Authorities visit flood-prone areas in the greater Banjul area and West Coast Region.

As the 2024 rainy season fast approaches, government is taking steps to mitigate the occurrence of disasters in flood prone areas across the country. On behalf of his excellency vice president and chairperson of the national disaster management council, the minister of environment, climate change and natural resources teamed-up with the transport, works and infrastructure minister to visit flood-prone areas in the greater Banjul area and the West Coast Region on Tuesday. GRTS’ Omar P. Jallow reports, the tour is part of initiatives to strengthen disaster mitigation.
