    People forget that Ronaldinho was the last player to score and assist more than +10 in a season for AC Milan since the arrival of Rafael Leao. Even when he was considered past his best he was still the best player on the pitch for Milan in many a game. Like when he destroyed Juventus in 2010, he finished the 09/10 season with 12 goals and 18 assists, which is incredible, and not even Rafael Leao has come close to matching that.

    Müller is technically so much better than people realize. He looks lanky and wooden, yes. To those that do not see him often enough, it feels like the balls just drop into place for him by pure luck and chance. The way he just plucked that one out of the air, chest-high, with an outstretched leg, looking like a marionette crafted by a kid... if that was intentional, he'd have the powers only Ibrahimovic has! BUT! He's been doing this, since, forever. Yes, he knows exactly what he's doing! His first touch is hellishly amazeballs - no the ball he takes on doesn't land where you expected it, but it lands EXACTLY where the Raumdeuter wanted it, in his stride, taking out the flummoxed defender in the same way as the TV spectator. He does this. All the time. Perhaps that's his best trait of all - fooling the world into believing he was not technically gifted, when everything that happens around him is WHAT HE MAKES HAPPEN.

      Thanks for commenting this, now I don't have to. Müller has an exeptional technique by normal footballing standards in any top 5 league, he's just getting compared to the best ballers in history more often, most of them being quite flashy as well. He is also quite the normal guy with a good sense of humor and a master of handling the press in his interviews.
      Fun fact, he and his wife own a stud where you can buy horses and even horse semen lol. He also has a noteable presence on instagram showing him taking care of other animals too. He's not like other footballers investing in things they don't really care about just for monetary gain, he seems to really have a passion in that regard.

      @Hadar1991 Před 6 měsíci +1

      I think that only Messi could rival him when we are talking about the control of the ball, but the difference is that Silva position relied much more on the control so he showed off his skill in this department more often than Messi. As Manchester City fan I was against signing Silva, I was afraid he will be stomped, trampled and crushed by other players, but with just that unbelievable control he was able to stay on his feet. While both Kevin de Bruyne and David Silva are attacking midfielders, both are brilliant they are completely different. KdB is a visionary with superb passing skills, while Silva works best as pressing attractor, forcing opposing team to press him with two or three players, crating open space and giving the ball away when he made the opposing team wide opened.

    as a werder bremen fan, this video made me nostalgic. we really had an absurd streak when it came to offensive midfielders in the 00's and early 2010's. micoud was one of the best players in the bundesliga at his peak, and after he left, he was replaced by diego, who back then was seen as a huge risk, but turned out to be one of the best number 10s in the world at werder. unfortunately, his peak coincided with kaká's peak, so he never really got the chance to play for brazil's national team. diego then went on a way too cheap transfer to juventus and was replaced by mesut özil and marko marin, who unfortunately plummeted hard after leaving bremen but was heralded as the "german messi" at werder. marin then left for chelsea for another bargain fee, and in return we got a 21 year old belgian talent on loan from them, whose name was kevin de bruyne

Muller was never the best player on Bayern's winning seasons, neither was KDB. During City's treble run, people still argue if Haaland or KDB was the best player. And since City never managed to win the UCL with KDB, before Haaland came, I differ to say that Kaka is levels above KDB. Also i'm very subjective because i watched Kaka play during his prime, but he was absolutely amazing during 2004-2009, he would win games all by himself, something KDB or Muller rarely or never achieved.

    I would like to add a honorable mention that, for the same reason as Aboutrika, flies off everyones radar
    Alex de souza
    The only thing I need to mention is that the guy scored 421 goals and gave 363 assists, exclusively as a midfielder
    He top the assist chart of both the libertadores and a Champions league desspite playing for fernebaçe (leading them to the highest finishing of a turkish team that is not galatassaray)
    Won two copa americas being the capitain, MVP of oneof them, and benching the 1th and 2th place of the list at their peaks at the national team, amd he had the greatest peak I personally ever seen, in a single season he registered 39 goals and 39 assists, winning every title he could with a club that was fighti g relegation in the prior season
    The only reason nobody putshim in the conversation is because when he was brought to play in the big stage, the italian league, a series of complications and problems with the coach meant that he spent two of his best years almost without playing and recieved a ban from football which resulted in him not being called for the wprld champeons brazil in 2002
    And so he decided to play om turkey where he was winning the super lig player of the year award almost every year, is on the top 3 top scorers of this century and is the all time assist provider of the league, and in my opinion, is the last classic 10
