What always endured me to George Strait was he never needed all the glitz and cheap theater on stage. All he need is his guitar, Stetson hat, and a microphone. He deliver a great story telling written song. 😍
His movie "Pure Country" is just that - pure country and purely fantastic. The soundtrack is amazing. I saw him in concert years ago and I was most impressed with the way he did the show - the stage was in the middle of the room with seats on all sides...he had a microphone set up on each of the 4 sides of the stage and would rotate with each song so that nobody had to look at his back for the whole show. And he simply stood there with his guitar and sang - no big flashy extravaganza, just quality music.
One of the best "2 Step" songs around! :) I thought he had such a smooth delivery of a Western style of country music. Very talented gentleman of country!

A few titles are, This Old Hat, Hooked On An 8 Second Ride and Cadillac Ranch. He was, rest his soul, very much a Cowboy. A true bronc busting Cowboy. But what a showman. A rocker at heaty. A lot of what Garth Brooks has done on stage, running, swinging from ropes, the big lights and pyrotechnics he got from Chris. Check him out.
