This was a great tutorial. Exactly what I needed. I went ahead and reattached the fuse box after purging the fuel line, then unplugged the battery. Then I took out the old pump and installed the new. The metal seal was a pain to put back on. But when it was done, there was no check engine light! Thanks so much!

great demonstration. i had a difficult time removing the rear seat bottom cushion. probably because i am 64 years old and not as strong as you. on another video the mechanic put a pan under the fuel pump when he pulled it out of the fuel tank to catch any gasoline drips. i recommend brushing off the top of the fuel pump before removing it from the tank. i would also recommend placing rags around the pump hole and on top of the seat bottom to catch any fuel spill. the gasoline fumes will stink for awhile. as an airplane mechanic i would put a baggie with an absorbent rag in it on the fuel hose to catch any drips. great job. thanks

Just wanted to let you know that I’ve only ever changed a headlight in my car. I knew the issue was the fuel pump from sending videos to people of the issue. I watched this tutorial, followed your instructions, and you seriously saved me like $400. Car is running great!

When working to get out the pump metal ring thing (8:58), have your friend or sibling do the hammering on the opposite way. The metal thing we are supposed to rotate is mostly crooked so this will save tons of time.
This is really the perfect and only video you need to place the fuel pump.

Good looking out on this video. It worked on my 2011 Nissan Pathfinder. I just had to cut out a square on the metal panel with electric blade saw. Eazy and simple. No experience needed. Access is behind the driver seat. Back left passenger seat. Lift seat up.Time it took was 25 min. Thanks again for this video.

Thanks for sharing, been running my 2018 Nissan Rogue with the CEL on for months now because of bad fuel temp sensor which is part of the fuel pump. Car has 161K miles and although the fuel pump still works, I think its time to get it replaced before it fails catastrophically. Your vides gives me everything I need to know to get the job done myself instead of having my shop do it. I will be buying the OEM fuel pump which will hopefully last as long as the one I am replacing.

Great video and explanation. Does it works with a Nissan Qashqai J10 Diesel? I've been told that my car model has no access to the fuel pump from the back seat, and I should remove the tank growing up the car. They were not sure, I'd like to avoid to dismount the back seat :) as a side note, my car is working, but the sensor for the diesel level is not working.

So if you come across the problem with the fuel tank/pump metal locking ring not fitting flush or some metal slots are overlapping/misaligned then just use the original Green rubber O ring instead of the new one or get one similar in size to the OEM Green Rubber O ring. I came across the same problem with the new black Rubber O ring not fitting but used the original Green rubber O ring which is bigger than the new Black Rubber O ring in size and I was able to insert the metal locking ring back with no problems. (Took me 2 hours of struggling and finally comparing both Rubber O rings to release my mistake). -2010 Rogue SL AWD-
