09:07 Backhand Flip Bonus Tip - Sport
Thanks but still the flip is not clear the updated one is it wrist elbow for short and wrist elbow with more swing for long or shoulder included as in the second type . I am confused.
To make it more simple, there are two types of backhand the older version used before 2010 that was more pivot from the elbow oriented and the new one that includes more wrist like a backhand banana flip it’s quicker and more in front of the body. If you want to start to include a backhand flip into your game I think it’s easier to use a banana type flip “like” technique for short and long balls the stroke just gets a little longer and uses the space under the table when the ball is longer maybe uses slightly less wrist and more elbow but still “feels” the same. For player references look at Samsonov technique for backhand loops he uses the older version less wristy and Fan who uses a more backhand flip like technique for pretty much all backhand shots. Samsonov flips with the backhand but it’s rarely against serves that are underspin mostly when the opponent serves side top spin where fan can flip any ball because his technique is fluid through the distances. Hope this helps, it’s less a technical video about backhand flip and more a “philosophical” idea that can help if you have a backhand flip and want to start including it more in your game. I’ve made videos about the backhand flip and bh loop if you want to learn more
Hi, Seth I am from the USA and I am a retired pro table tennis player due to a car accident. You play great here! Lots of fantastic shots. You should play for the national teams of your countries. I wish you continued success, and keep up the great playing!
please upload more often, you are one of my favourite creators right now :D
Thanks! I will do my best, its tough, Im very focused on learning and improving but I am very excited to share what I learn
Thanks to you , Seth, and Paddle Palace for this video. I realized that whenever I finish one of your videos I am always in a better place and mood. Thanks again for all your work.
Thanks for the compliment I’m glad you enjoy the videos I need to make more! I videotaped all my matches and want to do reviews.
love the cut 😂 boozie fade go crazy (only watched up till the intro)
Great video! Good luck with the training and the rest of the season! Might be cool to do some VLOGS from the full time trainings.
Now that you play in Germany do you also live there?
I have to work within the visa restrictions 3 months for every 6 months but I think Ill come back next season as well. thats why Im in Japan right now to reset my german visa and get some practice! I like that Idea Ill see what I can do :)
@@PechPongTT Thank you so much for replying! Love the effort you put into the channel, inspires us to continue to improve as well. Have fun in Japan and see you in the next video ;)
Always fun to watch you play Seth. You give some of the best match reviews on the web and I always learn something useful. Good luck in Germany and Japan!
Good stuff. Thanks for the video man, keep them coming!
Will do!
I love every video you made !
Keep doing it please ❤
Thanks for everything from france

Thanks again Seth!
Amazing 🎉
Awesome Seth …. Bon-voyage .. and all the best for the matches
Thank you !
Great stuff, as always.
Thanks!
One of the best and most sympathetic ever met
So happy for you that you can train full time and get some extremely high level match play in. Your love of the game, dedication to detail and raw talent will get you as high as you can imagine. Your game reminds me of Eric Owens. When he launched to a new level, he was beating the 2700 players. Your fans will be watching.
Thank you! I think your right I think the sky is the limit :) Ill keep it going 👊
Hi, can you do a video about your table tennis career? Like why do you play in Germany and what makes you go to Japan and so on...would be really cool. Maybe a new vlog?
I like that Idea would be interesting to do
Bro got bulk and fade cut lol. Nice match and tutorial :DD
The haircut was 100% not what i asked for but I guess the barber had a different Idea. OH well 🤷♂
Seth the world traveler! Thanks for another great video!! Also, nice haircut!
I love traveling, sometimes its tough but its mainly physically tiring but i can deal with that. other than that its all positives :)
Very, very great match, Seth. Playing like a pro...Its gave me some motivation
Glad it did 👊🙌 go get ‘em!
All the best for your training in Japan! Sounds like it'll be an incredible experience.
It’s has been great! 🙌
Nice video and good luck in Germany!
Thank you 🙏
Keep up the great content! Hope you learn lots in Japan and Deutschland! Both countries have such rich TT culture
Thank you! Yes I hope to learn a lot too! They are amazing table tennis countries.
Thanks for another video. Great to hear that you found your way to Germany. Do you find it easier to play "fulltime" here than in the USA? Did you get an offer to play here or was it your choice?
Crushing it in Germany! 4th league is super strong. If you’re ever in Berlin I can intro you to similar level players!
thank you! that would be awesome maybe Ill come around that way
@@PechPongTTmake a collab with @tischtennisali2022 in Berlin, hes a super nice guy playing 3rd league and a youtuber too ;)
I'd like to see videos of what you learned in Japan; maybe also some training sessions w/ coaches, and games you play in Japan.
yeah that would make for a good video I will see what I can do!
You have a strong build that is not very common among TT players. It will work as your advantage in future games as you gain more experiences.
Thank you! I have worked hard on that in the gym. I feel that for my style of play its important to be fast strong and have good endurance. Others are more defense and touch play oriented which is important for me to improve on as well
What kind of material are you currently playing? I also think your videos are really great, keep it up.
Seth, you are the greatest 😍🔥
Thank you! Im glad you think so I try my best 😅
Interesting, I think my equipment has a lot more power, but you and your opponent's consistency was also wonderful. DHS Hurricane 301 and H8 Hard and Fastarc G-1 Max
Going to Japan for 2 months to train. Sounds like a dream :) enjoy the delicious food and beautiful culture over there. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I've just been there myself and can't wait to go again 😅
Did we need to know you had been there
@@rorythomson-yr4jrNo we did not, BUT it was a nice personal touch and showed that he knows what he is talking about. Why the vitriol?
Yes Haha of course we did!@@rorythomson-yr4jr
Thank you! its amazing so far lots of new seafood and Im excited to keep learning about the culture they try to be very respectful to others
You look so happy being a professional ping pong player - congrats!
Thank you yes it’s a dream come true honestly, this sport confused me and I’m happy to say I’m well on my way to figuring it out! I don’t know everything but it’s coming together :)
So very close! Great rallies!
Just looked up your stats. 10:4 in Regionalliga is very impressive! Your initial rating is/was very low which means that each win cost the other player the maximum number of points of their rating...
Thanks yeah It been lots of close matches but Ive been able to pull them out! haha yes nobody likes playing me because of losing their rating!
Great to see you upload again! where in Japan are you training!? my friends and I are visiting in Mid January to end January! Best of luck!
Thanks, I’m based in Sapporo Japan right now training with a team from a company and a college group, where are you headed?
@@PechPongTT Ohh, we are planing on going to Sapporo right after we land if the weather permits in mid January! then straight to Osaka! we don't know any good places to hit haha but we did hear Sapporo food is good!
also Sid is playing at the same league ! good luck for both of u...
Thanks man! Hope Sid plays well too
Seth, your block is so much better in this game!!! A lot more aggressive blocking close to the table.
Can i make a fan request.
In future videos, would you be able to have a small section in the video , where you analyze 30seconds of it in slow motion. Within it you describe, the opponents serve, weaknesses, minute detailed errors, improvements, poor/good choice of serves, precise strategy, like second by second, rather than a global general strategy.
i.e. I can't see precisely where this opponents weaknesses is. (other than he can't return a variety of serves). And what would you do in the future to win against this type of player?
thanks yes im trying to stay closer and put more pressure on the blocks its not 100% there but its coming! I like that Idea i think my format for reviewing matches needs to be updated and thats a good way to do it!
I already filmed my next one so it will have to be on the next next one ;)
I really enjoyed watching you play after having watched so many of your training videos, which are all very well thought out! Speaking as a left hander, I can assure you that there is no benefit in using your backhand to attack hard down the line. A better option is to hit a high top spin cross court giving us an option to go down the line or back to you forehand. Seriously though, do you use the same grip on your backhand and forehand. I don't but I find it hard to flip the short backspins back over the net. Do most high level players (shakehand) use the same grip on
forehand and backhand?
Amazing, I have learnt so much from watching your videos! I'm based in Berlin, would you concider giving some lessons whilst you are in Germany? . Thanks for all your hard work
Hey thank you so much! I’m not sure I really dedicate my time there to practicing and spare time to producing videos. 😅
Nice match/analysis...testing K3 forehand..K1 backhand with a human today been breaking it in with the return board....
good to hear yes give it a try maybe its for you
so far, I like it a lot find out more Wed. night...@@PechPongTT
How u compare vs unlimited and viscaria, tibhar is good choice? Curently im using samsonov force pro Black and wonder od unlimited will be good upgrade
My god; you look even stronger than when you left! Super-saiyan-seth is unstoppable 💪. You should do a video (or segment) about nutrition!
I would be happy to do something like that. yes I was going to the gym every other day for two months before I came to Germany!
Training in Japan is ELITE!!🔥
yes it will be good for my game 👊
your playing style is very suit to use W968
Even though it was 3x1 it was a close game, a few set balls and the game couldve gone either way, but yeah it happens 🤷♂Best luck on your training in Japan! Hopefully you can learn some new secret techniques there and share with us
yes it was very close and a tough loss but thats the game and I can better prepare for the next one! thanks Ive already learned one or two things looking forward to sharing them with you!
You play really well off the table with hybrid rubbers. Everyone just talks about them at the table but it’s nice to see off the table as well. What kind of adjustments did you make for this?
I think it’s important to be physically strong, as well as expect to always give something to the ball not like tenergy where you can just let it bounce off your racket
Hey Seth, I love your videos!
How do you update the scoreboard? Manually every time it changes or is there a faster way?
Yes I sad down and created all the different combinations in photoshop and exported them to a folder, when I’m editing I open the folder and do a search “5-9” for example and it comes up because that’s what I named it. I drag it in and move on to the next point. I then size one down to how I like and copy that effect and apply to all of them.
@@PechPongTT Thank you for a detailed answer! I took scoreboards for granted until I looked up how they're made and updated haha
Nice video Seth. Where in Japan are you going/training? Better stock up on some cheap butterfly equipment!
I am training in Sapporo Japan with a group of players who play in the Japan business leagues as well as at a local university the culture here does a good job of including Table Tennis in the players lives without them having to compromise their Priorities like work and family its an interesting design that works well for them.
I can see improvement in your game watching that. I think you are more rounded. He was very good at switching the play. I think you had more success when attacking his forehand.
your right going to his backhand was a mistake I should have played more to his middle and forehand and finished in the backhand not open to the backhand.
Yeeee worst thing when you play a leftie is 100% the backhand block. The wideout angle punch to your forehand and the straight block down the line.
yup thats the worst 😂
shared with a friend vey useful discussion. who are you training with in Japan?
I am working with a group of players here who play in the japan business leagues as well as a local university the level is very strong so looking forward to continue improving!
Sounds like a great opportunity to improve and see a different environment and culture. Enjoy @@PechPongTT
I am a lefty but used to be a righty in TT. There are many recommendations how to play against a lefty, but they also work well other way around 😅
Yes I like to learn these things its a very interesting dynamic change that I will figure out!
Hi Seth, i am curious where you are practising in Germany? I also practice up to 16 hours a week 🔥 you played against the club i'm working on. Would be a pleasure to see you play oneday. I love your outstanding content ❤
I’m currently playing in Japan right now but will be back in Germany at the club Topspin University near Stuttgart
Who is this monster? Seth your movements look a lot more stable
, congrats
Thanks m8 yes movement is key something the coach and I have been working on
Have you tried less work wrist when the ball is half-long?
yes, for me I really like to keep the form of a backhand flip for long short and medium its easier for me to transition, I have tried the other methods and this works the best for me.
Lookin' buffed, Seth!👍Great game..lefties are tough...maybe more aggression vs these Europeans... yr still our hero!😁
Thanks 🙏 yeah I’ll get ‘em next time 😤
8:50 ma boy gettin frustrated throwin that Racket 😢
Yeah things were not going my way at that moment! 😅
Where do you play in Germany?, i live in Berlin, i may pay you a visit to see one of your games, who knows :)
I play in Nürnberg for the team Hilpostein
@@PechPongTT Oh nice, lovely city ! If you have tournaments in Berlin you can post it on your yt channel, maybe you have people who want to see you play. ;)

4th league? So how many leagues are there in Germany and what's the difference of it compared to USATT? I wondered
This varies from state to state. Some of the earlier leagues can vary alot in name and structure .
1. The DTTL or 1. Bundesliga
2. 2. Bundesliga
3. 3. Bundesliga (Nord and South have different 3. Bundesligas)
4. Regionalliga (regional league = Nord, West, Southwest and South)
5. Oberliga (upper league like 8 different Oberligas)
This was the easy part now for the middle Leagues, for the lower leagues it will become more difficult. There can be also in between leagues like Landesklasse and Verbandsklasse but it is to inconsistent to really count them.
6. Landesliga (national league every state have their own Landesliga, In this leagues you can be happy if you get Rubbers or travel cost sponsored , but no real earnings yet but there might be exceptions)
7. Verbandsliga (association league)
8. Bezirksoberliga (district upper league, this league is very rare and a in between of Bezirksliga and Verbandsliga)
Here it becomes messed up from district to district and it can contain all or only a few of that leagues but with like 5 different separations of each league. The District Leagues are.
Bezirksliga, Bezirksklasse, Kreisoberliga, Kreisliga and Kreisklasse.
But sadjy i have no clue about the difference to the USATT
@@imperatorsk87 lol that's a lot of informations, tks so much. So he's playing regional league?
Yes
Yes its around that level @@CMCMTTTV
What’s your setup nowadays?
its the same as before VS Unlimted blade with K3 both sides, I would however like to mention that the blade is 10 to 12 years old and has rally good feeling because its old ive tried a new one it its NOT the same I maybe will try the new Kenta blade from Tibhar next as I only have one of these rackets and its not replaceable if it breaks.
@@PechPongTT You’re always testing new things and I’m surprised. Hope you’re getting some great training and enjoying your time.
how many Points you got in Germany ?
I have no idea! They said I was low when I started the season due to me playing back in 2014 but have caught up a bit. I really don’t like to look at those things, I play each match as best I can and let the rating go where it will.
brother where are you, lets meet in hamburg
Im in Stuttgart now!
Cracking ...for me your touch shots in the short game are a weakess in this game .... if your training out in japan that will help as the players out there are physically less pumped to rely on the touch being top notch.
Yes I am working on touch shots everyday now it’s becoming priority number 1
Hi seth,
Wellcome to Japan. I can show you places where strong Japanese gather to practice!
Thank you! I am in Sapporo where are you located :)

Ich check das nicht ,ihr habt ca. 2100 ttr und spielt auch dementsprechend gut aber es gibt hier auf CZcams Videos von Spielern die auch so viel haben aber die sind viel schlechter 😮
When you loop forehand from the backhand side you should try going to his super wide forehand like off the side of the table. He's too good at camping in backhand position and blocking you around
Yes 100%! thanks for the input
