Contributor Luke Burbank talks with experts about how the physical act of giving and getting a hug can boost our oxytocin hormone levels, and how we can still get a good hug when we really need one.

Watching those toddlers hug, I felt it. So sweet! Then I remembered the concept, rooted in neuroscience, of neural mirroring (from Wiki):

I’m in my room, he’s in his room, and the dog is getting more affection than she’s ever known before. Watching her pass back and forth between us is hysterical.

I would have washed hands first. I visit an elderly gal to check on her. I wash my hands and even give my clothing a Lysol spray.
This may sound silly to some people, but I would never forgive myself if I didn't take at least these easy precautions and she became ill.
