Hello friends!
I hope you enjoy this little summer vlog with some ideas of how to romanticize summer. I mostly just share bits of my life that I've been romanticizing lately. Early summer days are my favorite part of the season. The weather finally is warm enough to spend the entire day outside, reading in gardens, strolling through parks and having sunset picnics. Of course book shopping is also included :) I've also really gotten into journaling recently. My new favorite thing is to print out pictures of the day and include them in my journal since I'm very much a visual person :) I'd love to know how you've been romanticizing and enjoying summer so far!

Summer is my least favorite season. I love being outside, but I can’t handle to heat. I think I may have seasonal depression but opposite. You inspired me today. I’m going to hop into my old truck and find some of the beauty of summer, take some photos, and really romanticize the beauty of the day. Thank you! I agree! I think a lot of it depends on where you live. I’m in Florida and get kind of reverse cabin fever. I can’t enjoy the outside because it’s too hot. Oh, well. I enjoy the thunderstorms though! Perfect “curling up with a good book” weather.
I felt this. I have summer onset seasonal depression so I always pray for summer to end fast but I'm going to try and start romanticizing it and doing things I enjoy in the summertime and hopefully it'll help

Seeing you make that daisy crown for D’artagnan reminded me of Alice making daisy crowns for herself and her cat Dinah, before stumbling down the rabbit hole into Wonderland. Your moments together give me flashbacks of my childhood doggie, too, whom I dearly miss. So much love and gratitude for furry family members, both current and past! A lot of people get Winter Blues, I tend to get Summer Blues! Here in NC, summer is so hot & usually lasts 4-5 months. This year I’m trying really hard to love it & do more things that I love to do when it’s warm; beach days, picnics, growing food, reading in the garden, etc. 👒🌻
Swimming is the key to break that. I'm a born and raised Texan. I try to swim as much as possible during the summer and it really helps to deal with the super hot days. I do have to say I'll take summer over winter any day. If I'm inside because of the extreme weather, I'll take the season where I still get sunshine pouring into my windows. The dreary winter days just get to me. I enjoy the cold snuggly weather for about 3 weeks, then I'm over it and ready for spring lol.
Just the beginning of this video made me tear up so much that I had to reach for a tissue…. I love summertime and I agree that the early days are the best. I even enjoy the late, hot “dog days” of summer, but I never felt that was quite a fair description. I love the heat, the sunshine, spending endless days with my kids who are out of school… sitting out on the back porch listening to the cicadas in the trees and watching the birds roost for the night. Warm nights. Stepping out of an air-conditioned bookstore into the warm afternoon. Sweet corn-on-the-cob, garden fresh tomatoes and lemon meringue pies. The smell of chlorine and sunscreen on my skin… just everything! 🥹🥹

Living in Florida we take certain things for granted. It is always green here, even in winter. That being said watching the Magnolia trees get their blossoms is one of my favorite things about Spring and Summer. Summer for us means thunderstorms that shake your soul. The sky is pure electricity. The rain smells amazing. You have to pause and give respect to the rumble of the thunder as it announces itself. Sometimes it can feel a little scary but in a good way. There is beauty in every season and I thank you for sharing that with us Darling Desi. You make seasons come alive for so many of us. Have and amazing summer and God bless.

Summer is probably my least favorite season, it’s hot and mosquitoes are so annoying. But you definitely help me to like a little more, and I like how some of the activities you did were indoors, good for days where it really is way too warm. Btw what was the biscuit recipe you used? I'm usually a summer hater BUT I moved to a new state a couple months ago and my life has taken a turn for the better. I am someone who get a lot of anxiety and the last couple of years have been so harsh that my hair got really grey. Thankfully enough, now that i have calmed down a lot the went back to normal. My doctor said it happens. But I am telling you this because stress takes such a toll on the body and we cant have that. Try to do little things that make you happy every day. Like, today I bought some flowers and they re so pretty. Work and bills and life are still stressful but .... my flowers! And this song I've been listening to today: Two blue eyes by tall heights.

Thanks for this beautiful video! I love the journaling idea with the photos. Also give D'Artagnan a few extra treats for being such a good boy and holding still😉 I made a flower crown for my dog Simba last weekend and he always threw it off of his head the next second- until it finally landed in the water😂 But I got one good picture and it makes me smile to think about this whole moment. Dogs are earth angels! ☺
I think your videos have really helped me appreciate the things i loved about summer as a kid. As an adult it seemed less enjoyable and maybe that's because we work instead of getting to truly slow down buttttt maybe that shouldnt be a real excuse. Im gunna try from here on out to do the things i loved as a kid during my spare time. Thank you :)

My favourite season is right now, that time between late spring and early summer. Even though the weather hasn't been cooperating recently and we've been hit by several rain/thunderstorms, I'm still doing my best to romanticize the season, and this video is definitely going to help with that!

I love love love your videos ♥️ romanticizing life and having a positive mindset have changed my life drastically! Going to school/university, spending time in nature, playing the piano and dancing ballet, all these things that I‘ve been doing for basically my whole life suddenly feel that much more important and fulfilling to me. We have a little bookshop here in Yorkshire, England That have a table full of books wrapped in brown paper, with just a generalised genre written on the brown paper. You never know what the book is going to be about until you unwrap it. I’ve discovered books and authors that I’d never heard about before but now love.
I have baked no-knead dutch oven bread since the pandemic started and still doing it, about 2 loaves each week (it is just my husband and myself now). I am German, but since living in the USA (for 21 years now), I have missed German bread. But with this recipe, I do not miss it anymore. The video was beautiful. I especially loved the ending. Your dress was sooo fitting for the environment :-) Like a scene in the alps :-) I also loved the book store! How many cute little ideas (gum drop machine for book seuggestions, menu card, and so on)! I had never heard about the Canon Ivy, but will look into it. Same for the Caraway cookware. I love your videos!

Growing up in Utah, my favorite bookstore EVER was always King's English. I would go with my mom often and spend hours there passing time and reading. That was the last thing we did before I moved away. What a sweet experience seeing you visit and feeling nostalgia for the memories I've experienced there, and what a beautiful video.
What I love about Desi is her attitude toward everything. She takes it in like a young child, with care but occasionally it won’t matter and she won’t get mad at it, she’ll look at it without a care and move on. Of course when I say she takes it in like a child it is exactly what I said, no I do not think of her as the type of person to make tantrums. Just wanted to make that clear.

But this vlog was so beautiful Desi!!🌻 It's extremely hot outdoors in my city and there are no cafes or bookshops. So I romanticise summer by staying indoors in ac, watch summery vlogs like yours, read lots of books, and drink lots of lemonades and milkshakes.
