  • In "What's My Mower???" Taryl shows you what to look for when your water cooled Kawasaki engine has a loss of power. Before the fix part, Taryl hosts a popular lawn mower related game show entitled "What's My Mower???" where 3 contestants have to answer questions about their own lawn equipment for points. If they answer incorrectly, they take a zapping from the coil wire! Check out all the hilarious shenanigans here for the full story! And There's Your Dinner!!!

    My problem exactly. No spark right cylinder. Checked the ignition coil, it was good. Did lots or reading... Some people suggested the time delay module (30$) others suggested the ignitor module (200$). Thanks to this video I checked the plugs coming off the ignitor and sure enough one of the female connections inside the plug had broken so I bypassed it with a spade connector and it ran like it should. You saved me a bunch of time and dollars, thanks!!!

    Pairing the male and female to avoid confusion was a good hint. We also heat shrink a marker on wires. Stay well. Nice addition to the ensemble.

    On the liquid cooled Kawasaki vertical shaft engines I was able to clean and then slightly bent the connector teeth. I then used heat shrink wire protector and never had trouble again. This worked on 3 different customers machines. All 3 were John Deere. 😊

    • @thekingsilverado9004
      @thekingsilverado9004 Před 3 lety

      I actually fixed one by heating that plastic around em and giving a squeeze. I used a heat un to soften em figuring if that failed I would just cut the connectors off. I had one hell of time figuring out where the grief was coming from. I was actually doing my own lawn raking the spring leaves last year and I got the customers tractor to idle decent for a few minutes while I was still raking before I opened the shop for the day kind of thing. Then the thing went out of kilter the hood was completely off and my rake slipped hit the friggin wires and it was running good again. Picked up the rake it started idling sour again. It was a holy shit moment of discovery totally on accident. I screwed around with them wires and my first choice was to squeeze those connectors after I heated the plastic around em. I have had this with Silverado and Ford trucks here that I service... The shit gets really deep at times when it is a mystery problem. This fix I blundered into the fix and solutions.. Right now I have people trying to give me these Deere mowers they are so pissed off at those shitty rear ends... I literally have 2 dozen of em now all with bad rears all various models.... There really should be a law suit against Tuff Torq...

      There might very well be a reason they ain't got places like that around here where I live. If U R too stupid to know what kind of mower ya got ya get what U deserve. for the most part. I have a shop here service this stuff regularly most people don't even have a clue a riding mower and some push mowers even have a belt or a carb on it. All they know is gas goes in it...

    That would be the common fix ... when you have a world of electric components, 2 & 3 connector pigtails are cheap insurance. I like the trailer connection sets.... mark/tag your wires, snip, solder, heat shrink tube, , a dab of silicone in female side or just tape around the joint, viola ... eliminates confusion upon future work.

Don't know manufacturer, model, CPU, type of printer or how it's connected (USB or network). craftsman has other manufacturers make there equipment. like AYP,Noma,Murray,i even seen a snapper with Craftsman logo on it( yes in a Sears store). for a long time Sears would buy engines without Warranty when they had a extended warranty program. I had a costumer that bought a Murray (1990) which was junk. then he took it back to Walmart and said I never own a Murray again. then bought a Craftsman which had problems. I asked him I thought you never own a Murray again? He said I would never own a Murray, I broke his little heart. brought him in a showed him his model number on the mico fish. I stated made by Murray . never say never.
