Both The Power Station 🚉 & Arcadia albums are solid albums. A View To A Kill is a great single & Bond movie song. Interesting & productive year for the band members.

It would have been wild if they did a metal album

I remember sending you a copy of Arena. A lot going on with the band at this time. I actually bought Arcadia by mistake a couple of years ago. I was thinking it was Arcade, the band Stephen Pearcy had at one point. Yeah, I’m actually that fucking stupid sometimes. I don’t know that I ever gave that album a fair chance. I don’t think I listened to the whole thing. I remember when Power Station was out. I did love the sound of the drums. I went to this little village about eight miles from my hometown at that time and played drums for some little band at a festival they have every summer. We played a DD song but I can’t remember which one. Or two actually. But after the show I wandered the streets because I was high and I remember that Power Station album blaring from somewhere and it was just traveling down the streets. It was cool except I think they just kept playing it. But anyway, another great video Jeff!

What a great band. I’ve probably seen them live more than any other band.

Another great video, Jeff!!! I never realized that Arcadia and Power Station were offshoot bands of Duran Duran. Now I need to check those albums out!

Hi Jeff I just binged watched the first 4 in the series and all four are outstanding. Growing up I was a huge fan from the debut self titled record all the way through the offshoots of Arcadia and Power Station. I didn’t know power station toured with a different lead singer. Arcadia I felt had the edge overall on power station. Election Day from Arcadia is a classic for me. The Arena record I had on cassette tape and I played it constantly and like Wild Boys quite a bit. Strangely I went from loving Duran Duran/ Arcadia/ Power Station to never buying another Duran Duran since. I am most looking forward to your next videos to see if I get hooked on them again (I know you just posted Notorious)

Thanks! I much prefer the Arcadia album probably because it sounds more like Duran Duran. I stopped following Duran Duran after the Liberty album and only picked up Medazzaland after that. I’m glad you are enjoying the deep dives!

Awesome video Jeff! Wow we’re polar opposites on this one! Wild Boys is one of my favorite DD songs and i like the Power Station better than anything by DD , except Harvest for the world which i think is average, i really dislike the Arcadia album and think it sounds almost nothing like DD! But we all hear things differently! Great video brother 👍🤘🤘

More than any previous videos in the Duran Duran series, this one really piqued my interest. Having finished listening to Arcadia's So Red the Rose, I found myself disappointed by the barely discernable Gilmour guitar contributions, but pleased with the quality of the album overall. Next up: Power Station.

Hi Jeff!!! Had no idea "Wild Boys" was realeased with the live album, not one of my favorite tracks from the band, on the other hand "A View...." is much better. I think the Power Station album is great and the sound of the drums is awesome, the swing Tony Thompson's bring to the band is remarkable. However i remember back in the day Duran Duran fans had to struggle between the two bands sound "rock" vs "pop". cheers and be well

Thanks Cristian! You are spot on about both those songs. Yes I also recall their being split loyalty among fans between the two side projects. I also remember thinking Duran Duran had changed their name to Arcadia, such was the confusion over that release. Cheers!
