Lara was born in Belgium, move to Italy for few years in her child years, then move back to Belgium, move to Quebec in her youg adult to try to pull out her career and stayed here for years and realy start her career (became Canadien cityzen) and move around the world since her 30's, going to France, Italy, USA and Belgium with part in Quebec. Can anyone teach the Dutch part of Belgium about Lara please? Noone here ever heard of her. The Flemish all talk about Natalia, Camille, Pommelien,... but none of them can even reach her small toe. I tried to give her more recognition but every TV studio and radio station don't even answer. She was a star in the French part of Belgium but that's really small so she had to move to Canada after becoming 4th in the Eurovision 1988 where Celine Dion won the contest. After that Lara's career was boycotted. She had to overcome many setbacks and personal troubles. However her fans supported her and she became the grand dame she is today. Creo que de todas las versiones de Caruso, me quedo con la de Lara. Nunca creí que hubiera quien me conmovieron más que Pavarotti, pero ella lo hace. Esta canción de Lucio Dalla encontró en ella su máxima expresión. Toda ella brinda belleza. Es una de las grandes cantantes que más ha admirado Dimash. Ya cantaron juntos. Emotive, powerful. And a lovely gentle fun loving personality that actually deserves her success. Only recently have I heard a voice that I would put in the top position, so, with my apologies to Lara Fabian, who's is without a doubt one of the greatest, I invite you to react to the wonderful siren that is Diana Ankudinova. Lara and Diana have someone in common in Igor Krutoy, so it is not impossible that one day the, for me, remember subjective, two best voices on the planet might sing together, possibly even with Dimash too. I love both but do not rank them in the same order. Just a different personal taste. But I definitely agree that Diana is stunning, dramatic contralto voices are very rare and she is, as Lara, very emotional. I still prefer Lara as a singer/performer, not even speaking as a songwriter in several languages. But you can definitely feels it differently. Diana covered Lara’s “Tomorrow is a lie” in the final of the contest that revealed her.

After hearing Lara for the 1st time last year I've gain a greater appreciation for songs sung in a language other than English - thanks to subtitles.

The first time I heard “Caruso” was in the 90’s, and it was sung by a 13 year old Italian boy. Both me and my boyfriend loved it so much, and after he was finished we didn’t remember the name of the song. At that time there were no google, so it was really hard to find it. But then Lara did this cover, and I was so happy❤️

The story is about the last days of Enrico Caruso, he knows he is dying, and he is remembering all his career on stage and telling his much younger wife how much he loves her.

For Lara, this song is really important as this is a kind of anthem for Italy, and she is so much connected to this country. She spent the first few years of her life there with her sicilian mother and grandma. Her husband is also sicilian. She also as been living there for the past few months since the end of 2022.
Barbra Streisand is my top female singer x 50yrs. Lara's timbre Is similar Henry. Barbra gives me goosebumps .especially her Ava Maria. This gal is right up there. Now Barbra is in her 70s?80s. And can't get the range anymore. But her voice still amazing.

Can anyone teach the Dutch part of Belgium about Lara please? Noone here ever heard of her. The Flemish all talk about Natalia, Camille, Pommelien,... but none of them can even reach her small toe. I tried to give her more recognition but every TV studio and radio station don't even answer. She was a star in the French part of Belgium but that's really small so she had to move to Canada after becoming 4th in the Eurovision 1988 where Celine Dion won the contest. After that Lara's career was boycotted. She had to overcome many setbacks and personal troubles. However her fans supported her and she became the grand dame she is today. Lara isn't only one of the greatest female singers ever, she's also very humble and empathetic and besides being very intelligent she's also a polygloth. Lara has it all!

Creo que de todas las versiones de Caruso, me quedo con la de Lara. Nunca creí que hubiera quien me conmovieron más que Pavarotti, pero ella lo hace. Esta canción de Lucio Dalla encontró en ella su máxima expresión. Toda ella brinda belleza. Es una de las grandes cantantes que más ha admirado Dimash. Ya cantaron juntos. Ese era el sueño de él cuando era un niño. Ahora él cumplirá 30 años y ella tiene algo más de 50.

Amira is a very talented vocalist, and more importantly she is a wonderful and caring young lady who dose want she can to help others.
But her performance of "Caruso" here is 3rd on by list, Lara Fabian is 2nd, "Caruso" is a number she often performs,
but in my opinion the very best performance of "Caruso" I have EVER heard was sung by Jackie Evancho.
It's beautiful in Italian I am French and I love Serge Lama. This rendition is really suited to the song I think she's the new Edith Piaf.

Art is subjective, so take what I'm about to type with a grain of salt: For a very long time I considered Lara Fabian the absolute best female vocalist. She is what Celine Dion wishes to achieve. Emotive, powerful. And a lovely gentle fun loving personality that actually deserves her success. Only recently have I heard a voice that I would put in the top position, so, with my apologies to Lara Fabian, who's is without a doubt one of the greatest, I invite you to react to the wonderful siren that is Diana Ankudinova. Lara and Diana have someone in common in Igor Krutoy, so it is not impossible that one day the, for me, remember subjective, two best voices on the planet might sing together, possibly even with Dimash too. That would break reality.

I love both but do not rank them in the same order. Just a different personal taste. But I definitely agree that Diana is stunning, dramatic contralto voices are very rare and she is, as Lara, very emotional.
I still prefer Lara as a singer/performer, not even speaking as a songwriter in several languages.
But you can definitely feels it differently.
Diana covered Lara’s “Tomorrow is a lie” in the final of the contest that revealed her.
