  • Here's a mini midi tutorial to get you up and running with the Elektron Digitone as master clock/sequencer for the ASM Hydrasynth.
    Thanks for tuning in.

    I was tripping out over the delay effects when you were talking lol. When a synth tutorial sounds like an actual track! Thanks for your video! Was very helpful.

      @@VoltageCtrlRtv My friend, another small question: with this link you have shown it is possible to clearly play and sequence Hydra, directly from Digitone. But, in order to record the audio signal of both machines on the sound card/ DAW, how should I do it? The Digitone, I see that has the two line outs (L / R) that are attached: while the Hydra? Does the latter also need to have the audio outputs connected to the mixer / sound card in order to be both recorded in audio? Thank you very much indeed.

      @@alexmax9832 If you have a soundcard that has two stereo inputs, you can dedicate a stereo track to each instrument. The alternative is to connect the L/R outputs of the Hydrasynth into the L/R inputs of the Digitone. The cool thing about this option is you can process the Hydrasynth through the Digitone effects.

    Hi, cool style ;). I’m new to using a midi controller... can the knobs on digitone controller freq cutoff and other parameters on the hydra? I can’t seem to get that far yet ( first few hours with this setup). Thanks, and later

    Thnx for the helpful video. Have you tried program changes? I have a weird issue when I change the pattern, hydrasynth will switch the voice as well according to the pattern number. Even though I have specified the prog # as well as bank where I want it on themidi page.

    Hey was dealing with a voicing issue with his set up; playing hydras pads was creating duplicating messages. I solved it by turning local off on the hydra, unfortunately that setting doesn’t save when powering off, therefore I gotta do it each time i go to play. I made adjustments on the digitone but that now effects my midi to other gear. Any advice/workarounds?

      I'm not sure off hand, i've never encountered that issue. Sowwy

    Thx for the vid. How have you found these two synths work together sound wise?
    Thx

    • @VoltageCtrlRtv
      @VoltageCtrlRtv  Před 3 lety

      They compliment each other. Plus the Hydrasymth doesn't have a proper sequencer so it's great combo for that as well.

      Your the perfect person to ask. If I connect the digitone to hydrasynth to eurorack, would I be able to sequence the modular via digtone (using hydras cv)???
      -thx

    • @VoltageCtrlRtv
      @VoltageCtrlRtv  Před 3 lety

      you can send pitch and gate out directly to the modular via Hydra cv, you can't control the digitone with cv. it just has midi in and out

    Have you tried sending program change locks from the Digitone to the Hydrasynth? I am curious to know how fast the program change happens.

    • @VoltageCtrlRtv
      @VoltageCtrlRtv  Před 4 lety +1

      Korhan Erel I haven’t tried that yet. I’ll have to test that out today. ✌🏾

      @KorhanErel Před 4 lety +3

      Well, now that I have a Hydrasynth, I can answer my own question: no, the program changes on the Hydrasynth are not fast.

    Would this setup work with connecting the hydrasynth to a digitakt?

    • @VoltageCtrlRtv
      @VoltageCtrlRtv  Před 4 lety

      James Balehowsky Yeah, it’s pretty much the same menu in the Digitakt and Digitone
