    This was very helpful and comprehensive. Do you have or would you be prepared to make a video explaining how to set up the Digitakt to be controlled by an external MIDI hardware? For example setting the sliders on my controller to control volume of each of the 8 tracks

    • @ElektronVideoKlub
      @ElektronVideoKlub  Před 3 lety

      Track Volume CC MIDI value on Digitakt is 95. Depending on your MIDI controller, you can assign that value to your sliders/faders or you may have to use your DAW and MIDI mapping.

      @@ElektronVideoKlub My midi controller is programmable. Are there any specific settings I'll need to enable on the Digitakt, other than ones already covered in the video, to make it work? Or is it pretty much the case of looking up the CC values in the Digitakt manual, programming the desired encoders to that value on the controller and it'll work?
      Thank you for your response btw!

      I've managed to figure it out actually, thank you for your help thus far though! 😊

    my biggest question: can you play on the keyboard of your external synth and capture the midi on the digitakt to achieve anything close to live looping?

    • @panzi45
      @panzi45 Před rokem +5

      Late answer, but yes: I use e.g. Korg Prologue as midi keyboard -> notes are saved on digitakt sequencer -> notes go back to trigger Prologue synth engine. Works pretty nice for me so far :)

    This is a golden tutorial. Thanks!! Question: Can you enter notes, cc changes into the Digitakt using your external synth--rather than using the buttons on the digitakt? Kinda like what you do with the Pyramids sequencer, where it records midi values and parameter changes from your midi'd synth to the Pyramids? Or is this a one way proposition with the Digitakt?

  • @abrokenframe82

    Excellent video, extremely helpful. Would it be possible to connect a controller keyboard to the midi in on the Digitakt and use this to play in notes into the sequencer instead of the buttons the Digitakt itself? Also, as there is only 4 note polyphony would it be possible to set an external synth like the pro 800 to 2 different midi channels so it could play the full 8 notes of polyphony from the Digitakts sequencer?
    Thanks for any help.

    For example, is it possible to assign MIDI channel 9 and 10 from one device, in my case the Mircrofreak? With different sounds? If i change the sound on the Mircofreak its changes all MIDI channel, i want different sounds from one device. Nice video btw. :)

    Noob question, to use 2 different midi instruments, i need quadra thru or a midi interface hey? I have midi chanel 1 assigned to virus ti. And channel 16 to volca kick. But virus doesnt have midi thru 😒

    It it possible with an external keyboard synth, to alternate between using it to play audio samples 1-8 on AutoChannel, and then back to playing the actual sounds on the keyboard itself?

    how to connect the digitakt to monitor? are you use (midi out - usb) to your monitor? or you just only use (elektron usb cable) to monitor?

    I do have a question: @elektronvideoklub: are you using a particular mixer to combine both JU06A and the digitakt?

    • @ElektronVideoKlub
      @ElektronVideoKlub  Před 3 lety

      For the video, we ran both machines into an audio interface and monitored the audio with headphones.

    • @Hakucho64
      @Hakucho64 Před 2 lety

      Another option with the latest firmware (1.30) would be to run the JU06A's audio output into the DT's audio input, and mix them using the DT's external mixer. Once you have a third audio source though, you'd need a dedicated mixer.

  • @lesvolga1355
    @lesvolga1355 Před 2 lety

    And if for example I wish to connect two or more audio devices to DT? Will they both be acting as two separate mono channels? I mean if Digitone sends audio via its two outputs, and I have another modular system I wish to have sound from as well - so I need a separate external mixer to have all three pieces sounding? Thanks!

    Hi! I want to connect the Behringer TD3 and the Volca Keys. They both got midi channel number 1. How do I connect the two without them producing the same patterns?

    • @mdgunnuk
      @mdgunnuk Před měsícem

      Change the channel on either td3 or keys. It’s not fixed to channel 1. Normally it sticks between on/off though so you usually just need to do it one time. how you do it varies, even between volcas but it’s always possible. Can’t remember keys presses of the top of my head. I think td3 might be slightly easier (no reboot).
