  • Easy approach to drain the engine block of coolant on 2002 - 2008 Toyota Corolla from the top without going underneath the car. Most people get to the engine block drain spout from below, but with this approach you won't need to go under the car.

Ahh if only breaking things open go that easy!

Lol. I know what you mean!
Reminds me of one Beck and Arnley PCV valve I got for a 2003 Accord... Screwed it on, hadn't even torqued down to spec (was using a torque wrench), the thing twisted off the block! I was able to unscrew the stub and reinstalled the OEM I took out after a quick clean.

Lol. You don't even need to go under. Place a mirror against the firewall and reach it from the top working off the reflection on the mirror. Once you get to it twice or so, you cab do it blind.

Can’t you drain from radiator or radiator hoses? I would not touch this if I were you. If that breaks you are doomed.

This has to be done in addition to the radiator (if you want to get everything out).

I've found the best way to remove stuck bolts or nuts is to use plenty of extensions to increase the torque and rather than trying to "force" them loose with continuous pressure, use a hammer and give the ratchet or breaker bar a few light to moderate taps. This will "jar" it loose gradually, which is safer than applying a great deal of force all at once. Also, NEVER use a 12-point wrench or socket. I don't know why those things were even invented.

Ouch! I honestly don't remember. I'll see if I recorded the entire drainage segment for a guesstimate...
