It’s clear that he doesn’t understand that DID is formed from trauma and not just something someone decides.
Emilie Hepburn I genuinely want to understand DID, I’ve always known it was a real thing, I hate the misrepresentation in society of DID,
Why am I here I’m subscribed!! I meant like working with people who have DID!
Cosplay Clown you could try talking to some systems in support groups, make sure they know your a singlet not a system if you do tho. We’re open too talking too
Tal mentions that he didnt know what DID was/is real for people and literally couldnt even name the movie, showing he really didnt know much, this was him looking into a documentary so this was his "research" in case anyone claims that he should have done research before. Tbh the documentary structured the video pretty poorly so any question/statement he said was from what they had said. Like around 10 minutes in she says that she didnt understand what Tal was saying but he was referring to the quote "if I was a boy, this trauma wouldnt have happened to me" which Tal didnt understand at the time because the documentary STILL hadn't explained how DID forms and when it does explain it finally Tal criticizes it, not the reason it forms, it being the poor explanation they give in the documentary.
I only got like 2 minutes in before I started ranting to my mom
But the fact that the title still said “thinks” left me salty
Audrey E same!!! Jess handled this so well!! I’m still salty
Lizette Rosa stg she did. I would have told him off.
Yes but Tal had pretty much nothing to go by except like Split and the video he was in the middle of watching.
Same
Probably kept that in the title to get people to click
I really want Tal to see to this video, so he can get a little more of what this channel really is.
Aahhhhh! You ❤️ed it! Hi!
I’ve been watching your channel for a while now, and I support y’all 100%. Thank you for everything to you to erase the stigma around DID.
AH
Ok
Thanks!
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
My system actually has a wolf alter. He doesn’t have a name, but he was created because when bad stuff was happening to us when we were little, we felt that if we were a wolf we would’ve been able to fight back. He can’t actually speak, but he has human intelligence and sort of communicates through feelings and ideas.
Update, we recently discovered that we also have a velociraptor fragment which is... interesting lol He was probably created for the same reason as Wolf, because velociraptors are tough and intimidating.
He’s not even a scientifically accurate velociraptor lol
I love this. Thank you for sharing and updating it. Your explanation makes a lot of sense :)
i support both of those alters
Thanks for sharing! That is fascinating! I support you!
hey same here! except my wolf alter can speak
Gosh you handled this sooo well. I’d get so mad watching it if it was me :/
Same! Me and the alters would probably just yell at the screen the entire time...
Same! He was such a smartass all the time so annoying! Like look it up before making a video about it smh
She commented on his video that she was not offended at all and thought he was very respectful of her.
Kanakalala🌺 exactly as I said. She handled it well. Definitely better than I would 🧡
He wasn’t rude he didn’t completely understand at first bc he hadn’t seen it but after he understood
"Let's not show my boys to the yard" 😂😂 Love ya Jess
This was real fun to watch because you're such a good sport, Jess 😂 I thought Tal was annoying and clearly didn't understand what he was saying or talking about, but you really gave him the benefit of the doubt and just calmly and happily explained how things work and don't work. I hope I can be as chill as you in a conversation with someone who's completely lost!
He didn't say anything bad about her though, he was amazed. But yeah the video title is misleading.
While I agree he didn't say anything bad , the way he phrased certain things made me cringe and irritated me. She handled it beautifully though.
No this was a classic passive attack. This is EXACTLY the same behaviors displayed with ignorance in racism....shocking how it is identical to the harm done by passive racism. Your splaining of his behaviors IS another part of the challenges faced by folks listed as other. Time for non victims to stop splaining and gatekeeping other people’s reality.
@@mybuddyrobin exactly! We can't just pretend these people don't exist. If we want to destigmatize DID we have to see exactly what we're working with, because everyone's brains can be changed. Everyone's brain is just different, and there are millions of Tals out there who are going to have to go through tonsssss of awakenings before they get close to grasping dissociative disorders. Awakenings about themselves, privilege, mental health, conditioning, all of it.
This is a great first step because I think of all the Tals watching both videos. & The comments are filled with people saying "those responses were ignorant and hurtful." He may not understand how but just the fact that he's reading number of comments saying it.....I'd love to see how he changes a year from now if he moves forward.
Melissa yes indeed. This is a time of great awakening.... for ALL ignorance inbuilt to our system. Its scary but amazing to see all the disenfranchised beginning to Stand up and say their truths.... making the powerholders have to self reflect or be taken down in flames by people finally expressing their Truths.
I want to be mad, but he just doesn't know. I hope he sees this and has a reaction to the reaction reaction (?) he's grown a large audience and it would be great for them to see as well. By the end, he really seemed like he'd be open to learn more about DID.
ZaLynnC he’s genuinely ignorant en really really doesn’t know anything about DID. Hopefully he’s more educated now?
I think he should've made a little more afford to at least do a research about the subject instead of talking so irrationally and overall being so judgmental and rude. from what I read in the comments I think he learned a thing or two after Jess reaction video.
Jess has the patience of a saint for making it through this video. I honestly had to take a moment. Like how she managed to be kind, informative and funny is honestly amazing.☺️
(Edit: Props to Tal for coming around in the end. It’s always nice to see people to come around and understand. )
MckenzzieRose could you tell me how he came around? I don’t have access to social media.
I hope he watches this so he could learn something.
And reads our comments, lol
We should go to the video and post a link to this for him
I really love how you don't attack Tal for simply not being educated on DID, you just educated and had fun. I love how there isn't any hate in this video💕💕
I'm shocked at how ignorant and rude he is , you handled this so well. well done jess and the boys xx
He's not rude, did you watch the whole video?
@@uyagraph I watched the whole video and he was in fact pretty rude for most of it.
@@uyagraph do you have DID? I was shaking and dissociating the first half of the video with how disrespectful, offensive, and dismissive he was. I acknowledge the root of his responses, and I can see his demeanor changed toward the end. I have a feeling most systems who watch his video will react similarly.
@@melissabeingmelissa I don't have DID but i like to learn more about it. His first statements were kind of rude, i thought maybe he was joking? i didn't find any problem with what he's saying. I watched his video first and then this video, maybe i took it too lightly. I'm sorry if you feel that way.
Lonesome Kiddo ok you found no problem? That means you exist in privilege. Health, wealth and opportunities (does not mean you are rich btw ;-) ) perhaps think of a #metoo moment where your Truth is not believed and you (or another victim) are rideculed and disbelieved till at the end of a highly aggressive and frankly vile video where he half arsed backed out of the bigotted misogynistic corner he painted himself.... was he drunk? This is a classic scenario “I’m not racist but...” ppl do all the time. Its time to stop #normiesplaining bigotted garbage!
“Thinks she has personalities” ahh damn I hate that. Everyone is different people ahh!
I think you're terrific, Jess. I found this guy's manner rather insensitive, certainly at first, but you responded with kindness, generosity and even respect. Amazing. I've been binge-watching your channel. I really value what you're doing. :)
Yes I do love how he came around. The beginning of Tal's video was really iffy and kind of pissed me off in places, but by the end I loved watching the evolution of someone understanding DID.
I’m so glad you weren’t too hard on him considering the fact he knew nothing about DID before hand. ❤️
We are flipping out right now! We knew that Jess studied psychology - but we never knew that she also started her training as a psychotherapist! We are an OSDD-1b/DID-system and managed to make our way to 2/3 of our psychotherapy training by now. It is so good to know that there are more systems out there, who are practicing therapists! We ourselfs know two more systems who are undergoing training to become a licenced psychotherapist.
We did a degree in Psychology, Health & Social care and we are currently working on Performing Arts so that we can do dramatherapy.
Our psychotherapist is another system :) we can do anything!
0:58 “I look like a thumb with hair” ohmygod jess 😂💀
I cracked up because that’s so typical of how I’d feel.
Not to mention hating hearing your own voice ewwwwwwwww! I’d run screaming from the room!
Goes to show the original documentary really did it's job to educate! To start from only knowing about Split to actually having a bit of understanding and respect for people who suffer from DID is a pretty big shift in perspective.
Although it always surprises me how little some people know about DID. I guess I have the advantage of resources like this and an interest in psychology, but I still can't believe some people have *never* heard about it.
finpin, I didn’t until I now have a friend who struggles .... so as a human rights advocate I knew to reaearch.... and started to learn.... so I can become an ever better friend.
Love is taking the time to support people where they are, putting their wholeness needs at the epicenter.
If it helps , split was the reason I found you guys and how I became educated on DID . So I think while split definitely provides misconceptions, I do think it challenged people to really find out what DID is , how serious the stigma's are and how we as a human community should be supporting those with disorders. More so, response videos such as this one are very helpful in educating people. While I can't even imagine how frustrating it is for you to have to do this , I ultimately think it will result in more positivity than negativity . Thank you very much for opening up all of your lives to us. Of all the channels I watch, I look forward to your videos the most. ❤
Ashley Hodgins i found Jess the same way, I knew DID wasn’t like the movies but know I understand it so much better.
@@Cattail1997 honestly when I came looking for answers on DID , I did not expect to find anyone as inspiring as jess,Jamie, ollie, ed, jake and Gaz. I also suspected DID was nothing like it was portrayed in the movie , but I guess I am guilty of having preconceived notions that I would find terrible heartache and broken people . What I found was the opposite. I found intelligence, strength , compassion and ambition in jess and the boys. It was truly a blessing .
@@ashleyhodgins2229 Same with me
Ditto! Fortunately I think most people realise that DID is not realistically depicted in movies
Ashley Hodgins same here and I’m beyond glad I did and so much more came from that movie now I’m involved and educated and continue to educate and advocate as well and support and have in a sense got to know Jess and the boys Chloe and her system wyn and her system and Jeremy and an alternative perspective etc are incredible and I so adore every upload from all of them like I’m being updated on out of town friends ❤️🖤❤️🖤 simply love this community
Why are you literally the sweetest person ever. Like the ignorance of the reaction guy was annoying me, and then you would just be so incredibly sweet. I aspire to be that kind one day lol
Bless you for being so calm, Jess. I was honestly getting really upset through watching the things Tal was saying. You're so understanding it's honestly amazing. 😅
I originally came here from Tal. I already knew about D.I.D before I watched the video, so when I saw the title, I was kinda uneasy about it. I was also extremely happy when I found out that you had a CZcams channel.
Red Velvet Oliver same
I actually saw the full documentary before Tal reacted to it. I´m kind of disappointed to see everyone in the comments bashing on Tal. He did learn from it, but people only choose to see his ignorance and not knowing what DID is from the beginning of his video.
System of 17 here and at first I thought this was going to be a bunch of bad stereotypes. It seems like he has only been educated through movies like split and is asking some genuine questions. Being confused about it might be a good thing because it says he's thinking about it and trying to figure it out and make sense of it. Honestly when I figured out that it was alters in my head and that my inner dialogue might be different from others I asked if I could have schizophrenia or something else that doesn't seem like science fiction to others even though I am going for my masters degree in mental health, trauma, PTSD/human services, 4th year out of 6, I was in denial everyday because of what other people might think. But he didn't seem too offensive, some people are afraid to ask the harder questions
I feel like this guy should have done more or better research before making his video. He comes across as quite dull and at times offensive? I don’t know. He just annoyed me a bit 😂😂 x
Same I got quite offended xD when I First watched it
Yessssss
I know. But the thing is, there are thousandssss of Tals. He doesn't use the vocabulary our community does in everyday language! His brain conditioning type exists, and IS the norm, so two positives we can take are 1) DID awareness is getting out there 2) even the ignorant and uneducated are changing in some ways. Even if it's smallllllll.
He was very different toward the end of the video, and that's what I'm focusing on. Because I know everything in the first half is going to still be there, captured on camera or not, you know? Hollywood left a real big mess we have to clean up, seems neverending, but we have to see what we're working with. Hope that makes sense.
We're dealing with every level of intelligence ever, every socioeconomic background ever, every demographic ever, and we all want the same goal of destigmatizing DID. It's going to be hard, but I'm so proud of Jess for taking it for what it is. We know very well despite those who change slowly or never do, behind them are those being serious about researching something new to them. We have more allies on our side than before.
Eleanor Chadwick That idiot should have done any instead of even getting surprised that this is a real disorder and while having no knowledge nor respect for the people he was talking about he just made himself look stupid and willfully uneducated really. -Jack
@@pumpkinhills7611 Tal usually jokes around in his vids, he isn´t being disrespectful on purpose. And honestly.. most of the times he can be so damn oblivious (nothing against Tal, it´s just that I (and many others) notice the obvious way before he does, sometimes he doesn´t see/get it at all and it´s frustrating to watch). But still, I gotta love Tal, although he can be oblivious at times, he´s still means well at heart.
His ´Meet the person´ series are really heartwarming. He jokes around a bit, but at the end he always gives his honest opinion (either he gets it/feels sorry for them/somewhat gets it/or doesn´t get it etc.).
now Reaction Time should react to this video
Even if he did no research on DID whatsoever, it is very sad that he didn't even understand what was said in the interview. It was a very informative interview and not complicated at all. The questions he has kinda show that he's not very intelligent in the first place.
Not very intelligent? There's a difference between not understanding something that you have never even thought existed, and being dumb. I think that by the end of the video he understood a bit more and was more educated about it
@@user-od7hk4zu3i I have to agree with Amygdala System here: If he had actually *listened* to what the interviewer and Jess&Co said, he would have had the answers to a lot of his questions.
I'm so grateful that you are able to make such a mature and understanding video to his ridiculous and ill-informed video.
I love your channel and how committed you are to help visibility! x
He needs to react to her reaction mega reactseption lol
You can definitely see the progression of him becoming more educated throughout the video
I don’t think he meant to be so ignorant.
😄😂🤣
Raven Wood But he still was :/
I think you’re right, and I don’t think he did any research or he miss understood what research that he did. At leased he’s asking questions, and hopefully people came to this channel to get well informed.
But if I were going to do a video on this subject...I would research so I could ask better questions...and a better understand her answers. Ugh
@@mizage2255 yeah but its not rly hi fault :v
I have poly fragmented DID (100+ people), my husband also has DID and we have a little girl. It's hard to navigate sometimes, but we're doing the best we can. It's so awesome that you share about your lives like this.
Kit Jackson
How do you navigate so many alters and a child? I have DID and I've always wanted kids, do you have any advice?
The six year old you wasn’t naive thinking that way. We all wish we had a protector in our lifes so bad things wouldn’t happen, so sometimes our minds split and we get a protector ☺️
"I don't want to show my boys to the yard." Iconic.
Honestly, it is a fact that people like this exist. people who don't do any research but blindly ask questions to people who are informed to become informed themselves. I think it mostly comes from a lack of knowledge of where to begin. It is a disorder that is more widely covered now, but many people are still in the dark about its existence and how it works, and have no idea where to even begin to research this topic. Not everyone has the time or patience to pour hours into reading and studying. Many other people would have just gotten offended and refused to answer his questions, but you politely answered them all, despite his(I believe accidentally) uninformed and sometimes offensive questions. This is how you beat a stigma, you take the time to answer all the questions, even the ones you dislike or disapprove of. You include everyone in the discussion, because now this video has been made, he may become much more informed, and change the way he sees people with DID. Keep up the great work!
Imagine if Ed was the one reacting... 😂😂 I love Jess for react this professionally! Also, yes, im aware that I am late to watch this vid
Wow i never knew about blind person with did whose alter can see that is fascinating to me. I will need to check this out.
Does anyone know who it is?
yeah, here's a video of margo czcams.com/video/11oD_8jYy0c/video.html
@@suspendedsecond i appreciate that, tried watching but the audio is just so bad for me. I can't hear the people only some weird noises
@@KellyanneKashaS the subconscious mind is powerful. This is something that I picked up in that "Split" film when the psychologist talked about how each alter has certain characteristics and even illnesses.
For example; the host might have been stung by a bee and is allergic to bees so the body begins to flare up with an allergic reaction. When the first alter comes through, the body begins healing itself, as this alter does not believe they were stung by a bee, only the host.
The body and mind are truly connected and the body responds to the perspective of the mind.
So the "left handed" thing really interested me. I think D.I.D. is such a fascinating thing.
@@Penelope416 i do agree that mind is a powerful thing (wish it worked with me & got rid of my pain etc lol)
But it's still so fascinating & mind blowing at times.
Yes DID fascinates me too
@@KellyanneKashaS have you studied the Placebo effect?
This channel is what strenghtened my bond with my best friend ♡ If I didn't know about DID,I probably would have just freaked out and thought he was shizophrenic... But here I am now, being super close with him and his alters and never stopping supporting them ♡♡♡♡
Schizophrenia is really nothing to freak out about either. Like DID, it requires a willingness to learn. The unknown is what frightens us 🙂💙
Oh my gosh he is so wrong to do this without even asking you, if someone just picked one of my Autism videos and started judging me on their own channel I would be so pissed off. Reaction videos overall aren’t a bad thing but I think mental health and neurology are off limits unless the person being talked about is fully informed and has input.
It’s not wrong geez it’s a reaction channel they REACT to things and he’s not gonna ask everytime😒
Jess, can you and the boys tell us more about the alter who was out for 6 years and is no longer around? Who was he or she? What was their name? What were they like? Did they integrate? What was their role in the inner world?
A big hello Jess, Gaz and all your boys. I watched split and was intrigued by DID. I then researched DID and came across your channel. You have educated me and now I am more aware because of your openness. For that I want to thank you. You are all amazing. I love your channel. Sending lots of love and support from a new (ish) subscriber in the uk. Xx
Considering that we have a velociraptor alter (technically they’re a fragment but whatever) I can definitely see someone having a giraffe. I also know a system with a kangaroo so animal alters can be super diverse
New hair Jess? 💚💚
I'm super impressed that you weren't more (visibly) irritated by his attitude and choice of words, especially at the start of the video. I don't have DID and am just learning a lot about it from your channel, but I was really taken aback by the "she thinks she has [x]..." or "she says [y] is the case..." type of characterization. I'm not sure I could have handled it as gracefully as you did, finding myself quite upset on your behalf. I think this video was an incredibly significant part of your body of work and goes to show how strong and effective and brave your system is. Kudos to you!!
It's great to see you guys putting out content again. I stumbled across this channel just under a year ago - no clue how, probably one of those thing where I watched a bunch of random videos and and something from here popped up.
Really intresting stuff.
Fun fact, his video is what brought me to your channel :) and I'm really glad that I did. You are, all of you, so inspirational! And i just love learning along with everyone else :)
You faced someone's blatant ignorance with patience and grace and I am astonished by your poise while reacting to his video. I also really enjoyed the bit where you fangirled over Gaz and got to gush about how great you are for each other ❤️
Aww Ed cooking for everyone cause he was nervous ♥️ we love our gothic queen ♥️♥️♥️
Edit: Jess, have you ever had an alter who was fluent in a language you didn't speak?
Talk about finding positive ways to deal with anxiety! Ed has clearly come a long way.
I admire him - and also the other four alters for facilitating his journey.
he clearly does these vids with zero research....like he didnt even watch any of the vids on this channel...
Bijou Loveless that video isn’t a part of her channel. He would’ve had no way of knowing she was a youtuber
Ok. I haven't seen the Tal video until now, but the part in the very beginning when he says, "I don't know why she would want them," really bothered me. Jess, you are such a good sport and such a strong person.
I do NOT have DID; however, I have studied it for a very long time and have always been intrigued and understanding of it. I understand that the Alters are a result of horrible childhood trauma, and although I cannot empathize with what it's like to have DID, I DO know what it's like to experience childhood trauma on many levels. Fortunately, my younger brother was a very strong male model and mature for his age, and I believe if it weren't for him, I would be in a much worse place, emotionally, than I am today.
I think you, Jess, are incredible, beautiful, and strong, and the fact you are able to react to this video with such poise and grace is very inspiring to me. If someone were making a video response to me "wanting type one diabetes" I would go apeshit.
Thank you for sharing your journey with us.
It was an ignorant comment. Alters are needed for survival, which definitely isn’t the same as “wanted”.
The vid is a journey from ignorance toward understanding.
Ignorance IS annoying. Also a pretty natural phenomenon. A lot of people aren’t even willing to take one small step away from it. He was, which negated a lot of my annoyance.
I actually came here from tal's video. so I'm glad that he made that video and enlighten me on DID and i got to see all the struggles and how you live with them
omg! i needed to hear this! I had a friend say something like he said today. You handle it so well and was so patient and kind you are amazing!
I get so excited whenever you post something new. I find you all amazing and inspiring . Love you all.
I am so peeved this guy would do a whole thing like this without doing any background research or ANYTHING. Not even a second of googling some info. Honestly people in the public eye like this have a major responsibility to DO THE WORK not just make shit and throw it out. Jess you are great and thanks for having the strength to do a reaction. I couldn't have kept my cool that well XP
To me ed Comes across super confident like he doesn’t care what you think about him .
Jess, honestly, I think you have a wonderful voice, I love your accent. And I hope you, Gaz, Eevee, and the boys all have/had a wonderful Valentine's Day :)
I actually found this channel through Tall’s video. I was so fascinated by it so I did more research and l love learning more about it. It’s just so amazing to me and I think you guys are a huge roll model for other people, not just people with D.I.D., you show others that no matter what comes your way you can always find a silver lining and learn to appreciate it. Good job on your channel I’m proud of how far you’ve come👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Eloquent and entertainingly informative yet again. Thank you for responding in a classy and compassionate response Jess.
Jess! Your profession side shines through so well! I'm so glad I found this channel!
It’s been a minute since I’ve seen you Jess!!! It’s so great to hear from you and see you!! Such an exploding awesome person you are in the best way.
ive seen this dude before and i know hes very rude at tims from what ive seen - i thought you handled his comments very well
glitteryoonseok you’ve seen him before in real life? Where? * im just ask 🙏🏻
The way you handled this is amazing. I was over here getting heated and you’re just as calm and cool as a cucumber. You’re awesome
wow your kindness and patience is incredible! thanks for all the good work you do to educate us
I found this channel about a year ago maybe a little less and I absolutely love it I had never heard of this disorder before finding you Jess and I love all of your alters.
Girl! I totally admire your bravery- all of you! :) I WISH we could be so brave to do like you, interviews, videos, and all. :)
Thank you soooooo much for fighting for DID ppl like you do!
I love how calm you are about this! It's the best way to educate, just to calmly debunk everything and basically tell us that that guy has got it completely wrong haha Still lovinggggggggggg the frequent uploads!
You are so very gracious. I’ve been watching most of your videos to learn more about DID. I was surprised to find myself becoming protective and defensive of you while watching his comments. The strength and bravery you and the boys have shown to educate others is awe inspiring. I’ve also been watching your videos to give me strength for my own personal mental health struggle. I don’t have DID but I’m still at a place where I feel nervous and afraid to tell others about my struggles for fear of retribution and poor judgement. You all are so brave.
I’m a new subscriber, from California, and I just wanted to tell you that I think you are so brave, so courageous! You handle yourself with such humility and dignity. I honestly think your ability to handle life and life’s challenges better and more efficiently than people without DID. You and Gaz are clearly going to be amazing parents because Eevee will have the best of all ‘worlds’. Blessings to you and your entire family.
aaaww hearing about all the preperation Ed did for the interview makes me so happy☺️ bless💕
Ughhh I used to be subscribed to him you had so much patience throughout this video I don’t know how you do it. Honestly I’m so glad there are people like you on CZcams that can educate people like him 💖💖💖
He could at least do some research beforehand. Like I know it’s a “reaction” type thing.... but he could’ve avoided offending people. Although, Jess is handling this situation PERFECTLY. Shows their system’s maturity.
Jess you are the sweetest! Glad that Tal had that tonal shift towards the end there, sounds like you have both been open-minded and respectful -- I wasn't sure about that on his side from the beginning but he definitely took something from the documentary which is exactly the point! Kudos to all -- and shows that your system are getting somewhere with your mission xx
I just came here after watching your documentary on Reaction Time. Just subscribed to your channel. Didn't really know what DID was until now. Would love to know more about it. And yes of course, you handle it so pretty well.
Jess & boys/family: I love your channel SO SO much! I've learned so much and even schooled a friend when he watched the 2nd Split movie (making sure he knew that it wasn't a true representation of DID, but just a movie character). I've also introduced my 15 yr old son to your channel and he's intrigued, as well. Gaz is great just bc he is a great person. Not bc he "puts up" with the DID. That's just a part of who you are and he loves all of you. That is very apparent! You compliment each other extremely well and I send well wishes into the universe that you always feel the way you do about one another as you do now. I'm not able to be a patreon yet, but I hope to one day. I want to continually support you in helping to educate the world on DID. Ollie was soooooo adorable in the unboxing video! I connect with Ed on so many levels and respect him so much. Jess, I adore you too. Oh hell, I love you all for the many reasons that each of you in your system is different (I hope that made sense). Cheers to you all!! XOXO
Oooo girl!! You handled this so gracefully! This dude is beyond ignorant and I was mad by the time you were done reading the title. Thank you for doing this because so many of his viewers are going to see this and learn something. ♡
Wow you are such a kind, compassionate, and wise leader. I really respect how you dealt with this. I've been bullied on CZcams before and wish I had handled it the way you are. Thank you for the inspiration about how to deal with stuff like this! :)
Hi Jess! I'm so glad that you made this video and I'm glad Atl learned something about DID and thought it was interesting! I'm so glad you got awareness of your documentary out there, its a great one actually the first did documentary I have watched! I was already subscribed to your channel before Tal's so I knew what was right and wrong! I gave Tal a link to your channel in my comment on the video and thanked him for having an interest in, bringing awareness to and learning some things/opening his mind about DID! I love you so much!!! ❤❤❤❤❤💜💜💜💜💓💓💓
Jess, y’all support each other 100/100%! Every one of you is amazing!!!!!!
This reaction is done so thoughtfully, clearly with the intent of changing peoples minds from the inside, and that's how it's gotta be done. I hope your system knows that if there is a shift in the wind, the work you do is a decent chunk of that. Well done dears (:
I actually loved the part with you and the clapboard in that documentary because that is 100% something I would do
You have such a sweet and melodic voice! I love your voice and accent, Jess!
In Tal´s defense his channel is called "Reaction time" he reacts to things for the first time, he doesn't know the correct terms to refer to things and I also got a little upset with some things but in the end he came around. I think he thought it would be more of a goodie topic but realized that it was real an to not make fun of it. He has more serious videos about rare diseases and I think this was the first one he did on mental health. I'm sure he will either do another reaction video of this topic so we can learn alongside him or research it privately.
I love the way you handled this. If this was me, I would be so pissed -_-
Your response to this is incredible. I don't think I could handle this with such grace. I'd get mad lol - But your approach really does offer more education. Go you, Jess! - xo Jess
You’re all so sweet! I hope he saw this and is better informed now.
Kudos and props to Gaz. He's a doll and so down to earth but so helpful in every which way. I think it's wonderful how you two got together. I think Tal needs to meet actually DID systems and learn how unique alters are and that his normal singlemind is NOT the only way to look at the world and what trauma CAN do to people.
The love and understanding Jess,Gaz, and the whole system have for one another is one we should all strive for and try to give to our love ones and friends.
I want to have the same patience and good humour that you do Jess, you handled that like a boss. Xx
I’m so mad at tal, I mean I’m not gonna start any drama but I’m worried about him spreading misinformation. I’m so glad you made this video for clearing everything up though. I love you so much 💖 have a good day!
The way that you described that doctor making you feel really understood for the first time gave me all the feels. You can really tell that he made a magnificent difference in your life, and your adoration of him and his work is so moving. 💖💖💖
P.S. I hope you know that a lot of us don't just praise Gaz because he "puts up with you"- I have never thought that! We praise him because his love and compassion for you absolutely radiates from him, and I think a lot of people really want a partner who can show their love and be supportive (for any issue we could be dealing with) like he can. So many people aren't good at that. I think you *both* are lucky! I'd love to be real life friends with all of you! 💖
I didn’t know you weren’t the host for 6 years... learn something new everyday. 😂 I honestly didn’t think it could go on that long, but now I know haha
I have an animal alter, a black cat (like between a jaguar and a domestic cat) called Poppy and she was the first one I was aware of (didn't set up my own understanding very well).
It is super difficult to understand if you have never been educated by it. I'm glad people can learn about it, and it may be just investigating like Tal is. Even having a small understanding away from Split or Jackel and Hype is amazing. It's good to see how someone completely new to DID comment throughout the video.
I see a lot of people saying that he was "just" ignorant (not malicious), and while I agree with you, the issue is bigger than that. He's not just a rando, he's an influencer with an audience. He has an authority, his fans listen to what he says, and most of the time they're not going to look INTO it. He's responsible for how he represents real, living people, because he's who will dictate the opinion of many people who wouldn't even know about DID otherwise. Instead, he's diluting the understanding of it even further, conflating it with a dozen of different conditions and identities and basically just generating more confusion and prejudice as a result. It wouldn't be a big deal if he was just some guy asking questions and expressing his confusion, but he's not just a random dude. He has an authority. And, as you know. Great power means great responsibility.
It's nice that he's willing to learn though, so points for that.
I wouldn't have been this relaxed in my response to that guy. I admire you (all of you) for being able to be so relatively relaxed about it and handling it in such a way.
It’s also like the idea that he thinks that you’re the “original” or like the “real” person and the others are just extras, nin, dissociadid gives the metaphor of dropping a bowl and it shattering, there is no single original, they’re all the original psyche yet developed at different rates, points in time, ages, other social influence, etc almost like identical twins growing up in completely different environments.
Jess, you made my day putting his face on yours! I needed that laugh, thank you.

You have the grace and patience of a saint. Good for you for taking his whole reaction in stride, and being willing to watch through the end despite the ignorant comments at the beginning.
I love Tal too. I saw the video and was really hoping that he would be nice and when I watched it I was happy with the way he reacted
I am so impressed with how every single time he made an ignorant statement, you very calmly explained DID, how and why it happens. You are one hell of a human being (in the BEST way possible 💕)
Love how u handled this. You did amazing. Love your Chanel and how u explain everything.😘
