warrior's rebel yell ? Too ?
I watched this game. Unforgettable. Love you Brett, Detroit fan.
Idk how Favre did this....my dad passed away unexpectedly last Wednesday and I couldn't have went out and played an NFL game like that. I didn't go to work for the rest of the week because I was such a wreck. Still am pretty much.
Everyone grieves in their own way
It helped that his pops would of wanted him to play. In Favres mind he was putting on this show for his dad. A normal blue color job wouldn't be the same, you deserved the time off.
Hands down the best game I ever watched RIP IRV. I am glad I was able to watch this game with my old man.
Video can never match the feeling in the air while this game was on, I will never forget it, absolutely my favorite game of all time. Rest In Peace Mr. Farve
Everytime I watch this recap...I cry. Farve Brett Farve thank you for your contribution to sports. So much memories. Love from, Dwayne
That was the most special game, for me, that I ever experienced. The way he played, the weight on his heart, and the class from the Raider's fans was second to nothing. I'm biased, of course, since Favre is my all-time favorite athlete, but for me, it was the greatest thing I've ever witnessed in sports.
Me and my dad are diehard bears fans, but I remember watching this game with my father, he told me “son I know we hate the packers but respect Brett Farve” my father is gone now but I will never forget this game #4
Beautiful. My son is a freshman QB and to see this, warms my heart. I'll continue being the BEST Father I can be until it's my time. Thank you for this. ❤
This is why Brett Favre for A football life is my favorite episode
🐐
one of my all time fav games
Most emotional game ever played. Best QB to ever play. Stats are stats but he made NFL Fun
We love you Brett!
I can't believe I can only imagine how it felt to win that game for your dad.. I already know he was looking down on you saying way to go son. The strength and determination you have. You never quit and you never gave up and that's the reason you're in the Hall of Fame.
Legends whill never fade. Favre #4 role model and inspiration.
I Respect Brett Farve alot, and the Packers history of players!!!! 😎
#Respect 👊
A magic moment that will live on in NFL history forever.
Had chills watching this.
As a MN resident I used to hate him.. !! So glad he came and played for us when he did. He is that good !! He will bring you to the dance. Whether you win the dance is not one mans responsibility.
Football is family
I was at this game. 1 of best performances I’ve ever seen in person.
That's beautiful
GOD is real, that was a spiritually awakening game for Brett. One of the greats. Truly a pleasure to have watched you played. So much heart n passion 11:42
His father was definitely with him that night. Unreal game by Brett
This was beautiful! Thank you Brett.
There will never be a greater player
This was one of those rare moments that truly transcends the game. You watched it, and you knew you were watching something special.
There’s a generation of kids that would run around the school field during recess with the ball in their hand and at the last second launch that ball downfield because we all wanted to be Brett for at least one play.
Awesome I know how it feels to lose a dad, but triumph thru bereavement of your dad is beyond me or anybody I know. It's a divine moment to me.
I guess I’m old now and since I watched this game as a young man with tears in my eyes, I still talk about Farve’s Dad Game till this day. The standing ovation 👏🏽 the talent displayed 👏🏽 Brett’s sideline walk 👏🏽 On MNF 👏🏽 It was like watching a movie! Damn Brett Farve, you honored your dad and he is proud of you, thank you for that! ♥️
Brett Farve, greatest QB of the 20th century.
Fabian Liudahl joe Montana
Farve has more yards, wins, and TDs. Superbowls are a team accomplishment.
Fabian Liudahl true but then again so are wins in general
Fabian Liudahl how many interceptions
+Eita Masaki A lot. And why does that matter? Guy's in the HOF and is considered one of the greatest QB to play the game.
Wasn’t even alive for this game. It brought me to full on tears.
I used to think Raiders fans were jerks, never cared for them. When i watched that game live, seeing the shots of the fans cheering for Favre and holding signs for him, my mind was changed. Im so glad the raiders have a soild team now, you guys deserve it.
I remember watching this game with my dad as a kid. I'm a huge Packers fan and I've seen Aaron Rodgers do some unbelievable things. But this game is my favorite
God Bless you Brett
LOVE THIS🙌🏾
coming from a lions fan one of the most memorable games i ever watched.he was perfect.if i remember correct the only drop came from a fullback late
Been a Favre fan sense 1997
The thoughts and hearts of every Packer fan were on the field with Brett that night.
I will always respect Raiders Nation for this
Loves it
My dad just passed today. I was playing video games and I was unbeatable. Your dad passes. You have this ruthless feeling of absolutely no mercy. I can totally understand to he threw for 4 td in a half. It had to leave your system. But it's like that for about 45 min minimum. I just wanted to play video games to have a safe place to vent that Energy. You mind is super sharp. It's like your mind says. I know tha Cheat codes and I'm gonna give them to you because people gotta pay for dad dying. And your like okay lets do it and your in a crazy zone
False
not a packers fan but this gets me I know what it's like to lose a dad
Favre is who I’d have above all else for a game wining drive
Who else was lucky enough to watch this live
Chills
I hate Green Bay but I hate to see Brett sad in 2004
2003"
Viper Blade88 my father works in Chicago so I'm obviously a pure Chicago sports fan but I have to agree this was a pretty sad moment.
I am a Packer fan as well as a Brett Favre fan. Prior to this game I did not like Raider fans at all. I will never forget how well Raider nation treated Brett on this night. Today I am still a Packer fan but also a Raider fan. Raider nation showed a lot of class that particular night.
People say Brett Farves popularity wasn't equal to the level of play he produced on the field because of all his Gunslinger mistakes. But this game made me understand why America has been so loyal to NFL's greatest #4.
that was some nice raiders defense
crAzyChew12 Not really.
crAzyChew12 typical of us during the early 2000s
Honestly the coverage is pretty good on most of the big plays, the throws/catches are just better
Proud to be a packer fan and live in wisconsin
Brett Farve>All Mannings
L
Nah not Peyton
Nope not really
Ahahahha Peyton and Eli are both better than Favre
There's no way Eli is better than Favre
If I recall correctly his teammates said that no matter what he throws we catch no matter what
As a Lion's fan, FTP. But this is GREAT. Packers should be proud.
What was the music played during the highlights
Whats the name of this soundtrack
I was at this game
Talk about God showing up.... WHOA.....!!!!!!!!!!!!
More like Brett showing up
You spelled Brett wrong
His dad's soul was over the field carrying the ball to the receivers hands lol
I was there
Biggest I’m Him moments in sports history
To be in the same class with Al Bundy for scoring 4 Touchdowns in one game.
im not cryin ur cryin
The only time when Raiders fans cried out of happiness to see their team lose.
Is it luck, is it his teammates making plays for him? Yea it's probably some of that but it's also Brett Favre... No words ring more true about Brett, he had a way of getting the best from his teammates, whether he did it intentionally or not is a different story but still he did it
Isaiah Thomas of the Boston Celtics brought me here. R.I.P. Chyna.
Brett doesn’t get the respect he should (football wise). Rodgers being even better cast a shadow on Brett. Yes he threw a lot of picks but his TDs were always exciting. He was a gun slinger. One of the greats
As a bears fan I rooted for Brett and the Packers Thay deserved it
Where my early squad at
Tavaris Taylor here
Tavaris Taylor present
Alot of those passes were into triple coverage or double lol.Brett got lucky
That pisses me off she would ask him for a comment after the game just to advance her career. He should of been able to say his own thoughts. SMH,.
brett and RG3 one of the best quarterbacks in history
1:52
As good as Aaron is he will never match farve’s connection with fans
That was the greatest performance under the worst circumstances. You know what really gets me is the demonic pieces of trash that would dislike this video. It proves that Satan is alive and well! Great job to the legend “Brett Fabre”
Brett Favre, now there's a proud American that would never disrespect the flag. This new NFL is a National disgrace.
Brian Urlacher brought me here
Give me your opinion. If you were going to the superbowl but your son was being born that sunday night. Which big event would you go to?
thanks
Geral Ferald The birth, it happens once and the Super Bowl happens every year
Super Bowl, I can see him after the game. The child would probably be ok with it since their dad would of just became a super bowl participant.
which was more iconic? this or Michael's flu game?
If i had to pick i'd say MJ because it was in the finals, but i think it's a little apples-to-oranges. Favre had gutsy sick/injured games too, but this was something different. Favre's personal life was always so public. The opioid rehab, DeAnna's cancer, plus he was just so emotional on the field all the time... football nation was already very much invested in his journey, and the way everyone rallied around him for this one game - even fans of the opposing team, was almost surreal. I just don't think we'll ever see anything quite like that again.
If It wasn't for Farve I'll prolly wouldn't be into fb like I am..#PackLife
He Italian right
