  • It's summer again and that means the hot weather takes us to the swimming holes and waterfalls in the White Mountains. On this day we visit three waterfall areas. The Upper Falls at the foot of Mount Washington, Ripley Falls in Crawford Notch, and the Lower Falls just south of Conway.
    Chapters:
    00:00 Upper Falls
    05:56 Ripley Falls
    07:52 Conway for a quick lunch
    08:48 Lower Falls

      You bet! I don't re-watch many of my videos except that I do watch the waterfall ones at least once a year. It reminds me times like this are rare. You need that hot day. And now my kids are older so these videos are memories of times not repeatable. Glad you got something out of it too!

    I’ve been going there my entire life but this is the first time I ever got such a great underwater view in the falls. Awesome video on a perfect day.

      Thanks for the kind comment. I used my oldest GoPro 6 for those underwater shots and it worked out well. Makes me want to go again soon. Such a special spot.

    Thank you for posting this awesome video. My parents are wanting to visit. Question, Did you pay to get into the park?

      You do not have to pay to enter the region of the White Mountains. There is often a five dollar fee to park at the more popular areas such as the Lower Falls. The Upper Falls was just a simple pull over to the side of the road, all free.

    All of this looks so inviting during this heat wave. But no jumping off the bigger cliffs for you? 😄

      I am less of a bobcat and more of a moose. Wading, not jumping.

    Thanks. But can you do another video explaining "hyraulics," as you call it? I live up in Franconia and see just lost a poor mother in the waters of Franconia Falls. Any explanation video might save a life. I think you can best explain "hydraulics" to help future swimmers there. Thanks

      I believe the name of the first waterfall is Upper Falls and it is on the road to the Cog Railway.

    Could you give me the address of upper falls?

    • @RachelWhelton
      @RachelWhelton  Před 7 dny

      The Cog Railway address is 3168 Base Station Road, Crawford, NH, 03583. If you use that address, you will most certainly pass by the Upper Falls on your approach. There is a wooden kiosk at the side of the road that says Water Safety. And you can notice it because there are clearings at the side of the road where so many cars have pulled off to park.
