@@fathergabrielstokes4706 you do realize Arnold Schwarzenegger is a very moderate and liberal leaning republican right? He’s hardly that conservatives and he’s not an evangelical Christian republican either.

I think the Great Arnold was a good governor of the great state of California. Never been there but one day i hope. You can tell Maria did not like it, she grew up in politics and was and is worn down by it...

I was there although it was one time and it was for only a week.
I can't really judge it, but here are a few observations from San Francisco.
      1. Very dirty - the streets, especially those in the Tenderloin area are filled with homeless people (with a predominant of black folks). Also the smell. Since certain drugs are legal in California, the streets are filled with the smell of pot. At first it will be interesting, but after a whole day of roaming around, it gets really annoying.
      2. The culture - what I always tell my friends about how it was San Francisco is that San Francisco's identity is that it has no identity. The multiculturality and multitraditionality has made San Francisco to have no certain identity. The first person that I met on the SF Airport was Russian. Many people are Latino and Asian. Predominantly Asian. I'd like to also point out the LGBT movement. While it's nice to support the LGBT community, how can we focus on something like this when people are literally dying on the streets? WHY is LGBT a priority and why isn't taking care of SF's citizen a priority? The obvious answer is media and the fear of getting cancelled, but hey, it is what it is. I'm not going to get into BLM because that's a pertinent movement (although, at times, it really felt a racist movement).
      3. The food - being someone who literally travels for food, I just can't wrap around my head about the fact that I couldn't eat something really good. That's a lie. I did and it was really good, but it was Tacos. Tacos is not American food. I would've like to try a good burger, but I just couldn't find one. The food is very greasy (a few years ago I would've said that it's an American thing, but it's not. I lived in Park City, Utah many years and the food there is much more acceptable.
The only good thing about SF were the people - the people are nice. This has probably got to do with the culture. California as a whole supports open-mindedness. So if you're going through there, just be prepared to be extra welcomed and always looked out for.
As someone who has traveled around the US for a few years, I was very disappointed with San Francisco. Santa Clara (Silicon Valley) was a whole other deal, but SF was just a downer. Anyway, what I'm looking for next year is a trip to Napa Valley. I'm looking to try out some nice wines from that area.

@@mukwoorusilverhair4283as someone who has lived in California their whole life, and has been across the US and Europe many times, it’s definitely a great and diverse place to live. You will see homeless people in every developed country in the world. Many of the homeless you see have mental illnesses and CHOOSE to be on the street, whether sane or not.
While it is difficult, it really is the land of opportunity. I didn’t grow up rich but now I’m doing well for myself with a business and hopefully will be attending medical school next year after I graduate my master’s program, something I’ve wanted to do my whole life.
I love traveling and especially Europe but I’m very, very happy here. Whether I’m by San Diego to LA or SF or in between there’s NEVER not enough things to do or see here. The diverse environment, people, culture, everything is what makes it what it is. The multinational culture you see, of Europeans, Asians, Latinos, IS American/Californian culture. That’s the simple fact when you visit a state that’s not even 200 years old. I’m proud to be from here and will be here for a long time.
