i am not so much interested in size per se, but in the varying size of bud to flower. the reason i like Gypsophila flowers is that bunches of them remind me of images of star fields, star clusters and nebulae, where the difference of size of star conveys the sheer immensity of space. i wonder if all the varieties bud-to-flower proportions are the same, or whether the stem shape and structure is slightly different for each one.
also, i'm assuming that as the season progresses, the balance of open flowers to new as-yet-unopened buds must change. its ok, you can go and lie down now!

I am interested in Gypsophila for use in a border. Which variety will give large clumps with small flower heads?
