I am confused about this championship. Everywhere on the internet it says that this 1992 event was the first trick shot world championship. But Terry Griffiths says he is the defending champion ... how is this possible ? Does anybody know the answer ??
All videoprocessing done with Virtualdub. - Sport
700 trillion years of content on CZcams, and I'm watching this.
+David S. youtube advertising thanks you for being a brainwashed sucker sheep
+David S. Because this is magic !!!!
Yeah, you're the lucky one...in a million.
And so am I
This is True Art and good for the heart and mind
Like the Red Wine in my hand...
Cheers!
girl in the corner at 2:16 looks like she is having the time of her life!
i wish the modern players could do this for the fans
Easy win for Judd Trump
Steve Davis reminds me of James Acaster, in every possible way
Plot Twist: their scores are based on their jokes.
i tough it was based the french guy mullet xD
Yan Fagundes Not really a plot twist considering there is an Audience score...
i love how they miss so many but the apreciation of the croud is outstanding it shows how the game is not about making it but being humorous and fun (sometimes making it)
Unbelievable that the commentator feels entitled to talk over these geniuses.
terry's shots are mindblowing
Steve's Jimmy White joke has me in stitches!
Loved this, thanks for sharing
Hello, this is Mike Massey I'm a little disappointed that they didn't show me since I won the tournemt.
If you to see a really good trick shot show on a snooker table watch the Steve Davis and Mike Massey duo, produced by Barry Hearn
I meant to say if you want to see.
That head is shining tho
This was great thanks!
I won this tournemt 2 other times on a snooker table and loved performing with all the great snooker players.
I traveled to south Africa 2 times with the and Australia
And Australia 2 times.
I also traveled with Ronnie for 3 weeks around Switzerland protmoting snooker
He was only 17 and I knew right away he was going to be setting special at snooker
you're the real Mike Massey ?? it is an honour to meet you here in the comments of my video. and I have to apologize that your part is missing from it ... how awkward ! all the best ! hopefully you just gave me the kick to brush the dust off my snooker queue :o)
Robidoux's robot walk was actually really good
that girl at 2:17 had no ships to give😂😂
15:40. Imagine doing that in a billiard hall! You'd get free drinks all night. What a shot. One of the best shots I've ever seen.
bravo i watch this ppl for first time :D BRAVO BRAVO AND AGAIN BRAVO :D
Snooker is like a physicists playground
This is my favorite part of CZcams.
Interesting to see Alain Robidoux come across as an entertaining and pleasant natured guy. Funny because he's mostly remembered as the guy who refused to concede with 15 snookers required when he got all butt-hurt about Ronnie O'Sullivan playing a few shots left-handed.
When snooker players were all characters great memories. Miss the compere too.
Can the audience even see what's happening? The first row is about 50 feet back lol
Great upload
I love how it takes a bunch of new technology and video enhancing just to play a old VHS in nice quality lol
If the first bloke put on a red cap, he'd be a dead ringer for super Mario...
This bloke!, A true gentleman and great player Willie Thorne, rip,
congratulation man, very good!
Exploring awesomeness!
LOOL that FART at 38:48 xD hahah
Steve Davis🙏👑
i wish we still had characters like these lot in the game
Not sure if sarcasm or really asking, but so I'll explain it anyway.
He shot the most left ball on left making it spin clockwise. Hence it was touching the cushion and the middle ball, two effects occurred. Because it touched the cushion, the clockwise spin made it go towards the pot. And because it was touching the middle ball, it made that one spin too and a chain reaction started. Because the middle ball was also touching the cushion and the most right ball, it triggered the same effect.
Wow. A Trick Shot close to Christmas. I saw a Christmas Tree.
Amazing! :D
Steve Davis sounds just like Michael Caine in the 60's
2:16 the girl at the bottom right corner is reconsidering her decision on coming to a snooker trick shot championship with terrible puns
+AntarcticPlays Ok, this made me laugh
Super pokazy z bilami i triki.
I just randomly clicked this video...and I watched the entire thing.
thanks. I did a lot of postprocessing, even chroma shifting, to remove most artifacts of the old tape but not introduce new artifacts. but I do have one other VHS video online from 1990 which is even a lot better.
LEGENDS!!!
I will whenever I get a chance ;) thanks for the reply
Coooooooool!
lets see a crowd get that excited for a game of pool in 2015 lol. it would never happen
+josh herle snooker.
Wish we cuda seen Mike Massey at the end after Taylor...he's a stud in the USA even in his 60's. Greatest cue power of all time...and it's not close.
that there is some fast felt!
Willie Thorne made the exact same performance 12 years later on world snooker trickshot championship in Colwyn Bay, same shots same jokes :) but still very good :)
Just so you know, Mike Massey won.
good post
lmao , amazing scenes!
Imagine if they made half of those jokes nowadays. The BBC would sack their entire commentary team.
All the fun things I missed on t.v. wasting time in high school....
RIP Willie Thorn
snooker trickshot championships are done for fun. so yes, a big part of it is entertainment. that's also why is a technical and an audience mert.
Omg I remember that Robadoo, Robado, what ever lol.. Guy. He used to be on the tv doing trick shots all of the time, pool to if I remember rightly.
"Screen Sport".. Damn.. I miss that channel..
If you watched Davis' segment, he kind of gave it away- I'm surprised no one has mentioned it. When Davis rolled the coin down the table it kept rolling a certain direction, therefore insinuating that the table is tilted, or shimmed to one side to keep the coin hitting the cushion if it starts to fall. If you watch the coin shot again, it doesn't roll straight, it keeps hitting the cushion and standing back up.
had chats with Alain on fb- a real good bloke!
blimey, screensport, not seen them around for a while, when i was about 5 my mates dad worked for them.
Need this in 2012 with the likes of Ronnie, Judd and Neil Robertson...
i was watching johnny cash videos and i ended up here somehow...
Very entertaining rip willie
that kid at 16:00 did NOT want to be there lol.
I was watching scenes from Legend...
the table is much larger (width is similar like pool length !), on the other hand the balls are much smaller. And the shape of the cuhions around the pockets is wicked ! in pool you can use the cushions to get the ball in. it's opposite in snooker (due to pocket shape). if you touch the cushions the ball will be deflected away from the pocket instead of into it.
Give snooker a try, then come back and tell us of your experience ;o)
Hilarious that someone laughed at it right after!
You do not realize how much skill is involved in snooker.
1-It's not an easy sport do you now how hard it is t consistently cue the cue perfectly
2-It takes a lot of skill mentally to concentrate and play well for 18 odd frames, I play snooker and I only play 3 frames and Im dead by the end of it.
3-Have you ever heard "Snooker is like a game of chess" well it is, Its requires tactful thinking.
So to be honest I'd say Snooker is a very skillful game. Don't you.
So go shove your Barcelona.
How on earth does Steve Davis's shot at 53:15 work?
Why no Mike Massey? I was looking forward to his trick shots on a snooker table!
That's the year I was born.
i loled so hard when i read tht :p
is part of the sport giving a stand up routine.
i watched until 6:32 the i realized that this is 1 hour long
Dennis Taylor would have a hard time getting away with his jokes nowadays
Terry Griffiths is really very funny.
Steve Davis 😂😂
Steve "Interesting" Davis in the 1992 Snooker Standup Comedy Championship!
Windscreen wiper for a Lada car (just to complete the reference tags :)
I liked the joke about the anorak ....... An irishman American and Indian were on the empire state building the American says to the Irish man if u jump off the atmosphere will pull u back up the Irish guy says to the American are u sure paddy the American says watch he jumps and before he hits the ground he came zooming back up the Irish guy goes "sure to be god let me have a go" and jumps and smashs in to the ground below the indian turns to the American and says "superman you are a bastard"
Robidoux once accused O`Sullivan of bad sportsmanship because he played several shots with his left hand ..After a disciplinary hearing he had to play Rex Williams three frames using just his left hand ...Result...3---0 to O`Sullivan...Charges dropped ...Ronnie hasn`t spoken to him since....
I think you'll find he mentioned "Jocky Wilson" the Famous 80's "Dart Player"
I will explain, pool is for little girls, and frustrated snooker players. .. Snooker is the game for the brave, its the game that the 'big fish in little ponds pool players' avoid. No pool player could ever play snooker even at its lowest levels. And 'no' efton ryes , whatever his name is has ever seen a snooker table, he couldn't reach it to play a shot.
Best part of this is the hair styles.
wow. alain robidoux must have been some player..
43:30 - please dont disciminate Alex Higgins - He loved his drink fine... but takin the piss is not
i thought that too
John Virgo Legend.
LOL 2.20 the kids sitting there like i give a shit :p
Someone on Twitch sent me here.
hahaha, well spotted
Watching Snooker.
You know it's quite entertaining...
trickshot? it's just a talkshow with some snooker table on the background
nope. I must disappoint you. USA leads with 8 dislikes, followed by UK with 4, then Switzlerland Malaysia an Thailand each 3.
Thought the stats might be interersting ;o)
Take my word for it. Its much much harder. A snooker table is almost twice the size of a pool table. Try to play these shots on a pool table and then try to find a snooker table where you live and do the same shots. You will see the differens.
finaly the last player showed me what frame to wear while playing snooker
15:55 that kid in the funny jacket...he's DEAD INSIDE!
Also what accent is that from the man at 30 minutes in? It's really cool.
+wazzobazzo welsh
+hiimthomi Oh right I've heard the accent before (from some Idol show or something I think)...along with irish it just sounds really awesome. Cheers:)
wazzobazzo yeah i'm english but go to university in wales, it's quite a pleasant accent. if it was a talent show that you heard it on, it might be "the voice", tom jones (welsh singer) is/was a judge on that show i believe.
+wazzobazzo Isn't the Kid Frankie Muniz?
The last one got his glasses wrong XD
How's Steve Davis's first shot even possible.......
man this was the time to live in where people had to be courteous and watch the tournament and not be on there stupid cell phone and internet etc
Oh, the Davis segment I'm referencing starts at 58:06
Mr Thorne missed right at the start on bloody purpose, its obvious! Haha. Whoever has the rest of the missing footage, please dig out your old VHS tapes (or Betamax!) see if you have it and upload it please! :o Poor old John Virgo.. He was good but Steve Davis.. God damn.
They tried to time it right when he hit the ball. lolololololol
