It's one of the oldest known sites where people settled and started farming. It completely broke archaeologists understanding of when humans started to build modern society. So I think if AI is going to take over we should probably meet where this all started right?

Best part is if you are a student using this you realize that it is an accelerated learning tool. No longer need to read the entire chapter to find the answer, if you learn how it works and how to double check your work you can get your homework done so damn fast. And usually on multiple choice quizzes chat gpt will get at least 70% on it's own, if you use the tool responsibly it feels like your downloading knowledge the same way they do in The Matrix. chatGPT programming is like using a forecasting model to predicting the weather far into the future. The further it get from the starting point the what-comes-next predictions steer off course and starts to produce gibberish. It needs handholding and experienced programmers are the ones that have to do it.
Yep, and after a certain point, you just expend more mental energy (and money) on arguing with a chatbot that barely even understands the world than it would take to actually write the code yourself. GPT-4 is still prone to that, just sightly less. Given we're already running out of text to train this thing on, the only improvements I see in any near future is optimization, which I find more useful than scaling, since you can basically download a lossily compressed version of the entire internet to do stuff like browse an entire hallucinated internet set in a given setting you've described in the prompt, or maybe just some simple document search and idea generation. If the hype finally dies down, we might start actually exploring what this thing's good for, instead of pretending we've made an AGI.
