    THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST INSTALL VIDEO ON CZcams FOR THE TRD OFF ROAD OR ADVENTURES WITH THE RAISE RAILS. BETTER THAN the actual PRinsu Rack fabricators . THANK you SIR

    My word of advice is apply anti-seize on all bolts. It's not too late to do it now. They will seize and break off if you need to unscrew them for whatever reason years later. Btw, good job laying it on top without scratching it, I also did it all by myself.

      I think you’re right on the anti-sieze. I saw another video where a guy tried to remove the wind deflector from the crossbar and the nuts were all rusted and seized. Also thanks for the kind words. It was a challenge doing it myself as you know. In retrospect I probably should’ve asked for help. Thanks for watching.

    Will this newer Prinsu rack fit a 2017 (gen 4) rav?

      Hi. You should contact Prinsu directly for that answer. Thanks for watching!

    So can you put the headliner back on right after taking off those 5 stock nuts on each side?

    • @Jet_Finder
      @Jet_Finder  Před měsícem +1

      Yes, that’s right. No need for anything under the headliner after removing the rail nuts. Thanks for watching!

    It sucks we got drill holes into the car. I going see if we can get a rubber fit and support it on the exterior instead for drilling.

      Yes holes in a roof are never good. I will keep this thread updated as to if I see any leaks develop. I hope the RTV Silicone keeps it water tight. I have seen others use rubber plugs in the holes with silicone. Thanks for watching the video.

      You don't need to drill holes by not using included plus nuts. Use washers and lock nuts instead. No issue at all. Mine is with 40 inch light bar, which IMO looks lot better than this one. Lol.

    I’m not going this far just to install a roof rack. Engineers should design something that is to install

    Absolutely ridiculous that anyone would go to that length to install a roof rack and tear a perfectly new car apart. No sale here.

      I still have the Prinsu rack on my Tacoma for 10+ years with no issue but it was easy bolt on from outside, never needed to open up the inside liner. I like this rack so much that I had to install it on my 23 Rav4 as well and looks great with 40 inch amber light bar(I know, to each their own). BUT I agree with you, it's something that I don't ever want to do it again on a Rav4. It's ridiculously time consuming for simply roof rack install. Btw, this installer took few unnessary steps(no need to drill a hole or pull out weather strippings, etc.) so made it look extra daunting.

      @@matrix-fh9tn Hi. I’m thinking of a light bar as well. Did you have the cutout on your wind deflector for it or mount it on the top? Thanks

    • @matrix-fh9tn
      @matrix-fh9tn Před 2 měsíci

      @@Jet_FinderYes, I ordered one with a cutout. Again the 40" single row lightbar sure do look nice and very well functional. You can hide the wiring under the side windshield weather strip or buy "car wire hider" for clean install. I used wire hider since I have more than one light up there. Prinsu sells the cutout front deflector for $136 but I would try to cut it myself, I think someone did that and has video on youtube, not sure.
      Oh and you can mount it on the top but I think it's too high and won't look clean. But then, to each their own.
