If you need a book recommendation because I see you get off at Waterloo station, you should definitely read ‘The people on platform 5’ by Clare Pooley. It’s 5 different people who take the train to and from waterloo and the problems they are facing and how they all go from strangers to friends. It’s truly such a wholesome read.
ooo i love the sound of that!! thank you - i'll definitely add it to my list ❤️

Actually such a good video, because its such a normal day. We dont have to run and have tick on our big achievements everyday. Some and most days are like this. Going work, dealing with stress, coming back having leftovers and watching comfort shows to calm window. It feels good to see not everyone wakes up super sharp at 6am, this is real life ❤
So glad you enjoyed it ❤️🥹
You’re energy is so sparkly ✨
Loved the video and have an amazing weekend ❤️
Thank you!! 🥹 that’s the nicest compliment ever. I’m so glad you enjoyed it! Hope you’re having the best weekend 🥰
as a uni student trying to balance studying and CZcams this was a great vlog to watch it was so inspiring and calming
in some way it motivates me so muchhh
from a small content creator to another, keep going
Thank you soo much!! ❤️ the small content creator game of balancing it all can be hard, I so feel you. We got this! ❤️
exactly we can do it @@ellenalicemiller
As someone born, raised, living and working in, London this video is just perfect and accurate. Just 2 years ago I had to adjust to working in the office than working from home 🏡
So glad its relatable! the transition from home to office definitely isnt an easy one! ❤️
Love the video, I'm addicted to watching these day in the life videos, some reason can be the most interesting. Anyway, you are bril xx ❤
Thank you so much! ❤️
Just found your channel and have been enjoying your videos!! Thanks for the realistic but still uplifting content. Good books I’ve read lately: Wuthering Heights, the Secret History (both have great fall vibes), the Dutch House, and the GuestList for a good mystery.
Thank you so much!! I love wuthering heights 🥰 but I haven’t read the others - will add them to my list - Thank you! ❤️
Ok today is one of those days where i feel like doing nothing bt being on bed.! And i am hooked to your all old videos watching over and over.! 😅 happy Sunday i guess.! ❤
Haha i know those days very well! sometimes 'do nothing' days are the best - i'm so glad you're enjoying my videos, it honestly makes me so happy 🥰🥰
One of my favourite books is The Midnight Library by Matt Haig. A more recent one is What you are looking for is in the library by Michiko Aoyama. I have just finished it and would highly recommend it. If you are into historical crime fiction, all five Wyndham & Banerjee books by Abir Mukherjee are great.
oo yes i've heard good things about the midnight library - i might start that one next! thank you so much for all the recs - will add them all to my list! ❤️
@@ellenalicemiller beautiful lady beautiful face sweet lips sweet voice💋💋💋
Newbie here! So soothing, I love the vibe on your video! So nice Ellen😊
Ah thank you so much! welcome! 🤗
Before the lockdown, I went into the office 4 days a week. The one day I worked from home, I would do the bare minimum. I didn't mind that it was a nice 40-minute walk commute with beautiful scenery. Now that I work from home full time I get way more done and I'm a lot more organised. I want to find a new job but it's been super hard to find jobs that are fully remote as most are now hybrid
I had exactly the same experience as you! I used to do nothing when I worked from home and now it’s more productive than in the office. I totally agree finding completely remote jobs isn’t easy ❤️
Hi Ellen 🙂
I liked the way you made yourself look busy at work (just teasing)😂. The 'experts' say that buying a house is the second most stressful thing in life, so please take care. Your chocolates looked nice 😋. Good video 👍.
Thank you! ❤️
I subscribed and turned on the notification bell within seconds. I am finding myself gravitating toward content from women working 9-5. Feels like a sisterhood of sorts.
Ah thank you so much! More 9-5 videos are on their way. I love love the idea of thinking of it as a sisterhood ❤️🥰
Watching Gilmore Girls because it's autumn again, that's so relatable! First video of yours that I've watched and I liked it very much. And the first viog of London as well! Now I want to see more about how's living there.
Ah I’m so glad 🥰❤️ more London vlogs will be coming soon! xx
I would recommend The Crimson Petal and the White by Michel Faber. It’s one of my favourites and perfect for autumn/winter reading 📚
Oo thank you! Adding to my list! ❤️❤️
I use the shiseido lash curler and it is amazingg! I also have the shape tape concealer and it's in my top 3😃
I’m so glad it lives up to the hype I’m LOVING the eyelash curler! ❤️
Omg girl, I was a little worried...no video on sunday. I missed you but I am glad you are good. So sorry to hear about your dreamhouse and those owners. I know what stress that is... Btw i am watching gilmore girls tooo first time 🙈 but I am all autumn this year and enjoying it. And I am all into hygge. Books: I have just read the little cafe in copenhagen, there are the books from Nora Roberts or Holly Martin also very good. I wish you a lovely week. ❤❤❤
I know i'm so sorry i missed an upload!! the house move meant i was without wifi and it made trying to get a vid uploaded a nightmare! thank you for the book recommendations - adding them to my list!! 🥰🥰
No sorry needed. I understand. I was just a little worried. That's all. I was glad that you are okay. You upload when you have time and when you feel like it. 😊 as long as your good it's all good. ❤❤❤
When I saw that praline, I couldn't resist - I raided my fridge hoping for some chocolate too. Thanks for the temptation! lol..
By the way, nicely made video! Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much!!
Refreshing to watch a non influencer walking advertisement type for once but a normal working 9 to 5 person. :) subbed
Thank you so much! And welcome 🥰❤️
I just found your channel and your content is amazing, your lifestyle looks very aesthetic. P.S: I like your accent🤯 Greetings from Sonora, Mexico.🤠💯
Thank you so much 🥰❤️
I really recommend Where the Crawdads Sing and anything by Kristin Hannah - some of my favourite books! Loved finding your channel today and watching your cosy vlogs :)
Oh i loooved where the crawdads sing.. im too scared to watch the film in case it ruins it. Have you seen the movie? and thank you so much - i'm so glad you're enjoying the vlogs ❤️
@@ellenalicemiller I have seen the film and actually thought it was very well done! The casting was on point 👌
Hi Ellen 😊 My job's in office hybrid schedule is Tuesday and Wednesday too. 😅 As far as books go, Misery by Stephen King is a great book. The Help by Kathryn Stockett is another good read. I also enjoyed The Silent Patient and Where the Crawdads Sing. There are four from a few different genres. 😉
Haha snap same working schedule! Ah thank you for the recommendations!! I loved loved where the crawdads sing - will add the others to my list ❤️
I simply love your videos, your vibe ❤.
Favorite Book tips: Book lovers, A court of thorns and roses, One true loves…
Thank you so much 🥰 okay I definitely need to read a court of thorns and roses, so many people are telling me I’d love it!
Circe by Madeline Miller: the retelling of a Greek myth. It seems so familiar but so captivating at the same time. I couldn’t put it down! For me it was about being a human and a female.
Also the all-time favourite 100 years of solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. It is such a magical story of several generations of one family.
oo thank you! i will check them out ❤️
The turn of a key or the girls of summer were great reads
thank you! will add to my list ❤
I am a new viewer from the US. The first video I watched (your most recent one), you mentioned in detail your consulting work and it gave me an idea as far as my own career trajectory. THANK YOU! For my favorite book-"The Coincidence of Coconut Cake" by Amy Reichert. Love it so much. Favorite quote from Gilmore Girls "My Mom said that french fries were the devil's dirty fingers". OMG.I laugh hysterically every time. Thank you for your lovely videos-so excited to have found your channel!
Ah thank you so so much! 🥰❤️
@ellenalicemiller I think I watched about 5 or 6 more vlogs today while I cleaned and decluttered. : )
Hello! I am a new subscriber and find your vlog cozy and uplifting. Thank you for a very enjoyable 22 minutes of my day. Incidentally, I come from the area of Connecticut where Gilmore Girls is based. It's a very accurate portrayal in some ways (and not in others--mainly distance between Hartford and Stars Hollow). The best book I've ever read is Cordelia's Honor by Lois McMaster Bujold (the second half of which is Barryar). Best of luck with your reading adventures.
Ah so cool you’re from near Gilmore girls - if it looks similar you live in such a beautiful part of the world!! Thank you so much for your support 🥰❤️
What a lovely vlog. Really enjoying the idea of romanticising ours lives our 9-5. Do you have any videos where you explain what your job is. Sounds really interesting and I’m super curious. Not heard of that role before. 😀
Thank you! Yes - my other 9-5 job videos I go into more detail on what it’s about ❤️❤️
@@ellenalicemiller fab! I’ll check those out. Thanks
For some book recs I loved 'A Gentleman In Moscow' by Amor Towles (one of my forever faves), if you like romance 'Book Lovers' by Emily Henry was great and if you like historical fiction (it's a tome but it's worth it) I adored 'Wolf Hall' by Hilary Mantel, her writing is so evocative I just fell into it!
Thank you so much!! I will definitely add those to my list 🥰❤️
I read The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah which I really enjoyed. It's also coming out as a film next year 😊
Oo I really like books that i know are coming out as movies so I can compare 😂 adding to the list thank you!! ❤️
I have a very similar day to you when I go to the office and I totally get the bare minimum meal, decompress watching crap tv hour. It needs to be prescribed 🤣
So glad I’m not the only one 😂❤️
I loved The memory keeper of Kyiv from Erin Litteken so much. But it is not a full on happy read. But I do think it is an important one. It grabbed me so much, i laughed but also cried reading it. I would highly recommended.
Oo thank you so much I’ll add it to the list - I love a book like that that really sticks with you ❤️
I did really like where the Crawdads sing 🌿
Yes I loved that one too! Such a lovely book 🥰
Also, but be prepared to cry… A thousand splendid suns
oo yes my mum has recommended this one to me - i definitely need to read it soon! ❤️
Favourite book ever is Time Traveller’s Wife and current book is The 7 husbands of Evelyn Hugo. Really enjoying it!
Oo yes I read 7 husbands and loved it!! ❤️
I really enjoyed your vlog - very calm and interesting. My favourite book of all time is "A Suitable Boy" by Vikram Seth. It's very rich storytelling, but it's an extremely long book (over 1400 pages)! A really lovely read, and a nice project if you're looking for something to take you through the autumn.
Thanks for sharing!! I will add to my list 🥰
Hi, if u like murder mystery, would recommend anything from Steve Cavanagh, David Baldacci, Robert Galbraith (JKR) or a classic Agatha Christie.
My fav salad around office is same price ( living in Dubai, uae), but 25% off discount codes helps a bit.
Thank you for the book recommendations! 🥰
Haven’t seen Canary Wharf station so empty in the morning going to work from 08.00-10.30 for sooo long 😮
I know!! I feel like it’s fluctuating so much at the moment - 2 weeks ago it was the busiest I’ve ever seen it, and then sometimes it’s dead!
According to reading. Each book Mario Vargas Llosa I recomend. My special recomendation: Conversation in The Cathedral (original title: Conversación en La catedral) is a 1969 novel by Spanish-Peruvian writer and essayist Mario Vargas Llosa.
Ahhh loved the trouser.! Your sizes almost matches mine.! Would you please tell waist size for this one.! Love you xxx
Thank you! I’m a U.K. 10 or 12 - these were a W28 😊🥰
It might be a little too late as I have just watched your vlog, but I can not recommend enough to read Belgravia by Julian Fellowes it is such a great book. Keep going the videos they are really inspiring me. 😍
Thank you so much! I will add to the list 🥰❤️
I used to live and work in London, was exhausting, no time for nothing, commuting every day. I left as soon as I could
London is definitely exhausting - the way your whole body relaxes when you get out of London is crazy! But for now, i really enjoy a balance of the two. There is something about the energy of London I have always loved 🥰
I love ur white top, jacket combo 😍
Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
The pact, five quarter of an orange are great books
thank you! i will add to the list ❤️
I ended up here because I watch vlogs in English everyday to improve the language. I really enjoyed!
what does "things are just slammed" mean though? 💌when talking about your job
That's awesome! Thank you! ❤️
One of my fav books is If We Were Villains (dark academia vibes ❤), and recently I love love loved Look Closer by David Ellis (more mystery/thriller). A psychological thriller I recently liked is The House on Needless Street 👀
Lessons in Chemistry was really good, too! They’re gonna stream the adaptation with Brie Larsson soon so I recommend you watch that!
Thanks for sharing!! Oo i didn't know that about lessons in chemistry, i love it when i can watch it on tv too and compare ❤️
The best book I’ve every read us by Jeffrey Archer - A prisoner of Birth. I’ve probably read 70 books since but that is my absolute favourite oh my!
Also, Mans Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl is really really good
Thank you!! I'll definitely check them out ❤️
A Divine Setup
Omgee missed you! 🫶🏾🥹
Honestly I missed you too! 10 days is too long without posting!! ❤️
@@ellenalicemiller exactly! Glad you’re back 🥹🤗
Great video. Your crib looks very neat and pretty. We have a similar salad joint in San Francisco called MIXT GREENS with price starts at a whooping USD18. Super delish but quite overpriced.
Thank you! yeah this is the same, so yum but definitely expensive 😂
Holding thumbs you get the home of your dreams staying tuned in on your chanel for decor videos to come soon in near future.
Thank you!
Very nice work
Thanks a lot :)
£12 for a salad 😮 shocked northerner face, it did look nourishing though. Congratulations on the house. Looking forward to new home content ❤
Honestly isn’t it mad?? London prices seem to keep going up like crazy - it’s like £18 for a burger in a pub these days I swear 😂😭
Nice video. How long is the round trip commute ? Do you change lines ?
Round trip is probably close to 3 hours 🥴 it’s just under 1 hour and a half each way. I only change once - I get the train to Waterloo and then the jubilee line 😊
@@ellenalicemiller it takes me 2.5 hrs round trip in Bangalore. Change line once & boy is it crowded after 8 am
The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah is one of the best and most moving books I’ve ever read. Be prepared to cry!! 💛
thank you!! will definitely add to the list! ❤❤
YES to this!!

Love your videos!! The best book I've ever read is The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo (romantic, gripping, glamourous). If you want more of a thriller / edge of your seat book a really good one I've read recently is None of this is true :)
yes yes i LOVED seven husbands - i havent read none of this is true, i'll check it out!! thank you ❤
I absolutely do not mind to just go into work Tuesday and Wednesday..
Agree - I love the balance!
Sorry I’m late but „You let me in“ by Lucy Clarke is one of the best books I’ve ever read ❤😊
I'll check it out! ❤
Hey new sub here, got a question. In the UK 9-5 means sharp 5 are you gone by 5 o' clock?; when you are in office? Cause in Greece it works a bit differently saddly.. Also do they ring you after working hours? Cause I had a situation my gf used to work for someone 9-5 and he was ringing at 20:00 for work stuff.. So annoying was driving me mad. Nice video though, I love London and UK in general. PS. I am reading Firmament from Simon Clark on my kindle.
Usually after 5pm you have 1 or 1.5h train conmuting until you reach home. Because nobody can afford to live in the city centre where all those corporative jobs are. Trains are slow and always delayed. That’s worse and beyond more exhausting than working hours, in my opinion.
Honestly for me work is more like 8.30am - 6.30pm. I just say 9-5 to mean a ‘normal job’ 😂❤️ some jobs in the U.K. are 5pm sharp - but I think it’s rare! xxx
How muxh time in the tube? Do u transbord ?change statiok i mean.
about 15 minutes on the tube - i change from train to tube. But once im on the tube I just stay on the same one :)
Hey Yo, Ellen, What's up, girl? I can't believe what I'm seeing. London is awesome. Yeah, This place is really nice and I'd like to go there. In fact, I like big cities and I'd like to go to the city. I like this city very much because There are so many buildings and The parks here are awesome. In fact, It's refreshing to see a park in the city. By the way, Your living space is really nice and What you're doing is awesome. Happy Halloween and I hope you have a good time. 🌁🌃🌇💂♀️🇬🇧🎃🎃🕷️👍👏👏🙂

But I’m currently reading dark academia fantasy books: Babel by
R.F. Kuang - it’s placed in Oxford
amazing - thank you!! adding them to my list ❤️❤️
This video was suggested by CZcams and i really liked it.
The fact that your employer made you go to the office just to have online meetings Back to Back is insane. I suffer from this too. It is something that i’m incapable to accept.
It’s definitely a difficult balance to get right! There is something great about in person human connection - but I also love working from home ❤️
Little Women is an amazing book! Also Animal farm by George Orwell is an interesting read.
I love love little women 🥰🥰
Animal farm is my favourite book. 😊
The Book of Lost Names & Forest of Vanishing Stars by Kristen Harmel WWII Historical fiction. SO good! Also, if you like fantasy fiction- A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J Maas was super hard to put down!!
Oo thank you! One of my friends keeps trying to get me to read a court of thorns and roses as well 👀 I definitely need to add to the top of my list!
The Housemaid and The Housemaids Secret by Freida Mcfadden!

I've heard this is amazing!! ❤️
Love the outfit! Which color of bra do you choose because is not showing anything! I have lots of several BLACK BRA and I CANNOT use with any of my WHITE tops and I love them so much. I think I will buy BEIGE. I live in London too, your channel is very nice :)
