I worked as an EMT on a ambulance in Taft California back in the early 80's They had "kids" driving "NEW" Kenworths ( 20+ yrs old). They did not have the experience driving these trucks and ended up crashing quite a few of them. That seemed to be the mindset on these companies on who they hired. How they passes the CDL is beyond me. There were mostly "good conscientious drivers that were hard working and productive. At that time there were a "slew" of jobs you could get in the oilfields. Even good company jobs as well

@@user-iw1wp6em3j there’s no equipment that’s doesn’t take a beating! The up side is the pay is good I was 6 to 9 a mile so you just have to spend money on maintenance. The other big expensive is the companies charge a lot for cargo insurance. They have to carry a lot of insurance for oil field work. I was leased to Trophy trucking in Odessa Tx you can google them and call they will give details you need your own truck and trailer flat or step or winch truck they also run hot shot with mini float.
I'm in Midland, TX working for Properto Services and it effing sucks! I don't drive as much as I want to plus having to rig up and down as a Cement Equipment Operator is not for me. My Hazmat and Tanker endorsements are pretty much worthless because every employer is looking for someone with 2 years experience. I have 3 months plus lease road experience; I'm a U.S. Veteran and still can't get into Hazmat. I'd like to haul Fuel or Crude oil, but the companies blame their insurance smh. Yo Loco can you give me some pointers? And definitely keep it between the ditches! LOL
I’m interested in getting in this field currently I am doing 3 to 4 weeks out at a time with two days home time currently in NC how do I go about looking into that I have four months experience CDL driver hazmat tankers
I have a job offer in midland tx to lease my international LT 2019 on but I’m debating if I should take it being you say the roads are really bad and beat your truck down idk if it’s worth it or not, maybe just park my truck and ride company
Park your truck and ride company until you see if it's for you. The roads are bad but there are mandatory speed limits on those roads (aka lease roads) that require drivers to go slow. Good luck!

Hopefully the pay makes up for the ware and tare on the truck for maintenance
Those roads are so bad in west and south Texas. Have you ever worked ND? I think they pay the best.
