  • Learn the best way to condition and look after your wholesale cut sunflowers for an up and coming wedding, event or simply just styling your home!
    To get the best from your wholesale cut sunflowers please read the care instructions below carefully:
    - Cut the stems at a 45 degree angle with a sharp knife.
    - Strip the lower foliage from the stems.
    - Fill sterilised buckets with luke warm water.
    - Place the sunflowers in the buckets.
    - Leave over night to condition before using.
    - It is advisable not to condition Sunflowers in galvanised buckets (especially with flower food) as it can be detrimental to the longevity of the blooms.
    - Based on in-house trials, we advise not to use flower food with sunflowers. We have found that commercially grown sunflowers for the florist industry responded better when using fresh water changed daily rather than flower food retained over a period of days.
    - We have also found that they do not respond well when arranged in wet foam.
    Never leave cut flowers in direct sun light, near a radiator, in a draft or near fruit. (The gas used to ripen fruit will harm most flowers). Keep the sunflowers in a cool place and always keep out of the way of children.

    Great video, I am excited for my sunflowers 🌻
    So, do they need fertilizer? I can’t seem to find a clear answer on what, when or if they need anything besides water. Seems weird that they wouldn’t need some kind of food to grow.😕

    Do you have to let the water cool down first before pouring it into the vase or right after you boil it??

      There’s still condensation on the inside, so it must be hot water!

      I followed the tutorial, boiling water. Pour the boil into the glass container right away. And put the sunflower. You can see the different within 15 minutes!

    My sunflowers face East and north, ironically. My main patio faces north and we can’t see any of the faces. We have to sit ate another patio that is out in the north east corner to see them growing in the garden. Not sure if this is normal or an anomaly... but that’s my experience in the Sonoran desert.

      it's normal, they don't follow the sun, that's a myth, really surprised to hear her perpetuate it on an educational video

  • @eina162
    @eina162 Před 2 lety +1

    Why does, when sunflowers arrived the leaves is so fresh and healthy but after put into the vase of water, the leaves started dropping and wilted, is that normal?

    • @trianglenursery
      @trianglenursery  Před 2 lety

      Interestingly, many flowers leaves do deteriorate before the actual flower including Viburnum berries. If you want to avoid this, you can remove all of the leaves before placing into the vase!

      Thank you for watching our video. Unfortunately, we only sell the cut flowers available to purchase on our website www.trianglenursery.co.uk and not the seeds. You can purchase generic sunflower seeds from a local garden centre or online. I hope this helps
