- How good is David Silva, really? I have him up there as one of the greatest midfielders of all time, with 98% the dribbling of Iniesta, and 96% passing of Xavi. I believe he was Spain's 3rd best midfielder of all time.
Let's look at the career and story of legendary midfielder, David Silva.

He is crazy good .
Yeah David silva was criminally underrated just born in the wrong generation
Obviously much more than us
To be frank he has a fair bit of XP dembele was just AFK😂❤
That morrocan map you put is disrispectfull cause morroco is the hole contry until moritany
He born on a wrong time where there was a prime xavi and iniesta dominating the world just like Di Maria…nevertheless a true football fan would know how much of a baller he was
To be honest, Di Maria might still not get the recognition even if he was born in the 40s for real, so it's just how things must happen.
Di Maria is getting more recognition Thoe u can’t really call him underrated as much anymore. After winning World Cup, copa America.
The only thing that sets Xavi Iniesta apart from most extremely underrated midfielders like Silva is their trophies
@@EagleEyes77 yes he is he’s not very underrated anymore he’s just underrated without the “very” he’s getting more recognition slowly after World Cup/copa America if we’re being honest.
@@Alfredo888 oh okay
Moral of the story, Spain had almost every good midfielder of the early 2010s, xavi iniesta Alonso Silva Mata fabregas, the fact I'm probably forgetting some is crazy
Santi cazorla, busquets
Silva benched half these players, was very underrated from a Spanish perspective, the Prem knew what he was about
Isco
He went to play I'm England which was made things worse for him, those who played in Spain were a step above him, the same could be said about Fabregas and Carzola
Thiago Alcantara coming through the generation afterwards
He was criminally underrated .
Very
& they built a statue of him at Etihad, yeah right!
David Silva was simply brilliant
Only if your rating system is "number of positive opinions". If your rating system is "number of trophies won" he is not underrated.
@@paullowoleoutside of Man City fans, he’s not as mainstream as he should be for how good he was. Like people mention Gerrard waaay more and he equalled Gerrards total assists in 200 less matches.
Spain and it's array of top class midfielders are a joy to watch. David Silva is a true warrior who became a symbol of Manchester City dominance in English football and not to forget won everything with Spain.
Yeah but I still feel if he played in this current City squad, he’d be rated and mentioned waaay more
This. City built a backbone and made a name for themselves with David Silva. he was truly a humble magician. One of the greatest spanish players to ever grace the prem.
yet he’s still unappreciated by most!
Silva and Toure were so fun to watch in the midfield. The two of them were just so good.
True. Shame kdb join city when toure was a shell of his past. If not they will be the most deadly mid trio in history..
Loved the David Villa, David Silva, Juan Mata & Pablo Hernandez Valencia days. Some superb fun attacking football.
Im a city fan but David Villa is one of my favourites all time since he in 2010 WC was soo good. Only player who’s autograph I have, would love to have some current and ex man city players autograph.
Oh man those were the days. Madrid and Barca were very wary of that Valencia team.
if they were all in their prime together they could have definitely taken a few pieces of silverware even in those days haha
I started support Valencia in Davids era. Till now
Santi cazorla
Put some respect on David Silva’s name 😤
Leave a like if you can it’s the best way to support ❤️🙏 love you all
MERLIN
As a City fan he was well respected and appreciated. El Mago Silva
should get more respect outside of City fans for how good he was tbh. Maybe if played today he’d have 2-3x more recognition. I even saw some comments saying Bruno is better 💀
@@RaymarFootballBruno isn’t even better than Ødegaard
@@RaymarFootball as a united fan. bruno is underrated but silva (both silvas) are out of his reach. the only silva he can beat is andre silva.
@@MERCwtm maybe this season. but overall nah, bruno racked 1 season with 1 g+a contribution per match. 2 times with 0.6 and 2 times with 0.4 per match. odegaard touched that stat only 1 season so far.
Raymar, the man that provides me the perfect videos just when I need them (while eating dinner lol).
Same

Same
hahaha, hope I could make those meals a little more enjoyable bro ❤
Long live Rayma
Raymar has never, not one day, disappoint me.
much love brother ❤really means a lot
he represented the Canary Islands in the national team we love him 🇮🇨❤
a big reason why he wasn’t playing for a massive club at an earlier age was because how remote he was imo 🤣 but respect
@@RaymarFootball it’s really not that remote the islands and spain are fairly well connected, but definitely if he was born in spain his career would’ve been something else
@@aithor07xd Nacio en España. En España se diría que no nacio en la peninsula. Las islas tienen patria, o son patria.
Underrated player imo
Did you watch the video? That’s the entire point of it lol
He never was underrated in my books
@@power279just the fact that so many casuals dont rate him makes him underrated. if he played for City today he’d have much more recognition
Barça midifielders got most of the fame from that glorious times but we often forget that this squad had also Xabi Alonso, Silva, Cazorla or Mata...what a time to support spanish team...
don't forget fabregas
Indeed, but I consider him as Barça player@@five5654
Or Busquets.
pedro too
it was a bad day to press as an opposition 🤣
As a man united fan he’s still the one city player that I would’ve loved at my club. I think he’s the most important player in transforming city into the club they are today.
he would have made any club better tbh, could fit anywhere and proves he can run a midfield
@@RaymarFootballcity don’t win their first prem title in 2012 without him. Who knows what happens after that. No Pep perhaps.
David Silva is the most underrated midfielder of our generation. Through late 200's to mid 2010's with Spains dominance of the football world, you always hear about Xavi, Iniesta, Xabi, Fabregas, Busquets, but David Silva was BY FAR my favourite Spanish midfielder.
Especially when he and Toure linked up for City games, they were so damn good
You know ball 🤝
Please man, do one of Santi CAZORLA PLEASE. He was such an underrated player in that spanish generation, but injuries kind of kill his carreer. He was so good, and both feet player. Amazing tecnical guy.
And if you can, i let you these underrated legend of spain, VALERON, He was called the spanish zidane, and he was a key player in super-depor, the spanish team that dominates spains alongside barcelona and madrid in the 90's and earlh 2.000... he literally outplayed every big team in champions league (bayern, man united, arsenal, juve, milan etc....)
I definitely should brother 🫡 0:01
He's the forgotten son of football, i knew it when he left Man city that it was the moment the world would forget him. I hate how players like him , Kun , Villa and Rakitic were just never acknowledged righteously
Yeah it’s sad. If he was a player in current City he’s actually get the recognition he deserves. Casuals werent paying attention to City back then like they are now
Theres a few more than some certain british "fans" :D Valencia fellas will either.
This Valencia team. Canizares, Marchena, Ayala, Baraja, Albelda... In the front Joaquin, Vicente, Silva, Villa. Criminally underrated.
Good times.
Of course haha, but it’s sad how much respect he lacks
When you see people online talking about underrated players they’re always saying “Di Maria, Muller, Dybala” but the real underrated players of that generation are David Silva, Moussa Dembele, Yaya Toure and Jan Vertonghen.
ball knowledge sir 🤝
Just LOL at vertogen... And moussa. You re not serious
David villa should be in there too
i have been his fan since first time i saw him playing for city, i always wondered why he never gets recognition as modric, xavi, ozil and others.
it feels good that you covered him
True. He & modric was on the same level in the pl. But after luka move to madrid his pr just rise up. Just show you how important is pr & club status is.
I hope phil and bobb fulfill his legacy at every level of the competition
just hope they can stay healthy!
Yes David Silva made the foundations for Manchester city.
Silva is the best Spanish player I have seen my whole life...
not a crazy take shows how good he was 🔥
I’m a big man utd fan but I loved david silva so much that I bought his jersey during my visit to etihad stadium
If Silva had went to Utd, they would have preserved a lot of dominance 😭
Thanks for another great video, Raymar! Love the fact that you're posting videos so regularly now - warms my heart!
Keep at it, big man!
much love my man ❤really means a lot, I’ll try my best to keep it up!
I like how raymar describes players
thank you for the support brother ❤
From my view i think if Silva joined real madrid after 2010 world cup... he would have been recognized clearly as Xavi & Iniesta...because those three players built a strong triangle in the spanish squad and were the masters of the tiki-taka football style
Sadly true…..a spanish player that didn’t play for 2 big teams in spain
This documentary should be about Santi Cazorla, I mean David has a statue outside City, only the streets really know how good Santi was
true, but he still doesnt have the recognition he deserves for how godly he was in the PL
Santi was never a regular in spain nt. Silva did & still doesn’t get the recognition as much as iniesta / xavi
@thecitizens4573 Xavi and Iniesta are like two peas in a pod. There was no separating them. There was no way the likes of Silva, Santi, or in later years Mata could've broken that duopoly. They were just that good individually, and together, they were awesome
The only Spanish players in that generation I would have wanted for Barca. David Silva was an incredible player. I noticed him at Euro 2008, I saw similarities with Messi in the way he moves the ball. What a special player. I envy Man City, but I'm happy for him, that he was appreciated as he deserves to be.
David Silva was the reason I fell in love with Football
Silva was poetry in motion, absolutely a true class player
Finally some appreciation for david silva, he’s so underrated
of course bother! thanks for watching 🙏
Wish him and Aguero were younger when pep joined these guys were generational talents
Yup, with more trophies they would have been so much more respected by casuals
I remember watching him as a kid and always wishing I'd one day play like him. He was just incredible
Yup, a true wizard 🧙
D.Silva is underrated so much. 90% dribbler as iniesta and 90% playmaker as xavi.
perfectly said brother
90% playmaker as Xavi 😂😂 wasn't even top 4 of that team Xavi Iniesta febregas Xabi all were better
Robinho transfer made me notice Man city but David Sliva kept me watching Man city he was elegant beyond words
Robinho was wild 🤣
Robinho join at the wrong era. He could’ve join when tevez adebayor. Can be fire
Man Spain has a stacked Midfielder back then that's why 🇪🇸 is dangerous back then.
Xavi
Iniesta
David Silva
Fabregas
Mata
Navas
Sergio Busquets
Xabi Alonso
it was too OP 😂
Cazorla too
He and David Villa were unstoppable in their primes
Yup, sad how short Villas prime was because of Injury though 😭
@@RaymarFootballhis prime was not short. He got at the right time to reach his peak
Villa also was an underrated striker.
I remember buying him in PES all the time! Masterclass player ⚽
Heartbeat of the team
He was a magical player to watch and most that have played with him say he's the best player that they have played with
couldnt have said it better brother
He would have got more recognition if he had PR of Barca or Madrid
true 🤣
Yes one of my favorite players of all time!!
So thankful that you made this video. I have been telling people this all my life.
he was a master of time and space, he could slow down time or speed it up as he desired. it was brilliant watching him play
true ball knowledge sir 🤝
You make it up beatifully
I would love to see you make a video on that incredible Valencia team with Villa and Silva
Great video Raymar
I hope you didn't forget about the Hagi video
Can we all just appreciate raymars editing
it’s not that great haha but I do try to make small improvements, much love for the support ❤️
Make a vid on Bergkamp
💪🏾
I have to 🫡 🧊
Silva played for Real Sociedad at 36 years old. We won the cup and dominated the league for half a season.
That Kyle Walker interview says alot about David Silva.
Thanks for mentioning that bro 😂 probably the only comment I seen about it
My poor Walker😢😢 He wanted to be respectful towards Kevin... I don't blame him. It s hard to choose between him n silva
But I d take Kevin 💯💯💯He can also defend, unlike silva and can score some goals from distance right? Silva was more " magic " but kdb is kdb for me.
@@Gehinomlezvuvimtrue. Kdb is more complete player. But silva is a player that can unlock any defence with his dribble & through ball
Had he played for Real he’d be much better ranked/rated. And Real actually wanted him before Modric, and before he went to city. Fantastic player.
And imagine he went to madrid. People will forget about modric…just like eriksen..
He was such a special player
there’s a reason they called him the magician 🪄
As a Man United fan I m a big David Silva fanboy and have been for almost over a decade now.
respect 🤝
Imagine prime Messi and Silva playing together 😮
I watch you for a long time. Happy how far your channel has come.
really appreciate the love and support brother ❤️ hope I can keep entertaining the OG subs like you!
Definitely. :)
Iniesta on the left wing and "El chino" silva on the right wing = good time for being a Spain fan in the late 2000s/early 2010s
They were legendary. 🔥
City's greatest and an absolute legend
facts 🤝
His technique and dribbling was on a different level 💯
yup 🔥 a magician fr 🪄
If he played in another team other than man city or psg he would have been praised to the levels of modric, iniesta, xavi and kroos. He is magical too watch and a cheat code on fm 12
yeah its a shame. if he was playing in Man City of today hed get more recognition for sure
Xabi Alonso, Xavi, Silva, Iniesta, BUsquets, FAbregas, Mata, Cazorla. Spatin produced 8 top midfielders during 2006-2012. NO country has ever produced so much talent in a single generation.
He is extremely underrated. He really is perfect for his nickname of "El mago" ( The magician).
he truly is 🪄
A true icon of the sport, absolutely magical player
the magician for a reason 🪄
I think if silva won the CL he would be considered the best attacking midfielder of all time.
shame he had such strong opposition back then. Would have been so easy had he played with City now in his prime.
@@RaymarFootballbernardo is the closest city have. But he is not consistent. If he unleash his inner messi every game he would be op
I never forgot David Silva
❤️❤️❤️
Hey raymar I love you contents and i have being watching them from 2020 . And I like the development of the channel. Would you mind if you make a comparizion video about Modric and Kroos and Xavi and Inesta. As a madradista I like kroos and Modric but when people say they are better than xavi and inesta it makes me sad, yeah sure their longevity is questionable but i do think they have the better prime interms of playstyle and the impact they have done in spanish football is huge. I hope you see this comment and you make a content about it.
Xavi
Kroos
Iniesta
Modric
In that order.
much love brother ❤️ truly means a lot, and that sounds interesting, I’ll definitely have to think of a way to do ut
The only order is
Iniesta
Xavi
Kross
Modric
@@IamDonRoyal Ain't no way Iniesta comes ahead of Xavi, ain't no way. Xavi literally had the best peak of any midfielder in the 21st century.. his 08-12 span was magnificent... Scoring, assisting, creating, controlling games, big game performances, finished in the ballondor podium rightly so 3 times... Pre 08 which alot of people try to shade Xavi on, he was the more consistent & played player out of both.
Silva and Mata were always overlooked.
They werent overlooked, they just played in a time when tho far superior players were around.
Your videos are inspiring bro. God bless you and your family
Thank you for the kind words brother ❤️ God bless you as well
el chinoooo one of my mcfc legends loved that man slept on for sure
they sleeping on his greatness for sure 😴
Watching him at city you'd see a lot of times that the player who provided the assist got the ball from Silva
you know ball sir 🫡
Bro we really grew up with the greatest football ever... Its not the same anymore an its barely been a couple years since it all ended tbh
These kids will never know
yeah bro I know what you mean, it’s sad
David Silva in that Valencia team was the first time I became aware of his genius. Vicente - Silva - Joaquin behind David Villa was deadly. The rest of the team was pretty decent and they should've won more trophies.
Dont forget a young Mata! If they were all in their primes they def could have taken some from barca and madrid
@@RaymarFootball Ah yes! How could I forget! Mata was Silva's replacement in the playmaker role when he was sold. Now that I think of it, Silva replaced Aimar, one of my favourite playmakers. Three great playmakers passing the torch over the years, Valencia were lucky to have them behind one of the most lethal strikers ever in Villa.
Again, should've won more with that forward line, but then again, I guess that's why they always say; defense wins you trophies. If only they could have added quality to play alongside Canizares and Ayala because they were pretty good defensively, if I remember correctly.
This is why it's called silva ware 😂
🤣🤣🤣
as a real madrid fan i reamember him i city he was my favorite city player of all time, i want him in madrid
would have loved to see him there too tbh, would have gotten more respect than he does now
Pep said David Silva was better than Iniesta in the pockets behind the forwards, he said he was the best player he has ever managed who played just behind the forwards.
He was amazing, but he was no better than either Xavi or Iniesta.
I love both, and do agree, but also, you could replace either one with Silva for Barcelona and have the same success. Xavi and Iniesta play best together, I don't think they could have done what Silva did in PL without another player similar to the other with them
I agree but silva could replace one of them and still get the job done
You making the assumptions bro.
Strongly agree, David silva was underrated...and sincerely he was extremely good
Davy silva is a god damn certified G, C'MON CITY
A CERTIFIED G FOR SURE 🫡
I still say silva > KDB I don’t care, that trio of Silva Aguero and Toure nearly made me turn to the blue side of Manchester when I was around 9-11 honestly those years of Man Utd when SAF left when I was 8 was the most tempting for me to choose the the blue side honestly and no one would’ve blamed at that time cause I was a kid but I decided to stay loyal at united so for me it’s Toure than Silva than KDB I don’t care what no one says 🙌🏽🙌🏽
you can say anything but the reality is kdb is best player in history man city and also the beat midfielder in history premier league. + top 2 assist in history premier league and only midfielder in history winning 2player of the season and 66+ awards (kdb clear silva all day but silva was more baller )
@@jayminwoo David Beckham
@@weihuatang171 he's not close to de bruyne only scholes and giggs from stats
@@jayminwoo I think KDB is better than all of them, besides giggs is a world class winger than a MC

Iniesta, David Silva,Xavi in that order is my favourite players I ever witnessed
MAN UTD WOULD BE NOWHERE WITHOUT PAUL SCHOLES, THAT'S A FACT!
One of their most important players for sure
Awesome video man. I would have really liked to see that Agüero-Silva-Agüero sequence against Aston Villa. It was so clean.
didnt wanna risk too much high profile moments for copyright reasons 😭
The name 'the magician' comes inherited from Juan Carlos Valerón, another player from the islands (Silva is also from there) who was called "El mago" and is terribly underrated outside of Spain, but was Silva's role model. If you think Silva is underrated don't get me started with Valerón.
He was beast at Football Manager 2008
I really want to edit your videos at high quality mate.
He avoids the media like the plague and lets his art speak for itself. The goat midfielder of all time El Mago
very good point
One of the all time best attacking midfielders. And he proved you dont need to be big to play in the PL, also ending any debate what Messi would have done in the PL at the time
IF YOU PLAYED FIFA 07-08-09 YOU SILVA WAS A BALLER
even till much after that hahaha
david silva the merlin wonderful at mcfc love him
NEED A VIDEO ON PAUL SCHOLES, PUT RESPECT ON SCHOLES NAME. HE WAS BETTER THAN ALL 3 COMBINED.
DEFINITELY BROTHER 🫡
The most underrated player of that generation was not even Silva, but SANTI CARZOLA
he deserves a video too
It's unfair how much midfield talent spain is just blessed with. It's a privilege to witness these guys.
they were too OP 😂
his Valencia team was one of the sickest ever... Pablo, Mata, Joaquin, Silva, Villa, Vicente, Banega, Albelda, Morientes... then later Alba...
Silva was my favourite player at city before KDB
I wish that i got into football earlier, to have watched that Spanish side dominate.
David Silva was the best CAM in the prem for the 2010s without a doubt ...
And when he first got to City.. that spine with him and Yaya was incredible
And after the monster 3 of Xavi, Inestia, and Xabi Alonso
There was Silva, Fabregas, and Mata
All players that have domianted in Spain and in England and if the first 3 didnt exist.. those 3 would be considered the best midfield in the world still lol...
Then there was Santi Cazorla, Javi Martinez, and Jesus Navas lol...
The Spainish player pool of the 2000s and 2010s was stacked beyond belief ...
The late 00s Valencia team had Villa, Mata, Silva, and Alba hahahaha crazy talent
The player that made me love football
the magician 🪄
That Spanish team was so great, many of their players went unnoticed. Xabi Alonso is hardly brought up in the conversation with respect to that team!
youre right brother, but I think Xabi Alonso gets talked about much more than Silva
I always thought he was one of the best. Never realised he was underrated or unrecognised.
the poll I did shows most people don’t recognize how good he was 😶
Many things cannot be measured by statistics. If you have eyes and if you have actually watched these players play, over 50 games, like me.... U know Iniesta is the best and it's not even close
I didnt say he was better than Iniesta 😂 just that he’s in the same tier of great midfielder. Plus he had a longer prime and ran that City midfield which was much weaker than prime Barca
