I’ve had an LR3, an LR4 and now a new Defender - all 100% reliable. I wouldn’t own them if they weren’t reliable and excellent vehicles.

To be honest, in 2024 if you purchase virtually any modern vehicle and care for it properly and complete maintenance, essentially any vehicle runs well. Even if you get unlucky, every vehicle comes with manufacturer warranty to cover defects for a reason, so that customers can purchase with peace of mind

When talking about competition or other models. The downside is they plummet like a rock in resale. Looking at a Sport S Model which has a lesser engine and not as fancy by maybe 4 things less that I can add later or go without - but otherwise is pretty much the same type SUV. Slightly lower hood and weird tail end but is massive. and in some ways the Sport variabt its actually as cool if not cooler looking than the Dynamic series. DYNAMIC JUST GIVES YOU ALL THE ELECTRONIC BELLS AND WHISTLES that you said weren't on here either? (The red dot / blue dot on the dual zone temp husge?) CANT REMEMBER now what you said those did but this looks tons better tgan the fugly 2022 model. Also you keep saying Q7 abd X7 for the Audi/BMW comparisons. I'll agree this is close to the Audi Q7 and it's just a fact here in Europe that Audi make the nicest leather interiors baring a Rolls or Bently etc. But the "X7" comment? Maw mate. You're crossing it up with the BMW X5. That's on par with the Audi Q7. The BMW X7 is massive and fully loaded you're well over $140K with a Dynamuc type package. So think that's the only correction you need to make unless you're reading a newer 2023 refresh sheet I've not seen that ballons this to an X7 size - If so then your Audi example is too small then. I'm narrowing my SUV midsized luxury AWD list ironically to all the Rovers; Audi Q7; BMW X5 and Mercedes GLE 4Matic. But Mercedes and Audi and Rover did a refresh in 2023. (Depebds on the midels) but I totally passed in the Benz at first as their midrange SUVs are made from C300 car parts. Plastic; a massive iPad screen Ala Tesla style that just looks outta place and blocks your views over the glovebox Front right Tyre when looking Right jn an LHS US model (is the reverse issue if in the UK looking left from a RHS model) but point is of all the updates Mercedes reworked the roof; hood/bonnet and headlights and lower valance and interior parts now come from the "S" and even "E" class sedans (the $150 estate ahd coupe old mam cars) but has real wood trim massive display and the steering wheel and center consoles is no longer cheap plastic. Brushed aluminum and different options. Then Rover esp the P90 OMG they've done a totally overhaul on that entire truck. But I choked on the price tag. Loaded out a 110 is pushing $180k!!! P90 are jn the 110K range and again they depreciate like a rock. Am looking at 4 Discovery's now on 3 different websites. All 2023 and range from HSE to Dynamic to Sport S midel and one has 9k miles on it the other 2 are in the 15k-20k miles yet tge prices run between $27500-$31,750! Whereas if I really wanted to get the Range ROVER body style I truly like... I'd go with the Sport (it's the largest most masculine of the Evoque/VELAR/sport SUV family. Don't know if they've added thrse screens here into the 2023 sport model or not. Maybe w024 has it. But then you're starting bSe is $74K. So I'm paying $50k more for basically the same vehicle? (Discovery at $30K 2023 and $85K for the loaded out Sport which is smaller than the one you're rest driving here? Doesn't make sense and yes they're definitely underrated. Anyway. Just pitching NY 2 pence in and if I get something this next week I'll let you know what we t with. What puts me off this model the most is the tuck and roll front and 2nd-row seats. Looks like a 63 Corvette seat :) Peace ✌️

Range Rover HSE and Range Rover sport SVU, no issues with either except one electronic on the sport, took 5 minutes to fix. Audi RS5, suspension collapsed after 3000 miles, Merc e220 lights fell out (no idea why) engine lights kept coming on, leaked seals.

I just bought a 2017 HSE and couldn't be happier! Though it is 6 years older than the '23 year model in the video, the car really hasn't changed very much. Mine has the twin turbo diesel engine and is a torquey beast! Especially after I upgraded with a performance chip. My only complaint is no cupholders. No cup holders! Are cupholders not useful in the UK because we Americans really like to drink and drive! That may have come out wrong. 😁 Great review on a very underrated SUV!

I agree. Oddly the Discovery has become the "forgotten model". I actually thought they discontinued the model. :)) Bad or lack of marketing in Canada.
I always liked the LR4 because it "stayed boxy" when every one was sloping the back end ...making their SUV's look like hatchbacks. Now recently companies are moving back to "boxy" shaped SUV's YEAH!! e.g. Toyota Land Cruiser and the others.....actually i think Toyota has a better rep than even Land Rover now for reliablity....don't know if LR has hanged this in recent years....they seem just to be a STATUS brand...for "posers"....

The wife has a Range Rover Evoque and reliability has been good it has not been in the shop but I hate driving the car. The infotainment system is very slow, the handling is pretty bad although the ride is comfortable. It's slow because the engine is quite underpowered and throttle response is unpredictable let's say. The R dynamic package would have helped the handling but not acceleration. Fir a Range Rover to be good has to be fully loaded and therefore too expensive and definitely not worth the money for what you get.

Have you got a diesel engine in your Evoque? I had one this week as a courtesy car and I didn’t like the way the throttle felt at slower speeds. I’ve felt it on other smaller diesels before. I think the petrol engine may feel a better in this regard.
