I've seen many recordings of Chris singing this song, but I love the ones with his wife Morgan with him. Saw him this past week at a concert and when he introduced her, he said he loved her. Audience went wild
His wife is his back up singer and she has an amazing voice herself.
This song actually helped me overcome alcoholism. This song being about not needing alcohol, when love is everything you need. This song helped me realize that my wife and her love was better than any alcohol could offer. And while I recently lost her, this song still gives me strength, and hold on to the love that we had. 5 years sober now.

I am from London and have been a Country music fan for years and discovered Chris about five years ago, but probably the reason why most of the UK public do not know him here (although maybe some do through Justin Timberlake) is that when Country acts come to play here, whenever they do media the interviewers often take the piss with immature "yee haw" type comments to acts that have sold millions, and so they probably find it all a bit tedious. Then other Country acts like Faith Hill, LeAnn Rimes, Shania Twain and Taylor Swift are marketed here more along Bubblegum Pop lines.
I had heard many of Chris Stapleton's songs recorded by other Country acts when he was just a songwriter but I did not know at the time that he had written those songs. His wife who harmonises her vocals on many songs, then suggested that he should consider recording himself before it got too late.
You are in for a treat if you look up some of his other stuff too, such as Broken Halos, Either Way, Fire Away (very powerful video to this one), I Was Wrong, Last Thing I Needed First Thing This Morning, Millionaire, Parachute, Scarecrow In The Garden, Sometimes I Cry, Was It 26, What Are You Listening To and a cover of Elton John's I Want Love.

Alot of people don't know this about Chris he is a kentucky boy very easy going in person (meet him twice) he was originally a song writer and even wrote songs for Adele. He was a bluegrass singer before turned to country with a band called the steeldrivers.

I found great pleasure in people discovering him. I knew his great voice before he went solo. He was lead of a bluegrass band called the Steeldrivers. "Blue of the Mountain" and "If it hadn't been for Love" from the group are favorites. I thought it would have worked as great songs for Supernatural.
Oh, you should see the video of Stapleton and Timberlake doing this song as a duet at the CMA's. That will blow your mind.

Wish I would've went and seen him perform at a nearby ball room here in Oklahoma. Because soon after that, he performed with Justin Timberlake live at the CMA's and blew up. Now it's probably near impossible to go see him in a small crowd setting.
