  • NEVER use a hammer, gently pull he crankshaft into the bearing, you need a special tool, but u can also use a clutch screw mother and distance rings, it works as well, but not so fast and easy
    why no hammer?
    check the crank out: its connected not in the center but on a side, so if u hit on the crank stumps u will damage the centering of the cheeks and as well u will hurt and ankle the stumps

    is it similar for older vespa (VBC, VBB, etc)? because i saw people put the bearing first into the crankshaft not crankcase, then put the crankshaft by hand without a special tool like you demonstrated in the video

    can you make a video on how to easily remove the crank? installation of a crank is bearable since i can use a stacked washer and old bearing as a tool, but removing it is a pain in the ass.

      very simlle: wood on the stump, and a hammer, its allowed to hammer on the stump on this side as on this side it sits in the bearing, so u dont damage the crank ans centering

      mista FreakMoPed with the clutch nut screw in or no nut?

    • @FreakMoPed8
      @FreakMoPed8  Před 6 lety

      u are totally right, its even better do add a clutch nut, screw it in that it is even with the stump and then gently hammer it out. small gentle hits

    When i assemble the right side, crankshaft is stuck, hard to spining. Why is that?

    can you share crankshaft bearing number and brand too?. px use 25x62x12, but on the market, every popular branded bearings with those size were fake (you cant find them on official web or catalogue).

      @@FreakMoPed8 since PX use non standard bearing (25X62X12), and standard size on every market is 25x62x17 (6305 series). i've been searching FAG 98305 on their web and catalogue, the result is unmatched. probably your bearing was made in taiwan or chinese manufacture. the original product that i can found is SKF BB1-0855. Then the rest of brand taht usually numbered as 98305 , SC05A12, 1838001, i can say all of them were fake. i try to search on italian online shop, they have SKF BB1-0855 and pinasco, and of course real product is quite pricy. and my experience, i am using NRB (india) bearing that was labelled as DANMOTOR (exclusive licensee agent) for 2 years with daily use. my bearing seems fine, but it still make me little bit nervous for high speed driving (90 KM/H). i want to now about your experience about your FAG 98305 or other brand that not official product on abusive driving or long ride distance, because i watch some of your tuned scooter. if your bearing in a good shape, then may be even for taiwanese bearings are still "ok" for substitute choice. 40 euro for bearing still to expensive for me😅. thanks for your reply

    I'm surprised you dont need any sort of support for the tool's tube on the right side... Won't it push out the seal without a counter support (e.g. a metal plate with a hole in it)?

    • @FreakMoPed8
      @FreakMoPed8  Před 6 lety

      the tube sits on the inner ring of the bearing, thats exactly where into u pull it in.

    Can i use a torch burner? I mean heat the crankcase first then it will expand. After that, push the crankshaft in. Can i?

    • @FreakMoPed8
      @FreakMoPed8  Před 4 lety

      no. pls dont. it will damage the bearing as the crank sits IN the inner bearing ring
      with the tool (you can make one yourself) its very easy, no worries.

      In this low price sector, with so cheap new and used spare parts, its not really worth to invest in a repair.
